  1. The more important question being how much were the Bills screwed by him not coming out last year? The logic being, if Leinart had come out last year, he could not have fallen so much this year, which means that with Cutler being the only quarterback available at the time Buffalo picked, how much higher would the demand have been for a team like Denver to draft Cutler? In other words because of the availability of grade A prospects at the quarterback position at that point in the draft, who thought that they could trade up for less with another team besides the Bills, and still get their hands on a quality QB prospect? Had Leinart come out last year, Buffalo would have been more than likely able to trade down and still get the guys that they wanted, and keep the picks that they traded for McCargo, and trade the picks they would have acquired through trade with a team like the Broncos, Eagles, or Rams.
  2. The thing that i find most interesting is that a guy like Jean-Giles has not appeared on Mel Kiper's best avaiable window on ESPN. Weren't the majority of the people slotting him to go early second, as well as Leonard Pope?
  3. Personally i don't think to many people besides Mayock had him slotted in the #8 spot. I think he could be a good pick up, but i'm not really sure if this is where i would've gone with the first round pick. That includes trading down, or the player that i would have drafted. If we had traded down, would the impact of drafting him be so hard felt, no. As a matter of fact i probably would've embraced the pick and the pick after. If we had traded down, we could have gotten McCargo for free.
  4. Instead he is a cheatin' bastard like the rest of the Titans. Instead of being in blue in red that is. I'm sorry, it was there i had to take it, and i still have hard feelings.
  5. I think the only real potential at starting OT is probably Jeremy Trueblood and I am unfimiliar with that guy from LSU.
  6. I wouldn't say people are giving up hope, i know that all i am looking for is Marv to address a need position. Offensive line is hands down the gaping area as of right now. The other guy that i would not mind is a guy like Leonard Pope if he lasts that long. The thing is do you use your third round pick as a luxury pick on a tight end, or do you address the need position no matter who is there? Max Jean-Giles would be the best player that we could hope for, but i'm not sure how much longer he is going to last. Anybody have any insite on people who we should keep an eye on much later in the draft?
  7. I would say Charles Spencer is the most likely, and the way it is going, Winston Justice may also be there as well. HAHA We all know that it is absolutely vital that Buffalo get o-linmen today, but we are going to have to look deep in the draft in order to find any of them worthy to draft. Any ideas, theories, or plans?
  8. McCargo will be fine, might have been a reach, but he'll be fine. Atleast we didn't give up our first for next year or something like that. The real question is, what o-linemen will be left when the Bills select again later on in the third round?
  9. I think the toughest thing about this pick at number 8 is that Matt Mayock saw it coming and had it in his Mock Draft. I'm sorry i hate Matt Mayock.
  10. I like the player i guess, but once again, like all the other people on the board, it was just a reach.
  11. Rather have cancer than Whitner with the #8 pick!
  12. Yeah i think Marv just dislocated his should reaching for Whitner.
  13. First off, I hate this positive bullsh*t that some people are speaking. That is not what draft day is about in Buffalo. Second off, I was outside smoking a cigarette when i came to a revelation. I think Whitner probably has adopted more children than Angelina Jolie and is a real character guy. That is why we drafted him.
  14. Marv, let me tell you, I would not have minded this pick at 14 or 15, but with number eight and no additional picks, !@#$ that. Instead we blew it, I think this is a Dick Jauron pick really and i think this shows of the incompetence that Bills fans can come to expect over the next few years.
  15. Marv, what the @%#* were you thinking? This is possibly the dumbest move we could have made! We could have traded down so many spots and picked up more people and still gotten Whitner.
  16. Did you see Conan O'Brien the other night when Reggie Bush was on?
  17. Here is an interesting thing, ALex Smith and Reggie Bush played on the same high school team. So i could see SF trading up to get him as he would have the chemistry with Alex Smith, not to mention he would give SF a sudden impact player.
  18. I think D'Brick is the next Mike Williams. Has anybody heard him speak? I think he is way too nice of a guy to have success in the NFL, and I especially don't think he is nasty enough to play tackle in the NFL. I think the Bills need too much to have success in the near future, and free agency didn't get it done, so we will be relying heavily on the draft. It would be stupid for the Bills to trade up so we could get one guy instead of multiple players. I don't know who the Bills are going to take as some drafts have Brodrick Bunkley and Vernon Davis going before the Bills pick. If we don't trade down with a team that needs a QB, I think Michael Huff will be our pick in that scenario.
  19. You guys are right near Joe Bruno Stadium right? That is different. I dodn't expect that.
  20. Last time i went to the draft was in 2004 when we got Losman and Evans, and we had to show up the night before at MSG and stand outside for several hours. They then open the doors and give bracelets to people. THe whole thing ends at about 2:00 AM and then you have to be there at 7:00 AM where you sit around and do absolutely nothing until around 11:30, when they let you sit down. The time before that, we showed up the day of the draft and as people left, they let people in.
  21. No NC State is going to be swamped with applicants now because Mario Williams was the #1 over all pick. The reason being because now they have the limelight tomorrow, and how many people will soon know about their up and coming football program? The over all point being that applications to schools increase if a sporting event at that school is doing well. So once again, GOD DAMN YOU REGGIE BUSH!
  22. Not only has the only thing that has been crammed down my throat by ESPN, Reggie Bush, but now he has to go and pull this sh--. Two months ago i considered transferring to NC State from Hudson Valley Community College thinking that i would have a good chance to get in. Now that Mario Williams is the first overall pick, there will be an increase in applicants to NC State. In other words, i could potentially be screwed! God damn you Reggie Bush!
  23. One of the Bills' main problems last year was stopping the run, and we had Sam Adams. Haloti Ngata is Sam Adams Jr. Adams didn't do anything last year in terms of stopping the run so why would we want another Adams. Brodrick Bunkley on the other hand is a beast against the run, and he was doing it at FSU. So i don't think it is just because FSU is on TV more than Oregon in this part of the country. I've said it before and i'll say it again, the first problem with Ngata is that he didn't play every down when he was at Oregon and i don't think you use the eighth over all pick on a guy who doesn't play every down. In his career at Oregon, Ngata only had three sacks in his junior year. In a cover 2 you need your defensive lineman to penetrate and apply pressure in order to have success. 3 sacks is not going to cut it. He is said to be an unfinished product and needs to work on his effort that is given on every play. In the bowl game he played in this year he was dominated left and right against a second round pick. I just think that Bunkley is a better pick because he is not a project like Ngata. A guy like Bunkley will come in and make an impact immediately and we don't have to wait around hoping that our pick pans out like we did with Mike Williams.
  24. I like Ferguson, but i think we already had an experience with an extremely nice and polite tackle and i really don't feel like trying to find the beast in another. But i just have to say that if Ferguson does fall, not based on the fact that i would be excited but instead on the fact that i would be utterly shocked, i would piss my pants. It's not going to happen so i think my boxers will remain dry.
  25. Anything is possible on draft day, i mean hell we drafted Erik Flowers in the first round. I think one of those guys could end up going earlier than expected and i think if anything it would be Jean-Giles. Still it is possible that they are all taken before the Bills pick, but then hopefully a decent player falls to us or something.
