  1. First off Ngata is not that good. He has the size and POTENTIAL to be good in the NFL. A lot of people confuse potential and talent mainly because all of these "draft experts" are to afraid to commit to any particular player ever since Mel Kiper said he preferred Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning. DO NOT CONFUSE THE TWO! Into discussing Ngata's play. He didn't even play every down in college. In the bowl games this year he was pushed all over the field by a second round caliber player. How can you use your number 8 over all oick on a guy who doesn't even play every down in college. His pass rush is terrible, he had less than five sacks or something to that effect in his whole career at Oregon. In the cover 2, you do have to rely on your d-line to apply pressure so therefore Ngata would not fit into our system. We would have to pull him out on second and longs and third downs, so he would only be playing one down sometimes. Now think about it YOU WOULDN'T USE YOUR FIRST ROUND PICK ON A 3RD DOWN RUNNING BACK, WOULD YOU? He has the size but all in all as you can see in my mock that i think Bunkley and trading down are the better choices. Bunkley is not just a workout warrior as some have said. One of the Bills' largest problems last year was stopping the run, and i think getting a guy who broke his school record for tackles for losses is our kind of guy.
  2. I absolutely agree with that. Ngata is a smoke screen himself. The Bills brought him in for a visit and will end up trading down with a team like Baltimore because THEY REALLY WANT HIM.
  3. I'm sorry, i just don't think Ngata transfers well to the NFL. He didn't even play every down at Oregon and often slacks off on some plays. Against USC he was dominated on the inside and with a Cover 2 you want a good pass rush from your linemen. He does not have that capability. So please people, PLEASE, forget about Ngata.
  4. I think it should be D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Did you see the draft special that was on tv tuesday night? They had an entire segment where he just talks into the camera. He really enunciates everything that he says and the whole segment reminded me of when the Bills took Mike Williams. Is this an Omen? Bottom line is he is too nice to play the tackle position. You have to have a mean SOB who is willing to kick someone when they are down, not some 20 something year old boy that "likes to play the saxaphone".
  5. This signing means that we pretty much got Willis McGahee for free from the Falcons. God damn, the intelligence that is Marv Levy!
  6. Can anybody say that we are looking for Ruben Brown and Henry Jones.
  7. "I don't want Pro Bowl players, i want Super Bowl players". -Marv Levy
  8. I don't know about the linebackers. You can always pick one up as an undrafted free agent. For example: Mario Haggan and Josh Stamer.
  9. I know how ridiculous it is to try and map out the entire draft, but i have been looking at some names and statistics and i think that this Mock Draft would fit Buffalo perfectly... Round 1: Brodrick Bunkley, DT, Florida State (Michael Huff) Try to trade down and take Bunkley to solve DT problems. This may only be possible if a quarterback falls to Buffalo's position. Let's say it is Jay Cutler for an example. Jay Cutler is being wooed by Minnesota but i say we trade the pick to a team like Arizona or Cleveland. I say that we trade to one of those teams because Baltimore wants Bunkley or Ngata, and i would not want to give them the oppotunity to draft which ever one they like more. If we cannot trade down, we draft Michael Huff. Only due to the fact that Marv loves a good safety. i.e. Henry Jones and Kurt Schultz. I would prefer Bunkley. If we do trade down, we would most likely pick up a draft pick. In which case i think we should say it is a third round pick. 2.Mrcus McNeil, Auburn, OT I think it is absolutely vital that we get a stud tackle in this years draft. We all bought into the Donahoe b.s. about Mike Gandy or any other chump he brought in at tackle (Mike Williams) and thought we were set at the position. Jonas Jennings was lured out to San Francisco with more money than he can spend and more money than he is worth. McNeil would upgrade Buffalo's line almost instantly. 3a.Charles Spencer, OT, Pittsburgh I know you think he is a tackle, but i think he would have more success as a guard. He has the quickness to be very effective as a pulling guard and has the size to pass block. Also his experience at tackle would help with his pass blocking abilities. On a side note, Ruben Brown went to Pittsburgh and moved from tackle to guard and look at how well he turned out. Marv knows it is extremely important to have a guy like Brown as an anchor on your line. 3b.Demario Minter, CB, Georgia I know we don't need help at the starting corner position, but this would more be a nickel back selection so that we would not be relying heavily on Kevin Thomas - who is still recovering from surgery - Eric King, or Jabari Greer. 3c. (from Cleveland) Greg Blue, S, Georgia or Darnell Bing, S, USC Let's face it we need help at safety. I think Troy Vincent is fine but i think that it is quite frightening when you think that Coy Wire may start at SS. Wire is a good special teams player but cannot pass cover to save his god damn life. Blue or Bing would add the competitive nature needed at safety if we do not draft Huff. 4. Maurice Stovall, WR, Notre Dame Moulds' exit stage left has left a huge hole in the Buffalo offense. was it wrong to get rid of Moulds? It is too early to say. The one thing that is has left the Bills is without a receiver over 6'0". Stovall is a giant bulky guy who could be a serious threat in the red zone. This would take pressure off of Evans, Parrish, Reed, and Davis, and would give Losman one hell of a target to throw to. 5a. Kevin Boothe, OG, Cornell Now i know he is an Ivy League prospect, but Marv loves smart guys. Boothe would be a project guy that would have the probability on his side of working out. He is a logical pick when thinking of Marv Levy. He stands at 6'5", and weighs 325 pounds, so he is a giant. I think he would not be able to step right in and compete for a starting job, but i could see him replacing Villarial in a couple of years, if not next year. 5b. Leon Washington, RB, Florida State Shaud Williams is a scat back, not a back up running back. Leon Washington has the ability to move the ball upfield and has the size that Shaud Williams lacks. With the addition of Washington and the activation of Lionel Gates, i think the Bills could have a dominating backfield that would live up to the potential of being the "smash mouth" team Donahoe wanted. 6. Gerrick McPherson, CB, Maryland Another project pick with a lot of potential. He has not had an interception since his freshman year but i think that he could play on the practice squad and have time to develop. 7a. Brandon McKinney, DT, Michigan State Played for Michigan State and another guy who has potential and could potentially wipe LaWaylon Brown off the septh chart. 7b. Willie Reed, WR, Florida State As Donahoe proved, you can never have enough kick returners. That completes what i think would be a great draft for the Bills because it would fill the holes on our team with concrete instead of mud. Example of "mud": Bennie Anderson, "Concrete": Orlando Pace. So look it over and tell me what you think. If you think any adjustments are needed, suggest them. Until i get back, "Talk amongst yourselves."
