Let me ask you a question, do you pass judgement on other carnivores like cats, wolves, fish, etc, or do they get a bye because they don't have self-rightous members of their species to tell them that millions of years of evolution and nature are totally wrong about their diet? -
I love the sound of vinyl, but I'm finding that I really don't use my turntable enough. I'm thinking of selling it if I can get a decent price. I have a Rega 2 that I bought a couple years ago. http://www.needledoctor.com/Rega-P2-Turnta...mp;category=353

In my younger days I had several speeding tickets and every one of them was reduced by talking to the DA prior to the court appearance. (This was over 10 years ago). Ask to speak to the DA and find out if they are willing to reduce the ticket. They will often reduce to something like "failure to obey a traffic device" or at least lower the speed violation to 65 in a 55. You would then plead guilty to the lower violation. Good Luck.

Top 10 most badass animals native to the USA
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not really. Most coyotes do seem pretty scrawny around my area though. http://www.adfg.state.ak.us/pubs/notebook/furbear/coyote.php Coyotes average 22 to 33 pounds (10-15 kg) or about one-third the size of wolves. Males are slightly heavier than females. Coyotes average 2 feet high (.6 m) at the shoulder and, including tail, are approximately 4 feet (1.2 m) long. http://www.holoweb.com/cannon/racoon.htm Raccoons (Procyon Lotor) are medium sized animals, 12 - 35 + lbs. and 20 - 40 inches long -

Would you rather stare down an 8 foot tall moose or a 25 pound coyote? So many choices would have been better. -

Coyote? I'm pretty sure my dog could kick a coyote's ass. I still don't understand how 2 coyotes could kill that chick a few months ago. I've got those things (coyotes not folk singers) behind my house and most of them aren't much bigger than a raccoon. -
Are there still people out there who believe criminals will heed a "no guns allowed" policy? This particular gun free zone policy may have cost many soldiers their lives. "Among President Clinton's first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. In March 1993, the Army imposed regulations forbidding military personnel from carrying their personal firearms and making it almost impossible for commanders to issue firearms to soldiers in the U.S. for personal protection." "Because of Mr. Clinton, terrorists would face more return fire if they attacked a Texas Wal-Mart than the gunman faced at Fort Hood, home of the heavily armed and feared 1st Cavalry Division. That's why a civilian policewoman from off base was the one whose marksmanship ended Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's rampage. " http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/n...y-base-gun-ban/

WSOP..No Spoilers...but AVOID YAHOO

Saw that this morning. I was looking forward to watching the showdown tonight. -
So a semi-automatic 9mm or .223 is overkill just because it looks scary, but a shotgun that could punch a fist sized hole through somebody is an appropriate response to an intruder? Personally I love having my Mossberg Persuader shotgun as my main home protection gun, but certainly not because it isn't "overkill". I have an AR-15 too there is no question which gun will do more damage within 20 yards. (it's not the scary looking one). Other than being much more accurate, reliable and easy to conceal, a common 9mm pistol is really no different than an uzi or tec 9 since NY already has laws banning magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds and automatic weapons (very few exceptions).

Interesting article on bicycles and traffic laws
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Very off topic, but I always get a kick out of the bikes with the "loud pipes save lives" sticker and the rider wearing the absolute minimum legal protection helmet, shorts and no sleeves. I'm sure those obnoxious pipes are because you are a safety nut. -
Interesting article on bicycles and traffic laws
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
From the little bit of info I could gather from the articles, it sounds like the cyclists were following at an unsafe distance if they were unable to stop in time to avoid the vehicle in front of them. I always thought that the vehicle that rear ended (giggity) another was always at fault? -
Taking a dog over the US/Canada border

Just tell the border cop that it is a military dog and it's deserting. They will treat your dog like a hero. -
Thurs Practice Injury Report - Headache?

My Dad will sometimes only get the aura. As he got older the headache wouldn't always follow. It's pretty scary stuff if you don't know what is going on. -

Your "migraines" must not have been as bad as what most people experience. Questioning someone's toughness for not being able to work while suffering from a migraine makes you look like a real jackass. I gaurantee you would not "suck it up" and go to work if you had a migraine similair to the ones that I and some of the other posters have experienced. -
Thurs Practice Injury Report - Headache?
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to ColdBlueNorth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Many people cannot function when they get a migraine (myself included). I can't see for a half hour prior to the migraine due to the aura effect that is kind of like a big blob of tv static. It is extremely painfull and can cause hypersensitivity to light and sound. I've even had times when it caused my arm or leg to go numb. (thought I was having a stroke) You have obviously never had one. -
I speak French, in flawless Russian.

HereComesTheReignAgain replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
And the fact that you are cool with someone acting like an ass to a cop that is innitially being very professional, resisting arrest, deciding that they should be able to get in their car and leave after being told thay are under arrest and collecting $40,000 of taxpayer money says all I need to know about you. -

Uh-Oh, no more electricity.
HereComesTheReignAgain replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That is some serious preparation! It would be great to live off the grid, but from the little bit I have seen about it, the cost is outrageous to get started and you need to make some pretty big lifestyle changes to survive with the amount of electricity you can realistically produce. It would be nice to get a utility bill that read $0 though!
