  1. Sean Moran was my first guess, but I know the Bills didn't trade for him and he was here more than one season.
  2. It's driving me nuts I don't know who you're talking about. I'm assuming since you didn't state the player's name he didn't want you to do that. Would you mind giving us a hint as to who it was?
  3. Proof in scouting you have to go by a how a player plays the game and not the combine.
  4. I think Hardy was given every oppurtunity to start last season he just didn't perform when given the oppurtunity. The other players except Parrish became starters became starters, when their second year? I think Wood, Butler and Hangartner are locked up beyond next season.
  5. You don't use picks as high as this one not to be a starter.
  6. I'm confused. Unless he's going to play tackle shouldn't the interior line be fine with Wood, Hangartner and Butler. Is this a vote of non-confidence for Butler? Could Butler move to Tackle where he played in University I believe.
  7. The more I read about James Casey the more I like him. Good combine too.
  8. The trouble with Brown is he doesn't fill a need. RDE id Schobel's spot and he's too small to play LDE. Maybe he could play OLB and take over for Ellison.
  9. Fair Point, but the next Jeff Otah might be availible too. Carolina traded their 2009 1st rounder to Philly in 2008 to get an OT.
  10. I think sometimes a certain position is over valued. In 2003 defensive linemen were over valued. If you look at the draft many of them were busts, but people thought the players had to be drafted that high. I think with the success of players such as Jake Long, Ryan Clady and Jeff Otah last year people are over valueing OTs thinknig they will get similar value to last years OT crop.
  11. You think this is a weak draft? Do you think 2010 is stronger? I think some years when a strong draft is followed by a weak draft a 2nd rounder in the strong draft is worth as much as a 1st rounder in the weak draft.
  12. As I see it the Bills do not have enough high draft picks to fill all their needs this year. I do not think it is realistic to expect players to start after the second or may be even the third round. At best with the picks the Bills have now they can fill 4 needs maybe five if they package the 2 fourth rounders to get back into the 3rd round. As I see it the Bills have 6 needs. A TE, 2 starters on the o-line, a DE, a OLB and someone to man one of the other sfety spots next to Whitner. The way to fill these needs. Trade the 2010 first rounder. Another reason I could see it happening is that Jauron has to win NOW. If he's not around future draft picks are meaningless to him.
  13. I remember they showed what went on buffalobills.com when they were looking to trade up to get JP. The thing that really sucked about JP was that it was so expensive to get him. I think the cowboys got our pick at #20 in 2005, so the first rounders were a wash, but this team coulod ahve used those 2nd and 5th round picks.
  14. Jonas Jennings started at RT his first iirc. I know the Bills were 3-13 that season, but it wasn't because of his play. He is a fine football player, even as a rookie, so his play had very little to do with the 3-13.
  15. I remember the year Rashean Mathis came out Modrak made a reference to Bethune Cookman. I know the Bills didn't draft Mathis, but it seemed like too much of a coincidence for him to mention a school that produces so few nfl players and it be a year where one of their players be drafted.
  16. Thanks. I forgot Marc Ross is with the Giants now. It still would have been nice to have heard from Doug Majeski, Buddy Nix and some of the regional scouts. I think the regional scouts could have given more info on players like Maybin and Pettigrew than Modrak did.
  17. One player I actually really like is Clint Sintim LB of Virginia. 10 sacks last year. 9 the year before. I think he could take over for Ellison and be the pass rusher we need.
  18. Anyone else really disappointed with the draft luncheon video on buffalobills.com? Usually they have an hour of video, they have Marc Ross and some scouts there and take many questions on individual players. This year it was just Brandon and Modrak for 15 minutes.
  19. Why not just look at drafts in their entirity? Usually teams are satisfied if they get 2 to 3 starters per draft. If the Bills did that every draft would it matter where the players were selected?
  20. This is what I was thinking, but I didn't want to be the one who had to say it.
  21. What I'm saying is Brown and Orakpo are not big enough to play the left side, which is where the need is. Ayers is bigger than Brown and Orakpo and could play left defensive end.
  22. I could be wrong, but are Brown and Orakpo more the pass-rushing RDE type? Or do you see one of them taking over Ellison's spot. Robert Ayers seems more like the LDE this team needs to replace Denney and Kelday. The way Ayers is rising he's reminding me more and more of Whitner.
  23. He's too special. There's also the 2nd round. Many years I am as excited about the 2nd round as I am the first.