  10. I would guess that Stovall might go in the third round. I really don't know who is interested in him, but i do know that the receiver pool is really shallow this year in terms of early round prospects. So he could go in the third, but unlikely that he would go in the fourth.
  11. I think its more like Tom Donahoe's. Can't you just picture this dialogue... Fairchild: "How would you know Dick?" Dick: "You have to keep this hush hush, butI saw him the one day when I came in for an interview. He was in the locker room with his shirt off with Mike Mularkey."
  12. "Dick has visions of when he goes into the Black Hole of Oakland"
  13. Duece Lutui, i forgot about him, yeah i would absolutely love if he came to Buffalo.
  14. You know, when it is not a matter dealing with how good Vince Young is, i generally agree with you, particualarly on this matter. Let me debunk a little myth for you since you probably don't see or hear the Bills speak. Nate Clements is a bumbling idiot who could not pick up the patterns of the American flag.
  15. I'm sorry but i just had to ask, is everybody getting sick of looking at mock drafts that only have the Bills drafting Haloti Hgata?
  16. See now i think if we pass on Huff in the first round and get Bunkley or Davis, then we should really look at Darnell Bing from USC in the second or third round depending on how long Marv thinks he will last.
  17. I said that i would like to see what you guys would like to have done in later rounds. You don't have to pinpoint exactly what is going to happen. Just think of some players that may be available and then think of need positions and things like that. I was also hoping that someone might be able to bring a name to the table that maybe people don't know a lot about.
  18. I wonder if the bag of balls is going to come inflated or if we have to do it ourselves.
  19. I could live with that analysis. I just find it humerous how at the beginning of last year everybody was talking about how Moulds was under rated and now they act as though he's nothing. I guess its just the nature of the beast. HAHA
  20. I feel as though people have beaten this dead horse about the #8 pick, and what should be done with it, multiple times, buried it, dug it up again, and persisted to beat the thing. What really makes a great team is one who drafts well in the later rounds. I was just wondering what you guys would like to see done in the later rounds with our other 8 picks. If you think we are trading down to pick up more picks, include them. The guy that i really want to see brought in is i think his name is Charles Spencer. Can anybody say Ruben Brown. Started at tackle, moved inside to guard, Pitt alumni. I was also thinking that if Maurice Stovall was available we could pick him up, mainly because he would give us a receiver that was over 6'0". I just thought this would be interesting because we all B word about the first round but hardly ever look beyond.
  21. No with all seriousness, another owner would have moved the Bills the second he realized the team wasn't making money and as soon as he realized there was an opening in LA. I don't think i would want another owner, because you know one thing is for sure with Ralph Wilson, you know the Buffalo Bills are going to stay in Buffalo. I just don't see that happening with another owner.
  22. I love this. A guy is loved when he is in Buffalo and the fans B word about how under rated he is. Then we trade him away and the guy becomes nothing. Eric Moulds is the second best receiver the Bills have ever had. PERIOD. The fact that you guys think that Nate Clements is going to shut down Eric Mould is just ridiculous. Mould has practiced with Nate, knows what his tendency's are, so on and so forth. (For those of you who are going to turn that around on me let me just say that Nate Clements, doesn't look like he studies anything). If Nate can't shut down Keenan McCardell how in the hell is he going to stop Eric Moulds. I think he will find out what all the hootin' and hollerin' is about once again, and so will the people who think Nate is going to win, as well as the people who hated Eric Moulds.
  23. I like Shaud Williams as well, i think he is an asset that Mike Mularkey and friends didn't know how to use. A player like Williams is a commodity and is more along the lines of a scat back than a solid back up. What i mean is, MM and friends didn't realize that a guy who is smaller than even Antoine Winfield is not going to be able to run the ball between the tackles. It's just absolutely ridiculous to even try it. A player like Shaud is better to be set in the shotgun, and he becomes your outlet in the flats on nothing more than 3rd and 8. Anything more than that, they are asking too much out of the guy beyond that, and then they scratch their heads when people in Buffalo think he is worthless.
