  1. They should, because Ruvell Martin needs to go.
  2. The guy is universally heralded by the media. All. The. Time. And for no reason other than he plays for Dallas. And sure, he played an ok game against the Jets. He plays a lot of ok games--he doesn't play a lot of awesome ones. Among the Qs who played for teams at or near 6-10 last year, which one do you hear about the most--as a "game-changer," a "star," a "franchise Q"? Do you hear about the Q for Miami? Washington, Cleveland, Tennessee, Detroit, or Minnesota (ok, he left)? San Fran or even Oakland (8-8)? Nope. You hear about Romo as if he were a top-five Q in the NFL. He's not. Not even close. If you put Fitz in Dallas, he does slightly better than Romo. If you put Romo in Buffalo, he does about as well as Fitz. Dude is overrated, bigtime.
  3. Uh...yes. If Romo were the QB in Seattle or Jacksonville, we wouldn't hear a thing about him. He's successful (reputation-wise) because he plays in Dallas and not vice-versa. F, Clint Stoerner was a household name for a few weeks just because of the cowgirls. EDIT: Oh, and let's not forget Quincy Carter, either.
  4. There was, is not now, and never will be, an excuse for that game. Pittsburgh was completely rolling over and the should-have-been-playoff-hungry Bills lost to a bunch of guys chasing roster spots on other teams for the next season. You are absolutely right on.
  5. For those who are angry, see tonyhomo.com . It's a parody blog "by" Drew.
  6. I don't think you got his point, either. He's not talking about the players being jerks; he's talking about the fear of non-whites that is, unfortunately, pervasive throughout WNY. See above. (You also could just read the comments in any online Buffalo News article any time a non-white person is arrested for a crime in the Buffalo area.)
  7. Very clever. Thanks for posting it.
  8. He may be right. There's a lot of fear of non-whites in Buffalo. I'm not sure it was meant in poor taste; it could be an honest (and accurate) criticism of our community. (If MIke Grier showed up on my doorstep, I'd call AARP and not 911.)
  9. Suck this.
  10. Guess I gotta just disagree, then. It's the eve of preseason (5 days away from first game, 3 from training camp), the team's youngsters are on TV tonight, and there was a major signing today. It's not like they dedicated the whole morning to it, like a few people have said. EDIT--also, I'm pretty sure that in this market, the NHL is second in popularity among every sport we've seen mentioned so far. Not 6th or 7th. And it's a local broadcast.
  11. Not sure about NASCAR; I've heard that it has fallen off. More importantly: doesn't matter; McDonald's is a lot more popular than most of the restaurants that I eat at, too. That doesn't mean I eat at 5th- and 6th-rate restaurants, does it? Soccer is more popular than football. Are you a big soccer fan? Do you only follow things that are popular? Or are you just the guy who has to point out that what someone else likes isn't something that he likes?
  12. Hell, I watch hockey over PRO football. Always have. Always will. Doesn't make me less of a Bills fan just because I like another sport better.
  13. Plenty of mornings were spent, in part, discussing the NFL draft when the Sabres were in a playoff run, too. I have no idea what OP's agenda was, but it's simply incorrect that they didn't talk football this morning.
  14. That's not true. In fact, they spent some time talking about how they felt unfairly criticized for talking football three days after a game. It's possible that you only listened to the interview with Jordan Leopold (which was scheduled and is normal just before a preseason) or the discussion about the Myers contract (which is big news), but they definitely did not spend the entire morning talking hockey.
  15. I'm 99% certain that a tee is not required. The question is whether it would be easier to get the "pop" off of the tee, or off of a ball lying on the ground, or off of a ball held by a holder (with, or actually, even without, a tee). Which is the best way to manipulate (pedipulate?) a football?
  16. I think Perry Fewell played Ross Tucker on "Friends." Someone else played Sam Chandler.
  17. Who the hell is Sam Chandler? Does OP mean the tight end, Scott Bradford?
  18. You've gotta link to comedy that good.
  19. Don't know who that is, but I'll admit to thinking Chandler was a mediocre TE after seeing him play in the preseason, and I'm hoping that he continues to prove me wrong week after week.
  20. Why are there about 20 threads on stuff that belongs in here? Anyway, awesome game. AWESOME game.
  21. See you there. Let's just say that two intelligent people disagree on whether it's a good move.
  22. Fez, is this the same as the chatroom link at the top of the board? Looking forward to the third installment of our annual argument about punting on 4th and 6 from the 45...
  23. If you read the quote in the article vince linked to, you'll see why Greg Bell will not go up on the wall while Wilson owns the team (he basically said that he hopes Wilson owns the team for 100 years and never wins a SB). Not that he belongs up there anyway. He doesn't. Above-average players who were with the team for three and a half years don't go up on the wall.
  24. That's the first time I've seen the 49ers in the conversation. I don't think the Bills are moving anywhere.
  25. Off the top of my head, I can think of five NHL teams that are closer to Albany than Buffalo is. Maybe Boston makes it six.
