  1. Depends on whether you hit on a QB or not. If you get your guy it accelerates the process if they build around him. They will build around him starting this offseason. Make sense enough?
  2. And they are a year removed from being in the playoffs and only losing 10-3, largely in part to the play of Tyrod.
  3. I want to see them be aggressive in FA addressing the needs of this team as well as filling the team out with draft picks. In the end it depends on what we are able to do. If there are obvious upgrades to help Allen out and he still looks the same then I'll probably be pissed too. What I expect is for him to improve as they improve the team around him and us to be back in the playoffs again for the 2nd time in 3 years next year.
  4. What did you honestly expect this year? SB contention? We had a huge turnover especially on the OL, were impeded by our cap situation, and were starting a rookie QB for most of the season. There has really been no help to take the pressure off of Allen in any way. It's simple math. The subtractions versus additions, combined with our schedule, didn't make me think it would equal more wins than last year.
  5. Again with all of the p***ing and moaning threads all over I just wanted to remind everyone this is really the first year of a rebuild. It's all this player sucks, we whiffed on this person or that person, we should have done this, we should have done that, this coach, that coach, the GM sucks, fire someone, fire everyone, it makes this board hard to read anymore. We lost 2 good OL'man and traded away another for whatever reasons they had. We have a rookie QB without much help, but has still basically been the entire offense this year. We have a rag-tag group of WR's who have not done much to help said rookie QB. No running game. A defense that isn't having the same good fortune as last year. You can post your QB ratings and think it proves something, blame coaching, who we signed, who we didn't sign, blame the GM, whatever. We have a young team at many key positions right now, a FA period with $90,000,000 to spend, and 10 draft picks coming up in 2019. If this was the end of next year I would understand, but it's not. I hope Santa brings you guys some Preparation H and a 3 pack of Puffs with lotion for Christmas.
  6. Allen is getting no help today. McCoy and Clay are done in Buffalo. Defense missing tackles. This doesn't look like it's going to be our day.
  7. There are a lot of people who don't understand the sarcasm of it because they haven't been here as long as the rest of us. It used to be quite the common statement when Buddy Nix was running things around here.
  8. And with that decline coaches and execs might look to jump ship instead of be part of a rebuild for the first time in 20 years.
  9. I think it may start this year, especially if we help continue their demise today and they have an early playoff exit. Brady is clearly in decline, Edelman is a shell of his former self without the roids, Hogan is a FA, Gronk looks like Frankenstein running around out there, and the defense doesn't have all of the plug-and-play impact players they once had.
  10. I liked Lynn. I thought he did well on an interim basis here. That being said, he landed in a good spot with the Chargers. They still have Phillip Rivers performing at a high level, Melvin Gordon, and a solid defense. I'm glad he got an opportunity and he has done well with it, but it doesn't make me regret us not hiring him as our HC.
  11. I dropped Henry about 7 weeks ago after 2 and a half seasons of absolutely nothing in my keeper league. Now he's the 2nd coming of Christian Okoye.
  12. This would be HUGE for Andrew Luck. It would give them a legitimate 3 year window to contend for a SB imo. They have addressed the OL. The defense is solid and can be further improved in the draft. They have Luck and Hilton already, two top tier options at the other skill positions on offense. They have Ebron who has had a breakout year. A couple more pieces on defense and another WR in the draft makes this team scary.
  13. I like the current rule. It's tough to swallow for the offense, but those are the breaks.
  14. Of course they discussed it, but LA didn't want to come off of the two 1st Rounders and three 2nds it would take to get him.
  15. Coney(LB), Tranquill(LB), and Dexter Williams(RB) from ND. All will most certainly be on an NFL Roster next year. Alize Mack should be, but I wonder. He has all of the athleticism in the world for a TE, but struggled with drops and his blocking assignments at times.
  16. Rusher I will admit to a certain extent. As a passer? Is that "according to the numbers"? Have you actually watched him play? I have. Allen's ceiling is CERTAINLY higher. He isn't even better than Josh right now. He also has a better team around him, especially along the OL.
  17. To have Lamar Jackson in front of Allen is absolutely laughable. To have Rosen in front of Allen is sketchy at best. To have Jackson and Rosen in front of Trubisky is ridiculous. Credibility level for any of these nerds? -3
  18. There is definitely a lot to like about Allen. His arm and athleticism are things you can't teach. When he sets his feet correctly then you see the accuracy. I'd like to see him hit a few more of those deep passes. He has missed some wide open guys this year. Hopefully a full offseason of work helps him to become more decisive as well. We need to help him by upgrading the talent around him, particularly on the OL and with the WR group. He looks the part considering he's just a rookie and there is a lot to be encouraged about.
  19. It's to the point now that I actually feel sympathy for the guy. It's obvious he has tried to change things, go through therapy, rehab stints, and whatever else. He just can't seem to keep it together. I hope he can for his life outside of football if nothing else.
  20. It's going to be interesting to see what BB wants to take away. More than likely it will be a scheme that limits JA's scrambling. Almost certainly someone will be spying Allen. But who will it be, a Safety or a LB? That will determine what level of the field has space. Can Allen read this and hit the open man? I think this game, because of how BB schemes, will tell us the most about how far JA has progressed imo.
  21. If it is PPR I'm starting Thielen. He's not the big play threat, but he may catch 10 passes for 80 yards and a TD possibly. Foster likely lined up against Gilmore with Safety help from McCourtey looks to be a tougher matchup imo.
