  1. I would have to agree with you on the whole not a cop out thing, i think i chose the wrong words. What i was really trying for was that TD + MM are on everybodies tongues right now and i think it is just your regular answer now. Other than that i would have to agree with you. I read an interesting stat somewhere that only the Bills, Texans, and i think the Browns are the only teams in the AFC not to make the playoffs since the turn of the millenium. Or it was something along those lines.
  2. What about the 2000 draft class. If you think about it, it was Butler's last year and all of those players that should've been developed and acting as team leaders as of right now are not there. Instead we drafted Erik Flowers with the first pick, Travares Tillman with the second, and so on. I think that this was a big contributor
  3. I'll agree its just that i think that with the high pick that it will take to get the more skilled linemen you are taking a higher risk in terms of a salray cap hit. I do agree that they are higher draft picks because of their ability, but you also have to admit that it can be crippling to their development in the long run. Sorry about the "hooked on phonics" thing, i was in a bad mood or something.
  4. I have been thinking about this and i was just wondering, what do you think was the key to Buffalo's destruction over the past few years? Don't just say something like Donahoe or any of those cop outs. I was thinking of something like draft classes by the Bills, free agent acquisitions, so on and so forth.
  5. You don't get the nickname "Duke" by being a pushover. I think if not this year, Preston will be able to move into a starting position on the line depending what we get in free agency. If we get Bentley or Hartings, i expect Preston to play LG. If not, i think you will see the Bills try him out at center seeing as Trey Teague is more than likely leaving the building.
  6. May i just say, in case any Bills personel is reading, that i would be more than pleased to go into the locker room and clear out all of the lockers of our tight end corps. They absolutely suck. But seriously, let me into the locker room with a crowbar and let me just break everything that is breakable in their lockers. Yes that includes the jar that holds all of their manhoods. Ryan Neufield is a complete waste of time, Mark Campbell had one good game, and Tim Euhus is just injury prone. Kevin Everett can stay but he's on thin ice as it is. Mainly because i have to ask, what kind of person gets hurt in mini-camp?
  7. Jason Peters i believe is just as fast as Keyshawn Johnson. Not like that's saying much, but damn that is fast for a 325 pound person.
  8. OJ Simpson and Ray Lewis are cut-throat football players
  9. It's understandable why Winston's stock is going down, and it was certainly happening before two months ago. In the game against Florida State, Winston absolutely blew! Kyle Wright got hit a record time that night and sacked for some kind of record also. And he is a mobile quarterback. And that was in the beggining of the season. If you ask me, you need to avoid anyone from Miami (Fl.) Offensive line because that is exactly what it is. Offensive. In this situation i think you would have to go with "duece" or darryl tapp. If you got Ngata in the first round, then you go offensive line in the second and maybe third depending on who is on the board.
  10. If Oakland or SF picks up Nagta, than that would mean that someone like Mario Williams - or we can all cross our fingers and hope for d'brickishaw - would fall to the Bills at #8. Not to mention, somebody like Michael Huff is on the board JIC.
  11. That is logically and pretty probable. Along with of course a replacement of some kind for Lawyer Milloy, seeing as he is nearing the end.
  12. I know, but the CBA is going to get dealt with mainly because the number of people that are for revenue sharing far out number those that are against it.
  13. I wasn't implying that TD had to tell you. I think Nate is very good. I actually have to agree with you on most of the things that you have stated.
  14. I know this was posted a while ago, I was just saying the Patriots would do it as a joke. Kind of playing on the fact that we recycle all of their trash and they find a gold bar in ours. In reality even Erik Flowers was picked up by the Steelers and Texans and bounced around the league for a few more years. Bottom line is that if you have the first round draft pick label you are going to stay in the league for a while. $#!t, Rob Johnson even got another job that wasn't screwing in light bulbs at some super market. As to the more than $1 million a year, i would have to say that he won't get it the first year but he'll have some kind of incentive in his contract that will give him more money. I don't think he is too worried about that anyway. I don't think Mike Williams is going to starve to death with the small amounts of money he was seen bording a flight from Buffalo to Houston with.
  15. I believe the Bills will cut either Lawyer Milloy or Sam Adams depending on what comes to them in the draft, and more importantly Free Agency. I know that Jeff Posey has been good in coverage for the Bills but does anybody know what he is supposed to make this year?
  16. If anything Adams would be cut on June 1st. As of right now the Bills don't have much at DT and they need Adams as an inusrance policy until they pick someone up in the draft or on the open market.
