After picking Ostlund at 16, the Sabres immediately tried to trade up to 17 for Kulich and attempted 6 trade ups in total before he eventually fell to them at 28.

I never know if comments like this are supposed to make the team look good or bad.

Good: They got a guy at 28 they thought was top 18.

Bad: They tried to take a guy at 18 who went 28th instead.

I think he’s going so hard on this guy because of misplaced anger....he sees this guy with cancer as Walter White....the person who ruined his life as Saul sees it.......although as the great scene with Mike in Saul’s office shows us, it’s truly Saul’s fault he is in the position he is in.

I blame those skateboarder swindlers from the first episode that led him directly to Tuco.😃

My biggest problem from the start was Kim and Saul going about their day with no visible signs of trauma or being shaken by what happened the night before.  Then all of a sudden in the motel it all floods back. I know they're kinda psychotic with their emotions, but I found it very hard to swallow.

The Gus wine thing has to be a bigger deal.

Didn't get Mike suddenly needing to go visit Nacho's father.  Just seemed so damn random and unnecessary

Mike had been trying to help Nacho get out every step of the way.  He feels incredibly guilty over that and it's something they've been showing over and over.

Why did somebody resurrect this thread after 3 years?   The OP himself hasn't posted on TBD in 2 years.

Is it still the same OP that you remember from 3 years ago?  That would be the ultimate mandela effect, bringing an otherwise idiotic thread full circle.

That was a heck of an episode.  I like how Mike actually tried to treat howard with a bit of 'respect' as he was being thrown in the pit

Mike has always followed a code, as crazy as that sounds for a former corrupt cop now tied in with a cartel.

I loved the way they shot the whole first sequence leading up to Kim knocking at Gus's door.  That whole thing looked like a horror movie.

I loved Mike Grier. Super happy for him!

I've never heard anything but glowing stories about Mike Grier from anyone around BU circles.  I hope he takes that team to 10 consecutive Stanley Cup losses.😁

Ok, maybe they can win one.

The NHL doesn’t allow restructured contracts during their term. Contracts may be extended, but only in the last year of the deal.

And that extension doesn't go into effect until after that last year of the contract expires.  So it does not change the cap hit until the new contract starts.  I really wish they'd drop the word extension from the lingo since it's actually a brand new contract.

Just getting started on the new season of Stranger Things...Only watched the first two episodes but so far very good!!

I enjoyed each episode.  My only issue is how divided everyone is.  There are too many groups spread out all over the place.  Everyone loves Hopper, but his portion of the story really doesn't add anything at this point.  Hopefully it ties back in at some point.

Huge fan of Star Wars here,  but I wonder if Disney paused for a second when considering recent events and the tone of the early Obi Wan scenes where Jedi teachers and students are getting shot at... 🙁

It's going to wind up being very vital to the story.  The inquisitors have to come from somewhere.

Yep!  I went from leaning back on my couch to the front of the seat.

I felt so bad for Howard, they tortured him for the last few years, ruined his professional reputation and then they get him killed.

And in the eyes of the public, Howard probably just disappears.  That body is going to be cleaned and no one will ever find it.

Isn't everyone forgetting we still have Jimmy to wrap up in the present day and the show has been a flashback?

I'm surprised they didn't show any of that to start off the season.  I'm pretty sure every season started with the "modern day".  They did start with the raid of Saul's house this season, but that scene was in color, wasn't it?  The flash fowards to Gene were always black and white.

Here's the official Texas DPS statement on it:

Do they have official definitions for these situations?  The two don't seem to be mutually exclusive.  This is why I hate twitter.  Character limits aren't so great when you're trying to share information.

Uvalde is a town of 16000 people how many cops do they even have on their force?  Buffalo is a decent size city with a sizeable police force that can respond very quickly. Uvalde I imagine had to call in all off duty and surrounding areas for help.  That needs to be considered

And it doesn't matter all that much if 40% of the budget went to them if that 40% only amounts to $20.  Yes people want answers, but you can't, or at least shouldn't be passing judgement when you have so few of them.  There is guilt to go around.  We don't know where all of that lies yet, but we do at least know one person where it does fall.

I finished it this week.  Interesting character but I'm still not sure what reality he is in with all the jumping around between personalities.

Don't worry.  Gorr the god butcher?  Christian Bale will be killing all of them soon enough anyway.

After Columbine the policy on how police respond to mass shootings changed nationwide. More people died at Columbine than should have because of the slow emergency response. The standard now is that they're supposed to engage the situation right away. And most Americans have the expectation that police officers have a duty to put their lives on the line in times of need - this is supposedly why we give them so much power over us and excuse them when they accidentally shoot the wrong person. I for one have no illusions about the obligations of police officers to American citizens, but many people are now having that illusion shattered. And this begs the question why does this town spend 40% of their budget on the police department if it can't be trusted to handle a real emergency?

Is that the policy when someone is pinned down in one spot like it sounds with the classroom?  It sounds like something more in line with when the shooter is on the move.

Was the classroom where the killer was on the first floor with window access ?  Sorry did not watch that clip.

That's not specifically mentioned there, but there was mention of bringing in snipers.

Edit: And the clip in the link is just a segment of the full interview, so maybe it was mentioned at another point.

What is the point of having a massive police budget if this is the response?

Watch the full clip at that link.  The officer says that the responding police and more people inside could get shot if they go in.  I have absolutely no issue with what he said.  Sadly the guy is going to get crucified by an army of people who only read the headline.  Now maybe they were a bit slow, I don't know the exact time lines, but they can't just go in guns blazing.

  18. It’s truly amazing that they have pieces together this amazing show based solely off of a throwaway line in one episode. If somehow they had more planned, kudos to them because Saul Goodman was the comic relief of Breaking Bad. Just look at the casting. Saul and his entire entourage were nothing but stand up comedians.

I still expect Kim to somehow walk away from this alive. Saul also thinks Lalo is alive in the Breaking Bad timeline, so he may very well still be. This thing can go anywhere.

I don't know if I missed it or not but Kim's new proposed position doesn't require relocation?  I'm wondering if that's how they write her off the show or something.

They've been dropping little hints at Omaha for her throughout the series.  This time it was the Nebraska license plate in her flashback.  I think she's alive and they're somehow going to bump into Gene at the end of the series.

On a side note, nothing was more infuriating than hearing the phrase "miseason finale" pop up in the preview for next week.  The show takes 18 years each year to film their next season and AMC is going to play that game with us?
