  1. The only realignment the NFL needs: - Buffalo to AFC North - Baltimore to AFC East Done.
  2. Its either Erin Andrews or Carrie Millbank. Anyone voting for Rachel Nichols or Hannah Storm or the like... really needs to have their eyes checked. EDIT: Dana Jacobson is disgusting. Andrea Kramer looks horrible. Rachel Nichols is vomit inducing.
  3. As a rabid Simpsons fan, that is what I thought they were saying at first. However, the more they play it, the more I'm convinced they're saying PURPLE DONKEY. Not sure where it comes from...
  4. "This is what spectator sport should be like -- fast, fun, simple, raw at the edges and just a little bit magical." AB-SO-FREAKIN'-LOUTELY!!!
  5. Haha. I supposed I walked right into those responses. But seriously... anyone?
  6. ... but does anyone know what the heck all this "purple donkey" talk is before and during their lead-ins? I know they're splicing various audio tracks together with several athletes and celebrities to get the desired effect, but where does this "purple donkey" crap come from in the first place??? So confused.
  7. Those hacks have listeners? Outside of Cowturd, they might be the two worst sports radio personalities in America.
  8. No offense, but I hate that loser attitude. I'd rather get swept by Miami and the Pats every single year if it meant we went 12-4, let alone just Miami. Win your games. I don't care who you play. Get into the playoffs, anything can happen. A loss to Miami is no different than a loss to the Jets or the Pats or the Cardinals or the Broncos or the 49ers or the Chiefs or the Bears or the Saints...
  9. But... but... but... only Buffalo has misbehaved fans!!! Buffalo has the hooligans and drunks and brawlers, not Cincy!!! EVERYONE knows the worst fans in the world are in Buffalo, nowhere else!!! [/sarcasm] Until you start charging new Cowboys Stadium-like prices at your local stadium, you're going to get dudes who want to start s--t. Deal with it, NFL.
  10. Downtown only? Pearly Street, WJ Morrissey's by the arena... Irish Times, I suppose? Probably more people/better atmospheres if they headed into Allentown or Elmwood Village.
  11. I hate the Dolphins as much as anyone, but realignment into a DIVISION with Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincy would have been preferable.
  12. I went there for several years when I lived in Boston. Usually gets a good (albeit fairweather... when the team is mediocre, nobody shows up) crowd, so get there at noon or sooner for a 1pm start. Food is horrible, though. Be prepared for "America's Worst Sandwich" at halftime, soggy wings and a terrible third dish (usually some crappy pasta... although one time four or five years ago they DID break out Swedish meatballs, which were fantastic). Last time I was there while visiting friends, the menu had been reduced as well, and the quality of the food had suffered immensely.
  13. Along with Steve Smith and Steven Jackson. Add Lee to the list of Bills appearing with Rome this season, which currently includes Darian Barnes (discussing Favre and his comic book preseason), Donte Whitner and Trent Edwards (radio AND tv show).
  14. Scott himself said in a post-game interview that he was being utilized at SS (with Whiter at FS) to put a bigger body on Gates. What puzzles me, then, is why Ko didn't see the field in other defensive packages. When Whitner was moved to CB in certain nickle or dime situations, George Wilson often came in. Wonder what's going on...
  15. This is an actual LaDarius post: "I will give the Bill FO credit - they can spot coverage talent that the rest of the NFL cannot. The rest of the NFL "discovers" coverage talent at the combine. The Bills actually watch the games." Eric King hasn't been remotely good since he left Buffalo. Justin Geisinger can hardly get off the Redskins practice squad.
  16. Why? He's fine where he is. We don't need a Josh Reed clone playing alongside... Josh Reed.
  17. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Mort made this up COMPLETELY. That's right, a 100% lie. First of all, anyone who's watched even one defensive series Stroud has played this season would see he is pretty darn near close to being the Pro Bowl DT he was a few years ago. He had no tackles against JAX, but anyone who watched that game saw him constantly blow up the middle of the Jags offensive line. Same for the Oakland game, where no matter what the numbers say I constantly saw Stroud disrupting nearly everything the Raiders offense threw at our defense. I won't even go into the Seattle game, where he flat-out dominated the entire field. Second of all, does anyone honestly believe Mort has talked to any of the interior linemen for the Seahawks, Jags or Raiders? I can't say for sure, obviously, but I'm going to say "no, he hasn't." This is a pure, 100% fabrication on Mort's part, and I'm going to take that to the bank. Even keeping his distaste for the Bills out of the equation, the guy has little credibility left as a reporter. He's just one of those "football guys" ESPN trots out there as an "expert."
