Has a player ever played more than 16 games in a season? It would be possible if traded during a bye week. Hell, technically that could actually happen more than once during the season.
-
Each night they either score once (3 games so far) or five times (also 3 games so far). Man, if they ever figure out how to score more consistently. Mittelstadt should help with that a bit eventually.
I'd imagine Stamkos will be getting a fine at some point today. That should be an easy decision for the league, they can look like they actually care without having to suspend a big name player.

They played three teams that aren't winning. Its hard to say who is good and who sucks the first 20 games. 3 years ago the Sabres were leading the NHL in points and St Louis was in last place around the 25 game mark. We were all having a nice laugh at that loser ROR for jumping ship just before the big leap...
Its a long season.
It is, but I'm pretty confident with that label for at least Montreal and Arizona. Anyone who enters the season planning on using Carter Hutton as your #1 automatically jumps to the top of that list.

It's worth noting that their three opponents are now a combined 1-8-2. They beat three bad teams. That's not to say that this is a bad thing, you're supposed to beat those teams. I want to see what they can do against better competition and on the road. We get both of those opportunities this weekend, one better team and one road game.
And then there's monday...

See above tweet. There's no patting themselves on the back for getting to 2-0.
I'm talking specifically about the fans though. They're going to struggle at times and I'm not looking forward to a lot of "the sky is falling" style comments when that does happen.

I worry that some people out there actually think the team is actually going to keep this going. Enjoy it now folks while you can, this is still going to be a very bumpy season. Hopefully we are finally seeing the building blocks.- 1

“I love Phil Kessel. He’s everything that the modern day athlete isn’t.”
My god Rob Ray, that’s hilariously brutal.

Just looked. It’s also on MSG (at least in the local market).
BTW, did you see this?
there are 8 Sabres games that will appear exclusively on ESPN+/Hulu. So even if you get MSG or NHL network, or you pay for ESPN with your cable subscription, you won’t get those games.
That’s some BS.
I have it on msg on Directv through the center ice free preview right now2 hours ago, BillsFan4 said:If he was making say, $3M instead of $6M I think he’d be a fan favorite.
I hope he can stay healthy this season as well.
As a cap floor team right now, we’re at a point where fans shouldn’t worry one bit about an excessive contract. That deal actually helps the team at this point. -

Good lord, I know exactly one of those songs. I am old. 🙁
If Craig Anderson ever throws one into the empty net, at least you stand a chance of knowing that old guy’s song.
That said, by my math I see 3 songs over 30 years old. So there’s at least somewhat of a chance for you there. And by the way, I’m just as clueless on the list as you are.
My personal favorite on the list is Rasmussen Dahlin.

Maybe Don Granato really is the right guy to get this turned around.
I sure hope he is.
I really wish his play on the ice came anywhere near the heart and character he has always shown. Hopefully he can stay out there for most of the season.- 1

For what it's worth, they were loud and proud on the tv broadcast. This was mentioned multiple times during postgame player and coach interviews. I think they should all get a patch for attending this game
You could see it on their faces during the stick salute. Those thing always seem so phony and forced to me, but that one last night was 100% genuine. -
My mom still has a Sabrejak stored away in a closet. I'll have to check that out at some point to see what condition it is in.
-
Yes, attendance is going to be low this year, but why do people go to preseason games? Even if I was forced to buy the tickets as a season ticket holder, I'd still skip those games just so I wouldn't have to pay for parking and any concessions.

I currently have a lifesize cardboard Homer Simpson sitting to my left. I'll let you guess who is fighting it out with Costanza for the top of my list. I'm still not sure though if those long running cartoons count as sitcoms or not.
My list as a whole would be pretty similar to the rest. He would be nowhere near a top 5-10 list, but I did always get a kick out of Randy from My Name is Earl.

I'd imagine that they're doing it to allow the teams to practice the shoot out in a real game, competitive scenario.

They’re officially above the cap floor now.
Not sure how I feel about this deal yet. Seems like more than Dahlin is currently worth, especially since this only buys RFA years.
Plus it walks him right to the cusp of UFA. He will be 1 year away (just like Reinhart) when this deal ends and it would be pretty easy for him to force his way out if he chooses to (just like Reinhart).
I don’t know how comfortable I would have been giving him even more on an 8yr deal though.
From the Dahlin point of view, I'd say this deal is just about perfect. He was never going to take a long term deal based off of his early struggles. He's going to go out there and prove himself so that the long term deal has much larger numbers attached to it.

I honestly had no idea that he was so relentless. Boss says back off, you decide if you want to stay employed. I’m not surprised he got canned, nor am I disappointed in him. We all make choices in life, then we live with them.
He was one of those “under the radar guys” that I really enjoyed but never really got enough of.
I understand that the cast members have some creative control, but couldn't they have just stopped him from doing the jokes? Norm's on the air and can say what he wants if he really wants to, but the graphics guy is certainly going to bow to Lorne. Tell that guy he can't put up any more images of OJ and you've effectively killed the bit.

As I recall, he was fired from SNL because he was making jokes about OJ. At that time, OJ was tight with one/some of the NBC big shots and he went crying to them.
Wasn't it also a couple weeks after he dropped an f-bomb during weekend update?

We watched the first two episodes of the new Steve Martin / Martin Short / Selena Gomez show, "Only Murders in the Building" last night and really enjoyed it.
It's very well-made, with great writing and acting. We'll see how the rest of the season goes, but so far it's been really good.
I can't say I ever thought I'd see that phrase.

Now get Dahlin done. He's the last of the RFAs.

Nothing tops that moment where the horseradish hits you in that exact spot towards the back of the roof of your mouth and instantly clears your sinuses.
Does the Boston Hotel still exist? They always had a good beef on weck back in the day.

almost word for word what Montreal said when they signed Aho to that offer sheet.
Montreal offer-sheeted Sebastian Aho a couple years ago and Bergevin said this:
Carolina straight up trolling Montreal 🤣
I wonder what Aho thinks of it. Carolina wasn't willing to negotiate with him but they will now both here and with Svechnikov.

I've seen random interviews with this guy over the years. I don't remember what they said, but I never got an "I'm going to sue those bastards" vibe.
4 minutes ago, May Day 10 said:Seeing how the guy has celebrated it on multiple anniversaries, has "Nevermind" tattooed across his chest, and has done many appearances and interviews, I will call BS money grab.
Ok, that's what I thought I remembered from the interviews, but I wasn't completely sure. Cash grab for sure.
Edit: There's no tattoo but he has recreated the picture multiple times.

I think they may want these two kids attached at the hip for the full year. I'm ok if that's the plan, only call them up together.
