Nix missing the boat with LB talk?
apuszczalowski replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but Buddy Nix would say "Nowadays you need a QB who can run and scramble" and we would get posts here about how Buddys missing the boat and how QBs need to be able to1. Throw the Ball 2. Throw the ball 3. Throw the Ball -
Funny thing about those who say Tebow is fake, but Lewis is believable is that with Tebow I don't think I have ever seen the guy get overly preechy with anyone. Is "Tebowing" any different then Kaepernick kissing his bicep, Aaron Rodgers "Discount Double check", or Cam Newton "Supermaning" after scoring? Its the media thats always bringing up Tebow and his faith and talking about it. I don't think he has said anything more then what Warner ever did when he was playing. The difference is that everyone wants to tear Tebow down because he had huge success in college and he hasn't suceeded in the NFL. I have never seen him try to grab the cameras attention by showboating or to preach, the cameras are usually running to him to try and catch him doing something. The difference between him and Lewis's preaching is that I don't recall there ever being a time where Tebow didn't have "Faith" and was not strongly religious. Its not like he was any different in college and once he got to the NFL he started getting religious, it also doesn't look like it took any jail time for him to find God

apuszczalowski replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So because he said that you have to have linebackers who can cover, it means that he doesn't believe they have to be able to stop the run? Maybe, just maybe, he knows that but thinks its more important to have LBs now that can also cover players, seeing as how typically LBs have always been guys that are supposed to be good at stopping the run. Nah, he must mean that LBs should only be able to cover and not stop the run If you have LBs that can only stop the run and can't cover, teams will just beat you with the pass instead of beating you with the run............ -

No one is lusting over the scraps here, the question was asked by the OP of "Would you bring him in for a tryout?"For those that are a little slow, they can bring him in for a tryout like they do with many players not under a contract and take a look at them without having to offer them a contract or pay them. If you don't like what you see, you say thanks for coming, have a nice flight home. No one is saying sign the guy and don't look anywhere else, make him the #1! People are just saying they would be willing to take a look at him in a tryout. Of course that would make it harder for eveyone to cry about later on how the front office is so incompetent for not considering him if he gets picked up and has a decent outing one day............. -
Does anyone know if they reset the "countdown to Rays retirement" billboard in Boston to next Sundays game?

I didn't know Neanderthals were extinct, I thought they were still around but going under the name 'Philly Sports fans"? -
How do you know that God doesn't sit in his recleiner in the living room every sunday in his Brady jersey cheering on his favorite team to win and affecting the outcome of the game while eating nachos and having a beer? If its not god affecting the outcome of the games, then who is it? My guess is Goodell or the networks. Is it just a coincidence that the Ravens came close to not making the playoffs, then go out and beat the Colts, the Broncos, and the Pats to get to the Superbowl in Lewis' last season for a matchup of Brother against brother HC's? There was no better scenario this season for the networks............

There is nothing to lose in giving the guy a workout in training camp if he drops the extrta weight. The guy has the physical tools to play the game, and thats the one thing you can't just teach someone. No one is saying to sign the guy and make him the starter on day #1 while not drafting a QB or finding one in FA. People are just suggesting that if he works hard this offseason and shows hes commited by getting the weight down, why not bring him in for a workout to see what he has? We all know that if he makes another team and throws a pass thats complete, the majority of this board will have their pitchforks and torches ready to run the front office out of town for not atleast taking a look at him and exploring every option -

And he is in a position to be able to do all this charity work. I don't think there is anyone on this board that makes close to what Lewis does in a year, and gets months of time free to be able to devote time to doing charity work. Most of us make a fraction of his wage over multiple years, and have to work 40+ hours a week, every week every year. Sure he could do nothing and just collect his checks, giving nothing back, but how many athletes do that? Most teams require they do charity work and work in their community. His charity work could be genuine, but it could also be because he feels guilt over his past, he is required to do it in his contract and being in the NFL, or as a way to get tax breaks and to help himself financially. -

Pete Rose one of these days is going ot just lose it Seriously, I know that its different sports and different incidents but c'mon, I think he might be the only one in pro sports who has not had his ban lifted/forgiven. I wouldn't be surprised if lance Armstrong is allowed to race in the tour de France before Pete Rose has his ban lifted by MLB -
I went to 2 of those games The Saints game, and one of the Giants games (can't remember which one, but I think it was the '07 one, it was rainy in the morning then temperature dropped like a rock by halftime when it started to snow) I was also at a pre-season Bears/Cardinals game the year the Bears went to the Superbowl

What should the Bills do at #8?
apuszczalowski replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, ause going 'D' in the 1st round for the last few years has really helped turn the franchise around! -
Actually, the difference between the 2 suits is that in one (Criminal), they have to prove that you are guilty without a shadow of doubt, in the other (Civil) you have to prove that you had nothing to do with the crime, but can still be found guilty even if theres a chance you were innocent. If Ray was as innocent as everyone here says and had nothing to do with it, and has people that can back up this claim, why would anyone not fight this charge in court and get off without paying anything?

So lets get this sorted out for eveyone before we go further Evil people whos opinions don't matter and should never be viewed as Role Models/Heros Oj Simpson Michael Vick Wes Welkers Wife Anyone else associated with the patriots Tim Tebow People who the Vatican should consider for Saint hood Ray Lewis -
Vick had a trial, went to prison and served his time, came out a changed person, yet he is still dragged through the mud and looked down upon because what he did was to dogs.No one really knows what happened that night with Lewis, and from what it sounds/looks like, there wasn't enough evidence to prove anything so plea deals for testamony and for lesser charges (self defence) we're agreed to for closure on the incident. Again, If Ray was so innocent and just a by-stander at the time, why would he not testify and why would he be so willing to pay off the victims families? And of course only good truly forgiving people find God after events like that. He seems to be a very good upstanding religious person with his multiple wives. Sorry if some prefer to hold a higher standard for praising people and aren't so forgiving just because they are good at playing a game that being involved in a situation where you help protect the killing of 2 people isn't just forgiven

I saw a little of B J Auction last night, saw the 69 Bronco that went for over $500k, I think it was for a military charity. I wish I had a small portion of the money that somepeople have that attend this auction every year.......... -
Exactly, Who cares, He is an awesome football player so he should be idolized and put on a pedestal rather then looked down upon for possibly having a role in a murder.......... people need to let things like that go, he is good at playing a game for a living and thats all that matters, he said he found God, so all should now be forgiven.....
