This team isn't nearly as talented as those guys were. You put up with things at a certain level but even the bickering Bills had checks and balances.

That's the crux of this entire thing. Can they draft well. It's a new unproven regime, but it's what we have to lean on. All we can do is hope they put the right people in the right place. It was obvious the disconnect between scouts, front office and whomever wanted lay say or control. Whaley was in over his head from the beginning. Made a few good moves but panicked and was impulsive on others. Can't have that at this level with that big of a spot light.

Great post John and exactly what I have said from the get go. Some people just need something to complain about. We are all sick and tired of being sick and tired. It seems they are finally headed in the right direction. No more band aids. It's sucks to let Watkins go considering the price and how far it has set us back. This franchise is so wayward it's not even funny. Let's hope they hit on the draft and start building that foundation. That's all we can do at this point is hope.

What does that tell you? We covet the draft pick and not the player. It's a rebuild folks, just sit back and let it happen. They could have offered Johnson for Watkins straight up but it wouldn't come with the 2nd rd pick. They want to build their own team and I can't blame them.

You want to pay him on potential. He hasn't earned it and his history of injuries is beyond a concern. Congrats on the addition! All the best!

Excellent take and why I am 100% behind it. Finally a plan to build rather than throw money and draft picks down the drain. Did any of us really come to this board as frequently as we do and believe Tyrod is the guy. We have seen the +/- and he doesn't pass the test....this whole regime is very Belichekian, bring guys in that fit your culture and when it's time to cut bait maximize your return. I loved Sammy too when we drafted him and have been a life long FSU fan and saw Darby at his best. Let's at least try and build a winner from the ground up rather than sticking industrial band aids on every position. If we win 7 games and are there in the end and play good football that's a win for me, I am a realist when it comes to what this team is. And hopefully this wakes up a few other guys who are on the fence that no one is completely safe unless you buy in.

Let's be honest here... while Watkins is a stud the production hasn't been there due to injury and it's a sign the Bills weren't going to pay him in the offseason so might as well get rid of him now. Darby is confusing but was lost last year and with the new trade not needed. Glad they got Mathews though. Solid WR.

I was listening to The Joe Rose show and he was at fins camp when it happened. Local sports show, anyhow he's in mid interview with a columnist from the palm beach post talking about the canes and just stops mid sentence. Said he fell in a heap after being chased by Suh.... and it didn't look good. Same knee as last year...

Wow. That's a horrible parallel to draw. One was the top pick, Heisman winner and National champion....the other was kicked out of a top program and was average at best.

I can only speak of the Fins since I live here now but they always have special events for alumni. I don't see a whole lot wrong with knowing more about the places history that's employing you.
