  1. Since Bruce in 85 the only D-lineman drafted in the first round has been Erik Flowers. Since Conlan in 87 the only defensive front seven player drafted in the first round has been Erik Flowers.
  2. If this happens everyone on TSW would have nothing to be upset about, the lack of threads complaining about the Bills draft would cause a rift in the space time continuem, thus creating a black whole and sucking all of WNY and eventually the rest of the world through it, killing all of creation.
  3. I hope all three QBs go in the top ten, I would love to see Pettigrew go before us, I want all four tackles off the board before Buffalo's first pick. This entire time I have been hoping for Ayers or Cushing but if all that other stuff happens, I can hope for Raji, or Curry, or Orakpo. It would make my day better.
  4. Peerless Price, Donte Stallworth, Carl Pickens and Willie Gault take offense
  5. If Orakpo is at 11 you take him, it is nothing like Vernon Gholsten. Gholsten got drafted and was moved to another position in a different scheme. If we draft Orakpo it is to play DE in a 4-3 just like he did in college. Just like Patrick Willis a few years ago everyone was worried about the Bills taking him if he was available because of percieved issues with giving his all, all the time and his smarts- he wasnt available and we all wish now he had been. A guy being dedicated to the wieght room is a good thing, Bruce Smith was. Texas has had plenty of guys become good NFL players, anytime a school sends that many people to the NFL they are going to have a share of busts its just the law of averages(except Penn State they bust way to often). Orakpo was good in their Bowl game, and he played injured all year and got I believe atleast 9 sacks, while missing three games. I think many people are over thinking this as they get on Ayers for not enough sacks, and Everette Brown for being to small and lining up way outside and getting alot of his that way. You cant have your cake and eat it too-Orakpo put up better numbers then Ayers, he is better built then Brown and lined up at a normal 4-3 postion across from the tackle. The reason he had problems with his combine postion drills was because some want him as a 3-4 OLB if you wanted to do that then compare him to Gholsten and be worried, but if you are going to play him at 4-3 end, he is as good as any that has come out the last few years.
  6. I like Robiskie, however I doubt the Bills will draft a WR because I think they percieve that as a strength- I dont, but they do.
  7. Wow Bandit you grabbed the exact two I was going to say. Michael Lombardi says no way does Al Davis takes Crabtree without a forty time, and that either Heyward-Bey ar Maclin gets picked by the Raiders at 7. Also I dont see both "throwback" MLB going in the first round as both are considered two down players that come off the field in passing situations. Going way out on a limb here 1 Sanchez gets drafed ahead of Stafford(Lions take Curry- Seahawks take Sanchez) 2 All three QBs are off the board by the tenth pick( Via trade ups by either the Jets, Redskins or Broncos)
  8. Even if you are right, being bad this year is not the worst thing. Being stuck in the middle over and over is. Having a bad year may get us a new FO, and coaching staff. Having a bad year allows you to potential draft a face for the franchise(as long as we Draft a Bruce Smith and not a Mike Williams). For nine years his team has not attempted to rebuild the right way, and it is long overdue. Rather then putting bandaids of mediocre staff and players we could make the right moves. Look at KC, they took there lumps last year even after purging the roster and stocking it with young(but some talented) football players and this year have a new coaching staff and FO- of course only time will tell if they got the right ones. Maybe Ralph (I dont give the man the benefit if the doubt often) knew this year would not be a good one and decided to start turning the roster over this year and instead of making a new headcoach live through the first year of the rebuilding process and get run out of town like Cam did in Miami(which I dont think the man is a terrible coach, especially with what he did with Baltimores offense last year) he is letting Dicky J take that heat. Just throwing this out there for a different point of view, because like you I am not expecting alot from this team, however if done right I am ok with that. Meaning getting good young players, and good coaches that can bring something to the table besides signing on the cheap( I am not saying you have to pay top dollar-you just need to get a good coach which can be had at a reasonable rate). I am ok with being patient if I think patients will pay off, I no longer have patientce for no hope of reward.
  9. Eugene Monroe kept Albert at gaurd in college. It is not a stretch to imagine he may turn out better then Albert at the next level.
  10. Mayock had us picking Whitner, that is where the Mayock love started from.
  11. This is true, but I believe if memory serves me he also wanted Cutler instead of Whitner.
  12. I want the Bills to select to actually make either the Offense or defense a strength. I am sick of the added here while subtracting there. Fix the front seven this year by getting Ayers then Laurinitis in the first, or fix the offense by getting Pettigrew then Leadbolt. Either way this team will have a strength it can rely on, sure the other will be a weakness(not like we are playoff ready anyway) that they will have to address next year, but we will be able to form an identity something this team has been lacking for years. Fix the front seven or fix the line and the blocking, for I fear if we try to do both we will fix niether.
  13. 1. Mark Sanchez- Seahawks 2. Michael Crabtree- San Fran 3. Brandon Pettigrew-Eagles 4. BJ Raji- Kansas City 5. Brian Orakpo-Cleveland
  14. I believe if memory serves me right he was trying to work a deal with Pittsbugh. However Pittsburgh didnt want to do the deal because we would take Rothlisberger and then the Texans would take Daunte Robinson and those two players where the ones they here targeting
  15. I dont know if four tackles go in the top ten, and I think Smith, Smith, Monroe all go before Oher. If all four do go top ten that means someone considered to be to good should be there. The guys from Path to the draft seem to think both QBs go top ten, and some think all three because after Sanchez a bidding was will start for Freeman( who was one of the prospects brought to Radio City Music Hall). So if it unfolds like that 7 players in the top ten will be OT's or QBs, also it is certain Curry and Orakpo would be gone leaving the Bills a shot at Raji or Cushing (who I believe I have read that Singletary likes one pick ahead of us just like P Willis a few years ago.)
  16. Could not agree more with the first paragraph. It sums up how I feel about the Bills for the last couple of years. I disagree in the second paragragh about the going rate (to me the going rate is not the highest contract for that position in the league-top ten money would to me sound more like going rate). Your third paragraph I disagree with because I dont think any of the players that left here very good and all where very overrated( even before John Butler left this team started getting terrible at drafting - and with the exception of one or two draft classes it has been that way far too long). I think losing Pat Williams who we let walk because he was aging but still going strong what has it been five years now and Antoine Winfield are probably the only two I would take back. Fletcher, Spikes, Clements, Sam Adams, McGahee where well past there prime or not nearly as good as many of us think they where.

  19. While I agree with 1 and 2, I disagree with number three. While Jason Peters is a good player and I would have rather him stay, the team with Jason Peters has gone 7-9 for three years in a row. So it is safe to presume the Bills lose with Jason Peters, maybe mix things up and see what happens. This team has no Bruce Smith everyone is capable of being replaced. I hold little hope with this front office and coaching staff though.
  20. I would love Eugene Monroe coming from a school that has recently put out alot of good O-linemen he looks like the best of them. However he will be long gone, so I like Oher, Ayers, and Cushing.
