Jeremy Irons is so good as Ozymandias.

That one threw me a bit.  I never read Veidt the way Irons played him.  Now that I think about it, I'm not really sure what I would have expected, but that was definitely different.

And I'll leave it spoiler-free just in case, but the show was also missing a very key character.

And "diet" is definitely not healthier. You are better off with the sugar than the chemicals (although that is like saying you are better off with AIDS instead of cancer).

It's cancer in a cup vs. diabetes in a cup.  That said, I drink the cancer in a cup.

  3. I just got an invitation in the mail yesterday to my 21 year reunion (they couldn't do one last year).  I would have considered it, but they only gave about 25 days notice, maybe it took a while to get here (NC).  I haven't been in Buffalo since 2014 so I really do need to head back up there at some point.

I’m thinking the movies are going to be more like some of the “multi part” episodes like imaginationland. Maybe some spinoff type stuff.

It's definitely the multi-part episodes.  They've essentially been producing one movie a year over the last 5 or so years.  They might as well just make it one full 2 hour block and eliminate the commercials.

sorry but if this happens it’s hard not to feel like this is a fail by a Kevyn Adams. I feel like An experienced GM makes the contract extension part of the trade.

Add Bills Zito to the list of GMs not to make any more trades with. Doug Armstrong is already on there. Lets stick to trading with Chuck Fletcher. 🤣

Reinhart currently has no contract. So there has to be a signing with Florida, more than likely just for one year.

  6. I also don't get why this one was the start of their next phase.  The post-credit scene is the only thing that advances the storyline in any way.  There really was no reason to put this movie out after Infinity War/Endgame.

  7. I used to caddy at Crag Burn back in high school.  It was first come, first serve, whichever caddy showed up first was assigned to the first player who asked for one.  One day, this other kid and I showed up at the same time.  I let him sign up first.  It wasn't a very busy day.  After waiting a bit the other kid finally got someone... Steve Tasker and BIll Polian.  I didn't get anyone that day.

Went to the theater for the first time since Covid last night to watch this movie. Saw it in the Regal cinemas X Screen format. It’s 270° where they project part of the movie on the side walls. Took a moment to get used to, but then was pretty inventive and cool.

As for the movie, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I really liked the actor from Stranger Things who played the Red Guardian.

Relating to the end-of-credits scene, I wonder if they will find a way to resurrect the Black Widow character using the multi-verse?

They don't need the multi-verse for that.  They're going with alternate versions of the characters from within their own universe.

Yea I thought it was good, lots of action and not too much forced comedy that has killed movies like this in the past.

They tried it a bit with Yelena, but it was far more subtle than the other recent MCU movies.

Oh, and I saw some comments recently from Scarlet talking about how she regrets some of the unnecessary sexualization of the character when she was first introduced.  Now after seeing the movie I can't help but roll my eyes at that.  There had to be 5 or 6 blatant shots of her ass in the movie.  They'd start filming at the ground, pan up her legs, then switch to a different camera once they passed the waist.  Now I'm not complaining, but the comments definitely seem a bit hypocritical.

  9. I understand the recent expansion team reasoning, but Vegas finished tied for the Presidents’ Trophy this year. They should be included in the draft too.

So they’re one of the top teams in the league and they also get to keep their full roster.

Worst for me was a Mayonnaise based sandwich at the Hyderabad airport in India. Felt it on the flight to Bengaluru. Threw up for two days after.

Mayo based the same way that a hamburger is a beef based sandwich?  Or was it just some sandwich smothered in mayo?  I'm not even sure why someone would buy the first option... but then again, to me mayo is vile.

Marv Levy was a far worse GM than GMTM. While I think GMTM gave too much in some of his trades but at least guys he got produced like Adams thus far.

    Zach Bogosian

    Josh Gorges

    Andrej Meszaros

    Andre Benoit

    Tyson Strachan

    Cody Franson

    Carlo Colaiacovo

    Justin Falk

    Taylor Fedun

    Dmitri Kulikov

That's the reason why Tim Murray failed.  These are the defensemen he added who got significant playing time over those three years.  Bogosian and Kulikov unfortunately didn't work out and the rest are a bunch of has beens and never weres.  Murray only cared about the forwards and then tried to patch up his blue line in the clearance aisle.

Buzzkill?  I love this whole Bonilla thing.  It's the ultimate head scratcher.  I feel like they add more to the story each year to make that mets front office look even more stupid.

The amount of time left on his deal dwarfing all those other contracts just goes to show how special this one is.

Worth pointing out that the Mets are far from alone as far as teams who've gone the deferred payment route:

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31732959/bobby-bonilla-day-explained-why-mets-pay-119m-today-every-july-1

    • Max Scherzer: Will receive $105 million total from the Nationals that will be paid out through 2028.

    • Manny Ramírez: Will collect $24.2 million total from the Red Sox through 2026.

    • Ken Griffey Jr.: Will receive $3.59 million from the Reds every year through 2024 as the deferral from his nine-year, $116 million deal signed in 2000.

    • Todd Helton: Will get $1.3 million from the Rockies every year through 2023 as the result of $13 million deferred when he signed a two-year extension in 2010.

That list of four has a combined 17 years remaining.  That stacks up pretty nicely against Bonilla's 14.
