Dunne interviews 6 NFL guys about Tyrod Taylor
blargo replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes but, 20 years ago coaches had 5 year plans to turn things around. Now you get 1-2 years, 3 years if you show some progress. So coaches 20 years ago would take time to develop key players knowing they would get that 5 year plan. Free Agency has change all that and the expectations. -
Would We Be Better Off If We'd Just Kept Fitzy

Classic Fitz. Play good enough to get you close in the late 3rd and early 4th and then just fold when you really need him. -
Is Mario playing tomorrow or sitting?

Sure they can, healthy scratch. That happens all the time when the team is healthy. -
Jeremy White: Bills vs. Titans All-22 Review

Did anyone else notice on Mariota's read option throw that they had a linemen down the field? I saw that in the game, 77 clearly went past LOS, and no call. -
Yeah, but only 36 yards a game.

Amazing tidbit about the Bills' 2015 Offense

What about Henderson at RT? I am pretty sure he started all 16 games last year. -
Greg Hardy suspended 10 games; update: Reduced to 4
blargo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hardy had Harold Henderson handle his appeal not Goodell. Has Goodell ever reduced a suspension that he handled? I ask because I do not knopw the answer to that questioon. -

Yes he was paid, but he still did not play. Time in the NFL is a precious commodity. Unlike the rest of us the NFL career is very short, so the time missed is important. I think that time off has to be a factor in the punishment. I would be OK with the NFL if they fine the player the appropriate games after they missed most or all of the season like AP and Hardy. To me 10 games on top of the 15 games last year (with pay) was just excessive. -
This is a real important point because we can use hindsight to get a clear picture. There have been zero Free Agent QB's that would have been the franchise QB. So in the last 3 years of all the QB's that the Bills could have drafted who would be that franchise QB?

At least the Giants will be undefeated going into that game

All-22 on Stephon Gilmore, "lockdown CB"
blargo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember how bad the secondary was at the beginning of 2013? Gilmore with a club was way better then Justin Rodgers. I also believe that McKelvin was also hurt early. So I do not blame this on Marrone, but just the thinness of our secondary early. -

I read something a while back after Seattle traded for Jimmy Graham that included 2015 first round pick. Seattle basically said that there are only 16 players graded as round 1 talent. Go back to the 2014 draft when we make the Watkins trade Whaley could have had an early indication that the 2015 draft would not have a good amount of round 1 talent and if we made the playoffs we would not give up that much. Now that we are closer and Seattle thinks only 16 first round talent and we would have drafted 19, this seems like a good risk reward trade. That is your point here, the GM has to look at that.

Will the Bills ever sign Charles Clay?
blargo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But Clay is already accounted for this year with the transition tag. If anything a long term contract will give them more cap space and if they do not match the get 7+M cap space back. -
[closed]Charles Clay to Bills? - the sequel/trilogy
blargo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the offers are going though Clay and his agent. This just might be twitter word limit that makes wording unclear. Clay's agent could say we just got this from Miami without signing Bills offer and Bills then counteroffer. Thsi could go on until he signs one. -
If they add a FA QB, look at them they are not great, they will have a QB comp in camp. If it is a tie EJ wins and has a short leash. Run first pass second with QB on move, seems like what SF and Seattle do. They still need to shore up the OL with at least 1 more possibly 2 more additions, depends on Henderson e v a l'ed. If they trade for a QB that is a different scenario.(Now that that got Cassel no it is the same as above, camp comp)
