Since the shooter is dead I think we have to take him at his word and certainly there is a long trail of evidence pointing to his islamic jihadist cause starting with his comments right after 9/11 when he got on the school bus as a teen and mocked the attacks and told classmates that America deserves this. One has to be in total denial not to see this for what it is.

The Congressional approval rating is horribly low because Republican voters don't like the Dems in office and the Democrat voters don't like the Repubs in office so everyone has something not to like. The 11% that approve are lobbyists or others that don't know what Congress is.

I think it's a fair question to ask if those that very strictly practice the muslim faith as you have mentioned is required to actually be a muslim will find conflict with some U.S laws and practices? Can a muslim true to their faith really adopt and assimilate to American culture? I know some great muslim people but by your definition of no deviation from the practice they are probably not muslims.

What would make him a Muslim or not a Muslim? There are plenty of Christians (people baptized as such and also who attend church services all their lives) who one day decide to kill some people. They're Christians. Bad ones but Christians none the less. Today's crazy Muslims are simply bad ones.

Party trumps all and people don't want to vote for someone they perceive can't win and the 3rd party candidates rarely get much exposure. Trump's position on immigration is the most sound except for the practicality of deporting all and getting Mexico to write a check. There are so many reasons to limit immigration. It's really a no-brainer. The terrorism threat is just one piece of it.

Why wouldn't we ban Syrian refugees given what little we really know about those coming in? While we're at it, why wouldn't we do a lot more to secure our borders? Why shouldn't we bring all immigration (legal and illegal) down to a trickle until we can improve the process and until a time when our economy and jobs environment is better equipped to absorb higher numbers?
