It does make sense that people are less willing to go out in the cold for 4+ hours when the game is less meaningful or even meaningless (when the team is hopeless or when the team has clinched). I can't say why people wouldn't buy tickets when the games actually mean something, and they very well may this year. I'll bet that 2 of those 3 games sell out quickly if the Bills get to 7-3; I don't have a lot of hope for the Christmas Eve game. Personally, I've been to the stadium in the cold a couple of times. It's miserable. Maybe that makes some think I'm not a "real fan" or whatever. I'd rather spend my sports dollars downtown because I like hockey much better than I like football, but even the Winter Classic was too much time in the cold. For those jumping on PTR's case, remember that the guy lives in New Hampshire and still has season tickets. I think he's pretty much beyond reproach on this one.

Those of you who received Bruce Smith fatheads (as opposed to David Ortiz)--is it the one where he is charging at an opponent or the one where it's his head in a circle?

Then why associate it with colleges at all?

The link in San Jose's post above gives a range (it does take forever to load)--and a lot of those deals were reached quite a while ago and don't necessarily reflect the going rate.

Two wins, one of which was over a I-AA school, and the other of which was over Ohio by a single point. Year after year of crappy football, with one bowl appearance mixed in. A stadium atmosphere that is as uninteresting as the football. Should UB just ditch the program in favor of a hockey program, maybe?

I had no idea who the OC was until reading this. Actually, I thought Gaily was both HC and OC. I don't think I've ever heard or seen Modkins's name before. I'm not sure if that means I'm a pathetic fan or Modkins is an anonymous OC. Or a little of both.

The Raiders, Steelers, and Packers all have a significant national following, maybe in that order. And the Steelheads may be a little more visible right now just due to recent success. But I don't think any of those teams have quite the national fanbase that "America's Team" (wow, do I hate that) has. (I travel a lot too, and I've lived all over the country.)

The Cowboys are the most popular team in the country and always will have a lot of primetime games. It's about as useful as complaining that the Yankees are on Fox too often. The fins, well, I can't explain that.

Maybe some are arguing that he wasn't developed properly or given the right opportunity (notice I didn't say AN opportunity) here. But I think the poster above who said that being cut might have lit a fire under Maybin's butt probably has it right. On the other hand, it's tough to find a lot of good to say about Edwards right now, and that includes Maybin.
