  1. While short passing can be effective, you cant't do it exclusively. 2. The one thing that caught my eye was his over-running plays and then being out of position--the same negatives that were in his draft profile: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tremaine-edmunds?id=32462018-0002-5600-62d0-412c60099aca Hopefully, he'll continue to absorb the coaching and reps like a sponge and file off those sharp edges. But it may be putting too much on a 20-year old to do that in his first training camp and four exhibition games. He'll be a key to the season, one way or another...
  3. Bupkis. He's Ryan Fitzpatrick 2.0. He can be an effective spot starter and look good against certain teams. But he can't throw with enough velocity to get a team through any kind of sustained playoff run--when sometimes the QB has to put the team on his back and carry it. Or get out of tough down and distance jams that require throwing more than 15-yard lobs. You want a perennial 8-8 record? Nate's your man...
  4. Agreed. Nate's lack of arm strength was on display again tonight. He was effective getting the ball out quickly but some of those throws were duck-like, just as they were last year. I suspect having a scripted first series probably helped, as did pretty solid protection by the O-line. OTOH, his TD was a thing of beauty so he's still in the conversation. Bottom line, he's effective against zone coverage but a disaster waiting to happen against tight man-to-man or when forced to throw the deep out. I'll give him his props tonight but I suspect the defensive book on him is pretty much set--rush five, get in his face and take away the safety valve outlets...
  5. Great half. Major kudos to the coahing staff...
  6. Got to be a Bills pre-season record so far for completion percentage...
  7. First action he's seen in almost 18 months. It's a process...

  9. That would seem to apply to the entire Brownies organization based on their performance while Coleman was there...
  10. Ah....you do know that Trump appointed the U.S. attorney who brought the charges against Collins, right? https://www.newsweek.com/trump-sessions-southern-district-new-york-geoffrey-berman-russia-investigation-770828
  11. Saw a great show by Jeff Beck at Artpark last night. He's an interesting guy--he might have said about 10 words all night. I guess he let's his ax do the talking...
  12. Out celebrating his move up the depth chart, no doubt...
  13. Over two broken hands and a pulled groin? That seems unlikely,...
  14. No, not unless he recently changed agents. He was with Athletes First (David Mulugheta) when he was drafted.... http://sportsagentblog.com/2016/04/26/2016-nfl-draft-prospects-agents/
  15. I think Richie could actually be quite effective. He'd be sort of like Mongo in Blazing Saddles--the DT's would want nothing to do with a crazy-ass guy who might punch a horse...
  16. I can't believe the 49ers didn't think of this first...
  17. Condon is Josh Allen's agent. Given that he's meeting with a mid-level administrator, they're probably working on some detail of Allen's contract... 2018 Draft Choices by Agent: http://sportsagentblog.com/2018/05/02/2018-nfl-draft-player-agency-breakdown/

  20. "Hall had been the in-game host for the Sabres for the last six seasons. Her primary role is as a multimedia journalist for Pegula Sports and Entertainment, contributing to digital coverage of the Bills and Sabres. https://buffalonews.com/2018/08/06/rich-gaenzler-97s-rocks-bull-adds-sabres-in-arena-host-to-duties/
  21. Hopefully, this is another "Browns Being Browns" move by Cleveland: https://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/08/corey_coleman_could_never_esca.html CLE being down on Coleman because he broke his hand two consecutive years seems odd--what's he supposed to do, tell his bones to heal faster? https://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/06/todd_haley_advises_corey_colem.html The good news is, its a no risk move. The Bills are only on the hook for $3.548 million in Coleman's salary over the next two years--essentially chicken feed. At that kind of cost, he can be valuable even as a situational player.
  22. Ah, a Padawan for Shady. Cool....
  23. Nope, not the dinosaur era, for sure, but also not the "player's coach" style predominant today. While there are still a few "old school" types around (Belichick, Marrone, McCarthy, maybe Tomlin), there are a lot more Doug Pederson types who let the players be more individualistic. Is TO any more of a locker room diva than Beckham, Bryant or Marshall...
