  1. If this isn't the year, this is the group of players that will get it done. We need to get off to a fast start. We can't be running from behind, trying to run the table with 6 weeks to go to get into the playoffs again. Whitner is going to have a break out year this season. He's going to be passing out the big hits and taking some INT's to the house. Our run defense is going to be dominant again this season with Stroud drawing double teams and our line backers bringing down the pain. Schobel will be back in the double digit sack numbers, maybe a career high, with at least 4 forced fumbles. Special Teams are going to be dominant once again, with at least 4 return TD's, as well as the best kick coverage. Lee is going to get back on track this season. He'll have a career year. Marshawn is going to improve on last year's performance. He'll have more yards, TD's, receptions and receiving yards, and probably make the pro bowl. Hardy is going to be the man in the red zone. Robert Royal will also put up career numbers. Every problem we had from last year was addressed in the draft or FA, and we're getting back very good players from injury. This team is good, and they have a winning attitude. We have some really good players who have never made the playoffs and are tired of it. They're going to get it done. In the recent past I've been really pumped before football season, like giddy pumped, like last year, when JP was supposed to take his game to the next level and so on and so forth. Never happened. I don't really feel like that this season. It's like the calm before the storm, because I know in my heart we're going to be good this year.
  2. That's an excellent point. Problem is, the Bills need Peters more than he needs the Bills right now, and we probably need Peters more than we need Evans too. Any talk about the bills breaking the playoff drought this year stops without Peters on the team. I was all for giving Peters a new contract so that we don't once again let all our best players walk, but the FO has made it pretty clear that will not be happening, which concerns me. I stated at the beginning of August that I was not worried about Peters at all... gone are those days! He needs to get in here immediately if not sooner.
  3. Yes. Our run blocking wasn't that good last year, and doesn't look like it's improved much. Pass blocking still looks strong, but run blocking is a definite weakness. Maybe with all the right personnel in there the story will be different.
  4. Whoever that DLineman is for Tennessee is pictured at a perfect angle so that he looks exactly like a midget. If you look at it like that it looks hilarious cause it looks like Marshlong is plowing over a midget.
  5. I understand your point of view and I realize that you're just commenting on the situation, but I wouldn't have unless I had read your other comments on this thread and in the thread on the ESPN page. It's really just a question of how people will take it. The extremely loyal fans of Buffalo are really really scorned by that situation. I'm actually writing this from Charlotte, NC, visiting my brother, and I was talking to him today about how the fan support around here for the Panthers seems a little lacking, and I commented that the Panthers should move to Toronto (not thinking that would or should ever happen, just making conversation). Charlotte has a lot of subplants, including a lot from WNY (my brother), so the town identity isn't that strong, and college sports are king here...BUT... Here's the thing.... There's a lot of rich people here! There's huge businesses buying corporate suites in bunches, the economy and population are booming, and it doesn't matter if the people that are going to the game are die hards, it matters if they have money. It's extremely insulting to the fans of the buffalo bills to think that a team like this can survive with a fan base that is a tenth of what buffalo's fan base is because their community is rich, or because other cities have 10 reporters on a game instead of 3. It's a slap in the face. The NFL I'm sure would say the most important thing is their fans, but it's not, it's the dollars. Getting back to the issue...I'd say that if what you intended to do was make a comment about how there's something the fans should be doing to get more media coverage, to make it a little clearer, that's all.
  6. Hey Tim- To be fair, you did throw in a jab about the Toronto media in there, and most bills fans are extremely paranoid about the potential of the bills moving/not happy about the bills playing in Toronto/not happy about any media outlet questioning the long term viability of a football team in buffalo, so any small mention of it is going to make people a little cranky. Also, I think the media coverage may have had a slight lull surrounding this game because Studwards didn't play. He's the big question mark of the season, and I would have been much more into what happened in the game if he played. Don't worry about a few nasty comments from a couple cranky Bills fans though. You'll have that; see: The Stadium Wall.
  7. Thanks a lot man. If you're a tool than so am I, cause I'm pumped up for tomorrow night.
  8. No help? Can anyone at least tell me whether or not the game will be on NFLN? I have TimeWarner, so there's no way for me to check this weekend's schedule.
  9. First of all, I didn't think this weekend's game was going to be carried live on NFL Network, but I read on the board it would be. The bills website doesn't say it'll be on NFLN, but can anyone else confirm that it will be? Secondly, for fans in the Albany area: I'm not from Albany, but I'm going to be visiting a friend that night and would definitely like to watch at least the first half of the game. I'm going to be east of the city in the westsand lake/averill park area, so does anyone know of a sports bar in that area or perhaps in east greenbush that would have the game on? Thanks in advance
  10. I'm not sure if this is a joke, but if it isn't, was the show that you made supposed to fit into a half hour time slot, because ESPN only showed 20 minutes. It started at 1:40 or shortly after and was over before 2. That seems to be the problem most people have with it, including myself. I liked what was in the show, showing a lot of the players that stepped up because of injuries and did admirably, and the highlights, but in the show, it showed the jets game, and then it went straight to the cleveland game, passing over like half the season.
  11. well, it didn't just start 10 minutes late, it was 10 minutes short too. AWFUL.
  12. Also, with upgrades to our starting linebacking corp. Elison and DiGiorgio should be awesome on special teams. They should be able to fill in for some of those key special teamers we lost.
  13. Writers, vegas odds, blah blah blah. Writers think we should be a good team because we have young talent with a lot of upside, were 7-6 and threatening to the playoffs before the last 3 weeks despite having the second worst offense, the third worst defense, and more players on injured reserve than anyone. Vegas odds are based on what will get even bets from the betting public, and I think the betting public probably sees us as a team with young talent (aka haven't done anything yet), and a team that went 7-9, losing the last 3 games of the season when they mattered most. No one except bills fans sees the bills as being a potential conference or super bowl champion, and even I don't see that for us this year. Either way, all of those rankings and odds you have listed, they're all just what someone thinks, or what someone thinks that everyone else will think, because jack asses like us have nothing better to do with our time than wish it was football season and think about how it's going to be this season. Basically what I'm saying is, who gives a donkey about vegas odds or sports writers? I know in my heart the bills are going to be good this year. We'll either make the playoffs or be the next team in line. The bills are turning the corner, and this group of players is going to make it happen for us.
  14. bumping this up for any late night TBDers that don't know it's on tonight in about 45 minutes
  15. I'd take him as a back up if I was a little more confident in Trent's ability to stay healthy, and if he can make it through this year I'll be convinced of that. It really is a shame about JP. If he had a better attitude about it he'd make a great back up. I can't blame him though, I still think he has the ability to be a starter in the NFL, he just needs a little more work and the right people around him.
  16. Now I'm not really trying to be a jerk, but who cares about willis mcthrillis anymore? We made the trade and came out on top. We have a harder worker, a harder runner, a better team guy, a guy with a bigger heart for the game. Let's move on.
  17. I very whole heartedly disagree. The bills have solid talent on both sides of the ball, talent enough to win 8 games even if a couple young players don't play to their potential. I'm not including marshawn or trent in that couple of players however. I have a lot of confidence in both of them. We definitely will not be bottom half of the league.
