  1. I guess most people haven't, since this has turned into a "this is what I hate thread." But I have a good friend who is very anti-bills and has been since long before I knew him. He moved around a lot as a kid as his dad kept changing jobs, but picked out the Bengals as his team for whatever reason. His family lived in Buffalo during the Super Bowl years, and he found the Buffalo fans to be very obnoxious. One annoyance he cited was the shout song, specifically how they used to play it on the radio, and they would dub over it with players quotes like "We wanted to bring this victory home to the fans" and whatever other cliches. (Anyone remember this?) His bills hatred continues recently since we've had the bengals' number the last 5 or 6 times we've played them, even back in 03 when we were terrible.
  2. He's not a sleeper, we already know he's good. Personally, I'm always for bringing in guys who can play, even if they have a history of trouble with the law. I think Buffalo is a better environment for guys who are trying to clean up their act. It won't happen though.
  3. Good for you man. I hope I live close enough to have seasons at some point in my life. I have a ton of respect for some of the posters on here that drive from like Boston, West Virginia, Baltimore etc. for all the games. That's commitment!
  4. I didn't pick that up at all. Sounded more like a shot at the talent we had on the team last year to me. Whitner's a team first guy, I don't think he would be calling out the coaches like that.
  5. Great to hear the support from the teammates, especially Whitner. That dude is the man. At the same time, the last few seasons we've heard the same line during the offseason...... if they double up on this guy, then this guy will be open, and they won't be able to put 8 in the box, so the run game will open up, they can't cover us all..... which all sounds great now, but I told myself I wouldn't get too excited about hearing that line again this offseason. I can't wait for the fall, and I hope it's true, but I'm waiting until I see it to get pumped about it.
  6. I would hope you'd write much much more. You didn't write anything of any value!
  7. Yes. I will also occasionally X out of a website, cause I'm bored with it, then proceed to open up the browser and go right back to that website. TBD is probably the most common website for this to happen with.
  8. No need to be embarassed. If that was what Bavaro had actually put, I would have thought it was interesting too, but I hate giants fans so much, that actually pissed me off. I'm from an area where the largest fan bases are the bills and giants, with the giants probably having a few more, and I have to hear that BS from them all the time. It's just like give it an effing rest with that crap.
  9. That's not his personal myspace page. It says right on the page that it's a fan page. For those that didn't follow the link, it says the person he'd most like to meet is Scott Norwood. That was just put there by some A-hole gints fan.
  10. I thought the same thing, considering the fact that casual bills fans wouldn't even know who he was.
  11. Nice sentiments. I hope that when I've been a fan for 35+ years I have as many great memories as you fans from the 60's and 70's, and I hope I can as eloquently express how much this team means to me also. Great post.
  12. Certain people predicted that Marshawn and/or Posluszny would be rookies of the year. Marshawn was a finalist, and Paul was leading the league in tackles at the end of week 2. I'm superstitious about some things, but I'm not worried about a jinx on this one. I think Hardy will have a good chance of catching some jump balls in the end zone, with his basketball background, and he looks like he has good hands from the videos I've seen of his play. I'm not counting on him to be a game breaker consistently, but I think we can count on more than a few big plays, and to take some pressure off of Lee, and I think Roscoe will benefit from a few more long balls also as a result.
  13. Sounds like a D-bag. Just kidding. I'd take the odds with the Bears too with those two chumps ahead of you.
  14. I didn't make a prediction, cause I don't know nearly enough about college prospects to warrant a guess, but I wanted to see how everyone else did. I tried searching but had no luck.
  15. Thank you. I'd root for Shockey if he became a Bill, but very begrudgingly. I'm definitely on record saying he's my least favorite player in the league. I just hate his rediculous celebrations after every routine play he makes. It's really obnoxious.
  16. I still don't even understand how it's possible to tear down the goal posts in the first place, but I really don't understand how it's possible to break them up into small pieces. Aren't they made from like steel or something else strong?
  17. I watch every play, and I read threads and articles on this site almost daily. Why have I never heard this knock on Tredwards before about fake audibles? I have to watch most games at the bars, so I don't hear the commentary, but I've never heard anyone say anything about this before. I also have admittedly limited football knowledge. Can someone enlighten me as to what this about?
  18. The players definitely did. I remember Coy Wire saying in an episode of "68 seconds with langston walker" that we should be up like that every game. To the thread starter: I agree with you about Tredwards. Since golf season is beginning I'll draw from the golf cliche "Drive for show, putt for dough". JP is all about the long bomb, and he does it well, but when it's not there, he doesn't have much else going for him. If a lane opens up for him he can run for a first down, but his scrambling skills were very lacking. He rarely would make a play after the pocket collapsed, and he would often do something dumb. Edwards manages the ball well, is very smart, very accurate, can make the short timing throws that you need to throw to your RB successfully, doesn't make the big down field throw as often, but has the ability to. Going into last year I was 100% behind JP, and I still believe that was our best option to go with at that time, but now it's time to go forward, and once again put our faith in a young QB, and hope it turns out better this time.
  19. Someone fill me in here. Is Gholston supposedly going to be drafted by one of our division rivals or something?
  20. Our pass rush should be improved with our FA signings. Don't forget, our offense AND defense ranked in the bottom five of the league, and we haven't really addressed the offense during FA. Unless we trade for chad johnson, I'm all for drafting at WR.
  21. Good take. I very sincerely hope this is the case. Going into next season I honestly would feel most comfortable with JP as the backup, IF he wanted to play for the team. But I don't want anyone playing for our team who doesn't want to, so I hope JP gets moved and we get someone capable of winning games. I don't know if Tredwards will make it through the whole season entirely healthy.
  22. side note Can anyone tell me what :+CLA+: means, if anything?
