He doesn't have a contract. He's only on an AHL deal. Honestly, I'm not so sure he'd want to sign one right now. They lose his draft rights in June and he may like the thought of being able to sign anywhere, even though it will just be an ELC. The rule for LTIR is that they have to be expected to be out for a minimum of 10 games or 24 days. Can you reach that expectation from a concussion, particularly the repeated type with a guy like him? I don't know. They're going to have to do something once Bogosian is cleared though. They'll be over the cap at that point thanks to all the callups the currently have. The easy solution is probably LTIR for Sobotka. I forget what his status is, but it did sound like it was one of those month+ deals. LTIR is retroactive to the date of the injury, so the time he's already missed would be included in that 10/24 minimum. Retirement would be a different story. His cap hit is gone in that scenario. There would be some cap recapture penalty though.

That really doesn't allow for much of a time window. You never can tell with this show, but from Lydia's capture up until the fair/beheading, that was what, at most a couple months? That's an awfully short amount of time to be won over by that lifestyle, especially when compared to Alexandria. Like I said earlier though, it did look like he was being won over a bit during his time with Sadiq. Maybe he's just playing both sides so that he has a home no matter who wins.

A question for those familiar with the comics. Don't worry if you're not, I'll keep it spoiler-free. There are so many stories in motion right now. They can't possible follow that storyline right now, can they? And last night's reveal was a bit odd. Lydia knew the captured whisperer but has never had any clue who Dante is? I'm sure they'll follow up on that a bit. He must be pretty close with Alpha if he's cool spending time around not dead Lydia. His comment during the fight, something along the lines of not wanting it to be like this, made it seem like he was coming around to their way of life a bit. But if that's the case, why's he sabotaging the water system (and what's he drinking)? Is it so simple as thinking that they can convert most of these people to the pack life?

I hesitate to call it a regression since we saw the same exact thing last year. It may even be a slightly worse version of what happened last year. We won't know that for sure until this current stretch of suck ends (IF). So when you say a regression, you're talking in season, but this one could in fact be a season-to-season regression. How's that one for a scary thought?

I'm also not a betting man, but if I was, I would have only one rule: Never bet on Buffalo (either team). Whether you're picking them to win or lose, they'll always disappoint.

I supposed it could be as simple as playing on home ice, but I'm not so sure I buy into that thought that we are more desperate. Carolina's season may as well be a mirror image of ours up to this point. They're trying to dig out of a very similar rut that we are.

If you ignore the controversial ranting part, it's amazing how similar his career path is to John Madden. You have a coach with early success who transitions to media icon. I wonder if the US would have bought in if EA had named the video game after him back in the mid 90s.

I don't think they're worried about the water. I bet the sickness winds up being something else. The way walkers wonder around and get trapped everywhere, that river has to already be full of them. Ahhh, it was that guy? That makes sense. That's one problem with the whisperers, other than 3 characters, they're a giant see of faceless/nameless red shirts.

And on another note, I know why it was setup that way and that the change is coming very soon, but this recent stretch of the scheduling has absolutely sucked. That paired with the crappy results is a great way to kill interest in a team.

I could watch an entire series made out of Negan/Beta interactions. That can be their sitcom spinoff from the series. It's pure gold. The one thing I don't get about Beta is that at one point he seems to be so concerned about "their people" but then in the next he's slitting the throat of a random red shirt in hopes of killing Negan too. You get the outcome you're hoping for, don't lose a single member of the pack, and Alpha's none the wiser. Your TV show is over though, so obviously they can't do that. I just wish they wrote up a better plan there.

He's a good friend of Bill Fichtner. I'd have to imagine that influenced him a bit.

I just don't think that either Pilut or Borgen are ready yet. And I don't want to count on Bogosian for anything and don't believe that we can. Any move probably would be made with the future in mind, it pretty much has to be at this point, but I'm so sick of being stuck in that step. I know it's hard to believe after watching that video, but MacLean is only 59. Working with Cherry for so long has apparently aged him quite a bit.

I'd be somewhat reluctant about your second deal because of the net loss of 2 bodies on the blue line. I'm not sure they're ready to absorb that kind of loss this year. That type of move signifies a move for the future, but I'd much rather have any Risto trade being for today. Sure, you get Ehlers today, but I don't think this season can absorb that subtraction on the blue line.

I wonder if people are actually surprised by this. The guy has been showing this breed of crazy on TV for close to 40 years. He didn't just suddenly become that way one day.

The numbers are positive during a short period of winning and they're negative during a short period of losing. There's a shocker. People need to stop viewing this stuff in isolation.

There are so many disturbing comments I can make right now, but I won't do it.

He lives in one town and broadcasts out of the other. I'm not so sure that mentioning them means that he's specifically targeting the populations of those two cities. What's going on there is what he sees regularly in his daily life. I'm only going off of what you quoted since I really have no interest in diving too deeply into this one. I really don't care too much about what is said on a program that I don't even have access to. So yeah, I trust you when you say he mentioned other areas, but I've only seen what you quoted above. Mentioning those two towns seems pretty logical to me.

Yeah, I figured he would be mentioned. But you're right, those initial fights are just him and Vader standing still. That's not going to mesh with the style they've been going with for a while now. Anything they would have done with Carrie probably would have been completely stunt double/CGI and I can't picture it looking any good.

And then of course there's the people that Maggie is off with. You don't bring in a fairly recognizable actress for the role of their leader only to use her in one single episode.
