  1. Vodka is in the freezer waiting for the big day. Long live the kitty willow!
  2. One of the greatest. RIP Rick Martin. You will live on in our hearts.
  3. My! There's a big front headed towards the southeast!
  4. 68 degrees in Raleigh yesterday. Keep the snow.
  5. Three days of 24/7 hockey! Had a great time & ran into tons of Sabres fans. Able to meet Matthew Barnaby...he does a nice job on TV. Did some serious tailgating and drank too much. Have to believe all who attended enjoyed themselves at the FanFest, Skills Competition & game. Would definitely recommend attending if you love hockey and ever get a chance.
  6. Anyone coming down to Raleigh for the festivities the weekend? Lots going on!!! Hear there will be a Pat LaFontaine sighting and hoping some other former Sabres will be in attendance. Always wanted to meet Eddie Shack!
  7. Surgery went well and John came home Sunday. We drove to Atlanta over the weekend hoping to see him, but all was too hectic. Surgery was successful, but details from the family have been sketchy. My guess is it will be some time before they can tell if there were any positive results. Thanks for your prayers and will keep you posted when we hear some good news.
  8. Tomorrow, my old neighbor & best friend in Atlanta is battling ALS & will become the seventh person in the U.S. to undergo a stem cell transplant for treatment. A great guy and full of hope. Please keep him in your prayers. Go get 'em John! http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/health-watch-stem-cell-trial-101810
  9. Last time there was for Pink Floyd. Many moon ago! Probably looks the same.
  10. My problem is I don't have anything good to say about my team.
  11. Russians beat 'Canes 5-3 in nasty preseason game The Canes lost 5-3 to SKA St. Petersburg today in St. Petersburg, Russia, and the less said about the game, the better. Suffice it to say Canes coach Paul Maurice kept Eric Staal out of the NHL Premiere Challenge game in the third period for what appeared to be safety reasons. So much for building a bridge between the NHL & Russian Hockey Federation. At least Tim Gleason beat the crap out of some Russian player & got booted. I didn't realize Maxim Afinogenov was playing for SKA St. Petersburg.
  12. and far below Lake Ontario...the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. We can call them the Lightfoots.
  13. For me this is the absolute lowest. We probably have had worse teams, but it was still fun to go to games and be with friends. At this point I don't care to watch them anymore.
  14. I thought I was going to visit the canal.
  15. I'm with you Beerball. Just wanted a glimmer of optimism this season. So inept in week one just decided to catch a game or two during the rest of the season when we play another crappy team. Nice having my Sunday's back and enjoy the dialogue on TBD on Sunday evenings.
  16. Big article on Pinto Ken in the Raleigh paper today. Glad to see he will be back! By the way, what is the Polish cherry firewater we have been drinking all these years?
  17. Great shots! Able to put faces with names!!! Wish I could have been at the tailgate, sure brings back memories. Hear that Lp 71 hit that golf ball pretty well!
  18. Whoo! That hit was a dandy. Love his intensity...reminds me of Mike Singletary.
  19. The Good Good to see Buffalo Elvis & Bald Dude with helmet painted head Weather looked good Niagara Falls on one of the segments coming back from a commercial Good cold beer today No fumbles (should have been two interceptions) Few penalties The fact I'm on TBD with the faithful The Bad Losing to bad Miami team knowing we have little chance of winning next three games With that line, will CJ survive the season? Use of timeouts The Ugly Offense...QB & offensive line were pathetic Tackling Offensive play calling Jimmy Johnson on Survivor...hope he gets bit by a Copperhead
