There's a few things off Radio KAOS that I like, but definitely agree that the majority of his post-The Wall songwriting doesn't come close to what they did in the '70's. Even on The Wall though, the best music was Dave's - Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, and Young Lust.

Agree completely with the bolded. The key is, for those positions the person actually has a marketable skill which is the reason the jobs actually pay well.

There's nothing 'dishonorable' about any of those professions. But there also isn't much skill involved in ringing up the groceries and unfortunately for the checkout clerk not much value in the position for the store owner either.

Really? Probably a dumb question, but why should someone strive towards 40 years of Walmart or Jewel/Osco? Shouldn't they aspire and work towards doing something more than just ringing up groceries by the time they're 60?

Roger has always been the least appealing member of the group, but he also was the driving force of much of what they did. I've always had a reluctant appreciation for what he does. (Saw his 1st Wall stop in Buffalo 2 years ago, even my wife who HATES that album was impressed with the show.) Were the other songs he did also Dave's music? (CN is the only 1 I know he performed that was Dave's music.) If so, that really stinks that he didn't have Dave and Nick playing. Saw Dave solo at Shea's in '84. That was an incredible show. Have seen Roger in 3 bigger venues, but except for The Wall, Dave (and the 2 other Floyd members in '87 - they opened w/ Echoes) blew him away. The latest ('10 & '12) Wall tours are incredible. (Only saw him in '10 and because he didn't play anything beyond that album on that tour decided not to see the '12 version of it.) But it was a GREAT show.

??? Haven't seen his set yet, have it DVR'd, was hoping to watch it this weekend. Other than having Gilmour's part on Comfortably Numb sung by Eddie Vedder (which deserves an FU of it's own), what did he do?

1 - That was a big part of the reason I didn't want to see the President re-elected and why Akin should have stepped down immediately after sticking both feet in his mouth. Keeping the SC conservative is important. 2 - They have to put forth real immigration reform solutions or become irrelevant long term. If they can get Latinos to come into their tent then maybe they can get blacks as well. The D's hold on the black vote is so strong currently, it's futile to try in the short term to change it. Though it's imperative in the LT. 3 - The R's would be wise to emmulate it (to the extent they can). I know the D's had more money than the R's again, but I saw a lot of Obama ads on national cable networks and almost no Romney ads there. Not sure why they didn't run any. That would seem to be a mistake. They also need to crank up their get out the vote efforts, which Obama seemed to be very good at. 4 - To me that is the biggest problem the R's have. They tend to annoint party insiders / the next in line. The outsiders need to be bolder and flat out take the next nomination away; if they don't the next losing presidential candidate will likely be Gingrich or Santorum. Either of which WILL get me voting 3rd party. 5 - And Ed Schultz was cackling about the end of W's reign at 2:30PM on election day in '04 on the radio. Ooops. That was the day he seemed (to me at least) to go from reasonable lefty (I actually listened to his radio show some back then) to bull goon loon. To a large extent I expect the FNC misses to be a combination of wishful thinking and trying to fire up the base. 7 - My expectation is that he goes further to the left, now that he doesn't have any more elections to possibly lose. Hope I'm wrong.

It was '04 that the 'rule' didn't work. And, no offense, but of course it means nothing. There is no causation between the 2 events, though the correlation is pretty friggin' amazing.

I really hope you're right, but I just can't help but have the feeling that the electorate is Ralph Wilson, President Obama is Dick Jauron, and we're on the verge of the 3rd season's bye week.

Hope I'm wrong, but I expect Obama to win the EC, eeking out enough swing states to end up w/ 290+. Still hoping road crews can clean up SW VA soon enough to not lower voting in that part of the state. The storm hit at about the perfect time for the President. A week earlier or later (or better yet, not hitting at all) and Romney would have been looking at 290+. I expect Romney to win the popular vote, especially as total voting in NY, NJ, and CT will likely be down a bit due to the storm. No.

Nothing more than I'm more fiscally conservative than most. Which I already knew. Not sure. The snarky answer is: It says a lot of people like free stuff but don't quite understand that free stuff isn't necessarily free.
