I go to the fins game every year, usually with a couple of buddies who are fish fans. I am not old by any stretch (35) but its always the young guys who talk shiiiite. When I was in my early 20's I would react....badly. Now I smile and walk away. As long as they aren't threatening me physically or in arms length I don't care. But 90% of the time it is never an issue. We usually tail gate with the fins fans next to us and its all cordial. for as fair weather as the fan base is the majority is clueless and polite. As for Bills fans in Buffalo. Its the same as above. I was at the Fins/Bills game during the Losman/Culpepper era. As I am going to get a beer the this poor 12 year old or so was wearing a Culpepper jersey. As he's waiting outside the bathroom for his dad to come out, a crowd of young douche bag fans start surrounding him and chanting !@#$. this poor kid was beyond scared, I grab the kid and took him up the tunnel all while getting yelled at by our own fans. Takes all kinds. Moral: dont be a douche bag and treat people the way you want to be treated.

I'm not arguing the pick. As I stated I was playing Devil's Advocate that we are going to just pound the ball 70% of the time. We did add talent to the offense, its apparent. Who cares if the draft was two seasons ago, it defines the F/O plans for the future. Regardless of what the defense gives you, when you have a dynamic player like Sammy, you find way to get him the ball. NOT force into double coverage like others mentioned in the thread, isolate him, put him in motion, line him up as a RB. Maybe Roman has plans to do so, just spouting off here.

Playing devil's advocate here, then why go and trade up for Sammy if this was going to be how you run your system...the better pick would have been the best OL available or trading out for other talent. I like Sammy but agree that the best WRs in the game find ways. Its week 1 and I am not panicking but I bet Sammy ain't happy...

Cassel also sat behind the best QB of our era as well as coaching. He should be that much ahead of both EJ and Taylor

Best assessment of EJs mechanics I have seen on this sight thus far. These were the same issues that plagued him at FSU. The reason they weren't as glaring is Fisher told him to read one side of the field then take off. He had a primary and secondary and that's it. He can execute and is very cerebral, almost to the point of over thinking. When he reacts quick it's not an issue. Like I've said before he just needs time..... But that may not be a luxury at this point. I'm rooting for the guy. On another note, I believe people have sources here. But if they are that loose lipped with the teams information it's a sad state at OBD. I got a feeling Taylor is the guy, but I don't like it. I'll trust the coaches here though. Here's to a 12 win season and hosting Vince's hardware!!

This is the nfl, you don't throw bones to guys. If this was a a done deal Taylor would be the one going against Pits first team D. Get over it, EJ is still in the mix and Cassel will look great with his hat on, mouth full of seeds and ear piece.

thats about right. I got Mccoy on the 2nd and Sammy in the 8th or so (steal IMO) but missed out on the Bills D, they went 7th.

Personally I think Cassel is the odd man out. They will keep him regardless but this is a two horse race between EJ and The Rod..

All 3 will get time with the ones is a loaded statement. All of our play makers with the exception of Clay are out. In the 3rd game the OL plays well into the 3rd qtr or so. The key is seeing EJ against Pits #1s. This is a glaring indictment of what the coaches think. Believe what you want but there are no "smoke screens" or conspiracies. As an FSU fan I am rooting for the kid, I knew his issues in college but some guys need more time to figure it out. Errant throws in practice are what they are, they all have them. If this board judged Peyton out after his first year stats, we would all say bust. I know, EJ is no Peyton, but with the right CONSISTENT COACHING he can be Big Ben or a version of him.

The defense didn't lose that game. We played horrifically on offense. Our Defense was done by the 3rd qtr.
