I always qualify that game by reminding people the only time the Dolphins beat Josh was when they HARNESSED THE POWER OF THE SUN. It took that much for them to beat us. And even then, barely.
-
Yep. $14-17M for Knox to be backup TE $9M/yr on Palmer who has done nothing $8M for Samuel to be WR4 role player $7M for Hoecht to sit out suspended $7M for Ogunjobi to do the same... But we cant pay Cook, our most productive Offensive player outside of the league MVP, our only player besides Josh listed in the NFL Top 100 because... "he's a RB" Crazy.

Everyone eats, but the Cook FEASTS

Agreed. Look, as a Bills fan I'd love for every player to agree to play here for vet minimum. But that isnt happening, nor is it fair to the guys who actually make the league what it is. Who put their bodies and long term health on the line. Who have been training and working at this for decades. And who typically have less than 6-8 years to cash in. If the NFLPA had a spine, it would be more like a 65/35 revenue split in favor of the players.

No. I said "You guys are expecting him to leave generational wealth on the table". As in, the difference between taking $12M/yr and $15M/yr on a 4yr contract is $12M left on the table. That $12M alone is generational wealth if managed properly. It's one thing if the sides are less than a million apart. Easy to argue either side should meet the other one. But if/when I have one shot to get paid, I'm not going to be happy leaving $10M-$15M behind just to please the people of Buffalo, NY.

He had multiple goal line TDs last year, and some he even ran OVER defenders. That was the big add to his game. He came in a bit heavier and stronger and just as fast, and added the ability to run through tackles. It could be well argued we should have handed him the ball at the end of the Chiefs game instead of letting Josh get stuffed on something the Chiefs knew was coming.
-
Because it's still way cheaper than $43M/yr to Parsons. Almost half.
-
I think that is why including Ed Oliver makes a lot of sense in this fantasy scenario. It gives the Cowboys a player to swap in on the DL, and gives us $11M in cap space. Then we only need to find... about $30M more in cap space 😆 Although I assume any big, long term deal would give us lower cap hits in the first couple of years.
-
McLaurin isnt getting dealt. But Cook and Ed and a couple 1st round picks could be in play for Parsons. Who said trade? I'm talking open Free Agency market, which would be next offseason (unless he gets Franchise Tagged which I think is a good possibility)

Never said sane. There are a lot of crazy GMs out there. And they ALL seem to lose their mind when FA hits. I'd set the over/under at there being at least 4 teams that would pay him $15M/yr. Top of my head, the Patriots absolutely would right now. And again the "$15M/yr" just has to be the face value average that his agent gets to brag about. There are multiple ways, like with every contract announced, that the real cap numbers do not match the average. The Bills, in all their sanity, could lock him up through his prime, give him his bragging point, and still keep the cap hit around $12M or less. What's the problem?

Business is boomin!

Very inspirational... At least he isnt praising the 9/11 hijackers I guess?...

His agent would (should) laugh and hang up on you. Why would he take that when he could get $15M base and up to $17-20M in incentives elsewhere? You guys are expecting him to leave generational wealth on the table when this is likely his ONE shot to get paid, while the league and owners make plenty more for doing nothing. 4 years/$60M, $40M guaranteed. Throw a void year on the end and its instantly back down to $12M/yr ($8M/yr guaranteed) for the team. Make it an extension and now its essentially 5/$65M, with the void 6/$65... less than $11M average. Cap is booming with streaming revenue. It's easy to get done where Cook wants to be and have both sides happy.

He'd absolutely get it on the open market. The "bad influence" so far has been... show up to camp, participate fully, hasnt said a single thing in the media outside of one comment on someone elses post. Yall need to build a bridge and get over it. This is the business side of the game. Our situation is better than every other teams' negotiations.
-
How about we pay all 3 and not pay our backup TE $14-17M/yr?
-
THINGS ARE GREAT IN MIAMI. HILL IS TOTALLY A CHANGED MAN AND TEAM PLAYER. EVERYONE LOVES HAVING HIM AROUND...
-
What bad advice? Show up to camp and participate fully has been the advice so far. Something changed today, and we dont know what or why. So far for any advice he's received he's done exactly what Bills fans could hope for.
-
Their LBs at the time were even lighter than ours too. So we game planned running at Parsons and hitting him with an additional blocker, or running away from him and leaving him unblocked and using the blocker elsewhere. And it's Jerry Jones. He overpaid Dak due to waiting. Now he's going to have to overpay Parsons who can already command a huge number. I agree it will be $40+, if for no other reason than Jerry will botch it to that level.
-
Jalen Ramsey has done it a couple times now. Not sure how far the Seahawks and Metcalf got before he was traded.
-
Burrow isnt the problem on the Bengals and he wouldnt be the problem on the Bills. If he were in Buffalo, he'd still have a Defense that cant get him a stop. He'd additionally be missing 2 top WR targets. So yeah, things would be worse with and for Burrow, but the QB isnt the issue in either spot.

I'd put it on the Cowboys to make me an offer I couldnt refuse, and do it NOW. I dont know if anything has progressed, but as of just last week, it was accurately reported and confirmed that Dallas hadnt even made an OPENING OFFER. Like, they havent even started! So there is no $100M guaranteed to risk. There is nothing to risk right now. I'd have myagent let them know that they now have 1 chance to make me an offer, and if it's where I want it to be I'll sign it, otherwise we have nothing to talk about.
-
I thought this after Jerry's last public comments about Micah "getting hit by a bus" and what not. If I were Parsons I would move on. Play this season and then hit free agency. Could get way more on the open market and not get dicked around by old Salty McMuffin. I guess they could tag him or threaten to tag him, but I'd cross that bridge when we came to it.

Report: Terry McLaurin requests trade

There is zero chance Washington trades him. They'll announce a deal Monday. It would be awesome tho. -

Does $30M per get it done? I'd think more like $35M...
