Lenny P Confirms Jerry Gray is gone
Spiderweb replied to TheZone78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's there , in the right hand column, down under "heard in the press box" area... -
Especially since he may not be ready physically to play early next year. It all depends of the severity of the kneee injury, but it's likely he won't be ready at the start anyway.

Yet, a motivated Mike Williams and a rengotiated contract might be our best option if he can agree to a number that will make him far more cap friendly. Down the stretch last year he was looking pretty decent and seemed only a few steps away from being dominant in the run game especially. Yet, as we are all aware, he regressed tremendously. Injuries? Maybe. Conditioning? Supposedly he was in better shape for this years start of camp so who knows. Lack of fire seems to be the general perception and I can't say I've seen anything else that would otherwise contradict it. He's already been quoted as knowing the Bills will want to re-do his deal, so maybe.... The again, maybe I'm grasping at straws.

Willis made the "Worst List" of 2005
Spiderweb replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do recall a long run (first meeting against Miami) that was 50-60 yards, but was called back on a stupid meaningless hold by Evans that had little effect on the play. Willis surely is not without fault, and I believe there lies the truth between the Willis is great and the Willis is a bum camps. There WERE many factors that held Willis back, our offensive line surely is part of the blame, as is our anemic passing attack. Sorry, but even though Holcomb had a bit more success, neither he nor JP ever forced teams to respect our passing attack to any real degree. I also mst add that for a 5-6 game stretch, it did appear that Willis had made the run for the bus early. In the final against the Jets, he should have had more carries. It also would have been nice to see him get more attempts without having the beat 1-2 guys in the backfield as often as he had to as well. It would have been equally as nice to see him make a quick (and proper) decision on where he was going and then blow it up in there a bit more often too. I see this story as being a tale of two sides. -
Posluszny won't need knee surgery
Spiderweb replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK Mike, let's look at Sam Adams this past year. He was asked to play a two gap style, to which he either refused or played poorly leading to his disagreement with the coaches and was benched. Now it's said here that he will be fine as our nose tackle, in which tying up blockers would become his primary function? I'm sorry, but that assumption is based wishful thinking, not reality. In fact, Sam has been a single gap, penetrating type of tackle his whole career. This leopard would not be changing his spots anytime soon. -

We are absolutely LUCKY to have Marv -
Spiderweb replied to IndyMark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not that the wrong guy was let go, it was that both (TD & MM) needed to go. -
New structure has disaster written all over it
Spiderweb replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And what if Marv is actually on-hand to either help Mularkey get it together, or to replace MM if he stumbles badly again (even if on an interim basis)? What we've got is a stop gap scenario, one last hurrah from Ralph, Marv, etc. I also do not see this shakeup as a positive. TD had to go, but what's happened since? Love Marv, but he should not have been brought back. If Modrak wants to be a scout, fine, but bring in a real GM. -

Lets not forget the contributions of Dwight Adams, who also had a wonderful way of describing the talent he found or noted. -

The "Myth" of Krumrie is over?
Spiderweb replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Roll back the tape. Tim Anderson showed a lot of improvement by the season's end. With a bit more strength conditioning, he may finally be the "high motor" guy that actually works out for the Bills. Biggest regression/disappointment - Kelsay... (Dag, typing with one hand is a pain....just had rotator cuff surgery 1/4/06) -
Don't forget his neighbor, Bowman IIRC, who's background was a few years of coaching at UB, that he hired to coach the TE's. Wade's problem was the same we've seen quite a bit of the past few years, a number of coaches who were hired because they were friends, not qualified coaches. Anyone remember Vinklarek (sp?) as well? What is with the cronyism? Our coaches aren't alone in this regad either. Sounds like the recruiting method used by the Buffalo Parks Dept.

Quiet prayer for the miners in WV
Spiderweb replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I went and took a shower and a shave, came back and the whole story has flipped. What a devasting tragedy, one that will be commented upon for quite some time, but for now all I can say is what a tragedy, a devasting tragedy. -
Quiet prayer for the miners in WV
Spiderweb replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miracle? That's a highly overused word, yet in this case it doesn't come close to describing what has happend tonight. Yet, our prayers to the single miner, and his family that will not be reuniting this morning.......... ___________________________________________________________________ First the news was far more than what anyone thought was possible. Sadly, the word now is that only one has survived and is unconcious, on breathing apparatus, and in obviously citical condition. Tragedy......such a hollow word at times like these, but it's the best I can offer. May God give strength and peace to all those who have lost a loved one. -

1st Year - 697 2nd Year - 488 (injury shortened season) 3rd Year - 742 Yet the owner of these stats turned out to be one of games best, an HOF'er. It might still be a bit early to write McGahee off just yet. We haven't seen what he's capable of with a line that can actually move and block.
-
...and that "assumes" someone will be there willing to make a trade for our pick. We drafted 4th afew years back and it's been said that when we went on the clock, no one called. 9th is actually a bit safer and possibly more able to be dealt.
-
OK....back to the positive
Spiderweb replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on what? His mini camp? Sorry, but he's a complete unknown at this level and at this time. With our line, who ever it is, he'll need to be able to block. -
Yes, around 3-4 years ago. Jon, is getting a tad long in the tooth.
-
May be so, but there was a lot of similarity with the Bills of 04 and Mi Yami of 05. Strong finish, 9-7 record when they were counted out for dead early in the year. What was bad is that we blew a 21 point 4th quarter lead to them. That was $!@&%!