  18. RECAP: - getting to 3-0 feels great - prediction to make playoffs wasn't just a message to the team, but to the league that a young team with improving players had arrived. All the pieces are in place, we've got talent, we put in the work which makes gameday easier. Ready to improve, ready to get better. - didn't care for Higgins' showboating. We respect our opponent, we want their respect. Had to show Higgins how we play. - yesterday wasn't a game we win last year. We have confidence, we will continue to fight, have been through adversity, last year built us up. We'll play until there's 0:00 on the clock. - the team has A LOT of confidence in Trent. He has worked his tail off, studies hard, works hard all year long from OTA's through the season. People want to emulate his work ethic. - $175 shot at the Chop House is TRUE. Donte and crew will be back there tonight, he'll be taking out some D guys and a bunch of ST's guys because they work hard and deserve the team's appreciation. Playoff win should get me a car! hahahaha - we're going to continue to work hard and win. Wins are big for the community. Rome knows what its like in Buffalo, struggling town, live and die by the Bills... Donte agrees it is similar to Columbus, where people go nuts for the team. - yesterday was one of the loudest games he's played in his entire career. - Jim loved the interview. Recapped Whitner, Barnes and Edwards coming on... said "Bills are a great jungle team." Overall, a solid interview. Donte is the man.
  19. Interesting. Suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. I hate the white-on-white and blue-on-blue, but so be it. I think one thing we can ALL agree on is (a) the current throwbacks should be our home unis, (b) they should develop a white version of the throwbacks to use as our away jerseys, © both should go with the current throwback pant and sock combination (with black cleats), and (d) the throwback helmet should be utilized full-time. All that said, they never should have changed away from this: http://www.geocities.com/bflobuzrd_2000/thurman02.jpg
  20. An easy way to improve the current uniforms (which aren't going anywhere, unfortunately) would be to wear them the way they were intended... blue jerseys with white pants, white jerseys with blue pants. That way, the stripes match up (which is the worst part about when the jersey match the pants, in my opinion), there isn't sensory overload with one color (all blue or all white)... everyone wins. There's no way this (blue-on-blue): http://www.dailynewsgroup.com/pics/padn/40...dn/2007-9-12-ed looks better than this (blue-on-white): http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/03iTaGa5YGd0O/340x.jpg Or this (white-on-white): http://www.billszone.com/gallery2/d/3204-2...ffalo_bills.jpg Looks better than this (white-on-blue): http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/02g4bdm1IKgEf/610x.jpg All that said, these (throwbacks) are the best uniforms in franchise history: http://cdn.faniq.com/images/photos/photo_l...76/25976-19.jpg
  21. Used to go to The Harp for several years when I lived in Boston. Do they still serve America's Worst Sandwich at halftime? That terrible 6-foot long sub that's all bread, wet and spoiled lettuce, and been-sitting-in-the-sun-for-an-hour mayo? Couple that with the mediocre wings and the usually terrible third dish (more often than not that crappy pasta... WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE DELICIOUS SWEDISH MEATBALLS?), and you've got the makings of the worst buffet in the NFL. That said, its a great place to watch a Bills game, and the annual raffle is top-notch.
  22. Now we only need to squeeze ONE monster game from the Walker-Chambers combo. Whew! Next, the Seahakws. After that, a contract for Lee Evans... and yes, Peters.
  23. This is a pretty weak argument. I'll give you McGee, but... 1 - Greer did not show he was a "good" corner last year. He showed he was serviceable. 2 - You're using events of the last month (camp, pre-season) to prove a point about an event several months ago (the draft). Nobody knew Youbouty or Corner would show "enough to beat out a veteran" or be "surprising." If they had drafted a LB but Youbouty stunk up the joint in pre-season and Corner played down to the level of a high-round pick, would you be complaining that they shouldn't have drafted a LB and should instead have taken McKelvin? 3 - the Bills DID draft a LB... he got hurt in the preseason and is out for the year. Nothing you can do about that.
  24. Schoebel has lined up at DE his entire career. Say what you want about him, but he's held up pretty well over there, put up some very good sack numbers. To move him to LB now might... just MIGHT... be the dumbest suggestion we've heard yet.
  25. Then it wouldn't be hearsay, now, would it? If its true that he would only miss a month or so and the Bills put him on IR for WHATEVER reason ("revenge," roster spots, etc.), I'm going to be pissed. But until then, this useless exercise in "if this is true..." is a waste of all our time.