  17. I would prefer if Ferguson slipped up more mainly because he has the most athletic talent out of the o-linemen. If he doesn't slip up, i would seriously hope that Ngata will slip up. I think it is almost guarunteed that we get one of them
  18. I thought he was going to restructure. Oh well, i guess things work out better this way. $20 says the Patriots pick him up and turn him into a Pro Bowler.
  19. The main point of my post - for those of us who are hooked on phonics - is that it is not a necessity to draft linemen high, seeing as Buffalo has had success in the past with undrafted free agents, low draft picks, and so on. Examples: Kent Hull, Howard Ballard, and Jason Peters to name a few. But it is always a good thing to keep in mind. Especially in Buffalo's current situation. The other point that i was trying to make was that linemen don't always work out when they are drafted in the first round (Examples: Mike Williams, Bryant McKinnie, and Jordan Gross) mainly because of their size which limits them to their growth as a player (If you don't think linemen need good footwork, you need to put down the Madden controller and watch real football). And my final sentence about drafting Ngata, it is the only real move Buffalo has to make besides trading down. But based on the lack of depth at DT in this draft, Ngata is probably the best choice for the Bills' position in the draft and the best choice in terms of filling needs The initial argument was that you had to draft linemen high in order to have success in the NFL. I don't call that contradiction.
  20. I wasn't trying to argue i was just trying to say that Nate Clements is a little above mediocre, and i was just using examples of his bad playing to prove my point. I didn't mean to offend anybody but it is my firm belief that i need to see something out of him this year before i accept his status in the league as anything other than the Bills Digest/ Tom Donahoe hype. Maybe you weren't reading before hand but i agreed with the move.
  21. The fact that you have Ferguson falling that low is hard to believe, but if he did fall that low, i'm not sure SF would take him for sure. Don't forget that they did just lure Jonas Jennings out there last season with the way $12 million in signing bonus smells. Do you think that they are ready to toss in the towel on Jennings now, or do you think that SF thinks that they just got unlucky when he got hurt?
  22. What about an excuse for the poor play on Jimmy Smith in the opening game of last year at the end of the opening drive? Time is running out, Jacksonville is marching down the field and just need one big play to put themselves in scoring position. Leftwich tosses it deep down the left sideline where Nate Clements is man up with Jimmy Smith. All he has to do is make the play. WHAT DO YOU DO TOM? Knock it down! I wish he had, that ball was hung up in the air like a fishing line being cast into the water. Clements goes up to try and pick it off and instead of making the easy play, Smith catches it and Jacksonville ultimately wins the game in a big part to Nate's poor decision making on that play.
  23. Sorry for the last blog and the broken English, it's late and i have been awake for more than 18 hours. Just pick through it, i think you can figure out what i am saying. It's not in Chinese or anything.
  24. Let me just say once more that it is not important to draft linemen high in the draft. It is nice to have high draft picks on your line but not a neccessity. For example, Howard Ballard was drafted by the Bills in 1988 with a pick in what i believe was the 10th round. I think he worked out fairly well. Linemen of either side of the ball it is important to get the players that can play, but a guy like Pat Williams was an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in 1997, I don't know who was the top DT that year. Do you? And by the way, how is Ryan Sims doing in KC? I'm not saying it is a bad idea to draft o-line a d-line early on draft day, as a matter of fact i think it is pivitol to do so. But just because the guy has the title of a first round pick does not mean he is going to live up to that title. New England has a great coaching staff, and that staff is able to work with players and work the system around the players they have, not mold the players into what they want for their system. For another example, look at Denver's d-line, all former "busts" from Cleveland, but they go to Denver and miraculously they are all getting signed to extentions. Once again i think Buffalo should go with Ngata in the first round but also make a mental note of what i have said.
  25. KH is considered better because as of right now he is the people's champ in Buffalo for some reason. Jay Fiedler in his final year in Miami had a 7-8, td-int ratio, giving him a quarterback rating of 67.1. Let me put that in perspective. JP Losman in 2005 had a quarterback rating of 64.9 with a td to int ratio of 8-9. He wouldn't be that big of an improvement over Losman to begin with and certainly doesn't have the upside potential. Finally Michael Vick, who is possibly the most overrated player in the game to date, in 2005 had a quarterback rating of 73.1 with a td to int ratio of 15-13. Jay Fiedler doesn't even add the running capabilities that Michael Vick makes up for where his arm lacks. Do you still think Jay Fiedler is a good choice?
