  1. I love how they're playing Born in the USA after each big save from Miller. This is one situation where it's ok not to use the superman theme.
  2. I missed the Edmonton game, so I can't comment on that. As for Kasparitis, he stuck out his back leg when he was going for the hit. He didn't make any contact with it, but I think this paints a good picture of his intentions.
  3. The fact that they are still complaining about the hit makes me wonder if they saw something that we didn't. The one thing I did notice while watching the replays last night was that he stuck out his back leg so he could trip up Connolly if he missed with the hip. Was the hit lower because of the way he stuck out his leg? I don't know.
  4. Funny because that description doesn't fit me at all. Anyway, this was a BC fan, but she does know hockey.
  5. They actually let them wear that on the tennis court? Maybe I should watch more tennis.
  6. Absolutely not. The only reason I was even around this one was because she's a friend of a friend.
  7. I wouldn't say she's young, probably at least 10 years older than me, but yes, I feel sorry for anyone that does marry her.
  8. Las weekend, someone gave me crap for wearing a BU hockey jersey to a BU game. She said something like 'only the students should wear jerseys'. My question is, do you think there is a point where you are officially too old to wear a jersey? Obviously, I have no problem with people wearing jerseys to games, other than basketball jerseys, which look ridiculously stupid. Football and hockey jerseys are fine, as long as you're not wearing them in public all the time.
  9. I've never actually paid too much attention to that, but I would've thought it was the other way around. Graphite has more flex (so if you have a fast swing speed, that's not so good for irons), so I would've assumed that the torsion would be the same.
  10. STAY AWAY FROM BLADES! With the scoring range he mentioned, blades would probably be a terrible option. The only people who should be using blades are pros, and a lot of them won't go near them. They're very effective clubs IF you have the great swing to go along with them. If you're really serious, the best option would be to try out a lot of clubs as others have suggested. When you make up your mind, get them fitted. A lot of places will do this for free if you're buying the clubs from them.
  11. You mean the 10 dunks that all look the same?
  12. I read an article on cnn.com the other day that said they actually shot a short scene about that for this season. It may not air though.
  13. Ottawa has shown that they can't play without Spezza and Alfredsson. First place is not out of question if their injuries continue to linger.
  14. It's even worse when you're watching a team with a terrible powerplay. I'm a Boston University season ticket holder and our power play never shoots. Even worse, they just stand still while passing back and forth. The building only seats about 6k, but the screaming is probably louder than any other building I've ever been in.
  15. That happens everywhere.
  16. Five years? That commercial's been around as long as I can remember.
  17. The top announce team in baseball is Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, so that point is debatable.
  18. It's hard to imagine that any sport could be worse on tv than baseball.
  19. I'll ignore the obvious typo there and ask: why would Pittsburgh trade for a goalie?
  20. It's only one game, but it's definitely encouraging.
  21. I like the deal too, but I'd love it if we still had Ballard. He should be mentioned when talking about that trade. Calgary wanted Reinprecht badly, and the only way to get him from Colorado was by sending them Ballard.
  22. You missed one important detail of that trade. The Sabres also moved Keith Ballard. Ballard has all the makings of a stud defenseman and it would be nice to have him on the blue line right now. I'd probably rather have Drury at this point, but I do wish they could've thrown in a different prospect instead.
  23. If Marty fell back completely into the net, would you still waive off the goal? The ruling on the goal was very simple. The puck was inside his glove which was completely inside the net.
  24. Every single reviewed goal in the NHL is done in Toronto. They want things to be called the same way in every game. Just don't ask what happens if two goals have to be reviewed at the same time.
