  1. glad I was reading TSW lol
  2. A couple more players on the inside of both lines and I think this team will be good. Hargrove might just be the future at DE, well see how he continues to do the rest of the year.
  3. C performance all around.
  4. Lucky is not the right word to describe JP's performance today. I don't know exactly what is, but it is not lucky. JP made plays. The Offensive Line is improved at pass blocking. Once our run blocking gets better (new guards please) our offense should start to click more. I think Pennington possibly has a future at RT. Back-to-back game winning drives by JP, with clutch throws, is starting to win me over. If he can keep up this play he's our QB next season, no questions asked. We need better defensive lineman. All of our D-lineman are great guys to rotate in, but not every down players right now (with the exception being Schobel). I'm starting to wonder about Crowell. He seems to miss a couple tackles every game. Did Spikes even play today? Cieslak had a strong game, it'd be nice to see him get some more playing time.
  5. Wrong. Fezmid is correct.
  6. Yeah, because group-stomping on an FIU player's head is AOK as long as the other team started it. Yes, I have played sports. Yes, it happens in hockey. The difference? In hockey you don't have players trying to cut other players with their freaking skates. Facts? Sorry, but YOU'RE the one not letting facts get in the way of a pro-Canes bias. I have no anti-Canes or pro-Canes bias. I don't give a damn about that school. Why should I? I go to freaking Texas.
  7. The "they started it" defense. What are you, 7?
  8. Oh no, I'm "forcing" you to use the current accepted, academic definition. OH THE HORROR OF IT ALL! We should all use words without the commonly used definition so no one knows what each other is talking about. But no, you're not trying to redefine it from what is commonly accepted in English today, you're merely choosing to use a different, older definition.
  9. Crown is always a favorite of mine. Crown & Coke mix well together. Another favorite is Captain Morgan's and coke. So friggin good.
  10. Yeah, I do, but you seem to be blind to Miami's and Coker's failings this year.
  11. No, the student is confused and stupid, but that doesn't mean that we change our laws to do anything differently.
  12. F that
  13. Granted, I didn't watch it closely, I had a headache that was pretty bad so I was only half watching it, but the times I did they had some good chances. It could very well be that you are right and I just happened to catcht he right parts. In OT they had some great chances on MTL as well and it went back and forth. Unfortunately the Sabres didn't get the goal before MTL did.
  14. Yeah, I think we're in agreement on him.
  15. Yeah, because the pre-1800s definition is just SO relevant in the year 2006.
  16. Honestly, you don't get a coach like Mack that often, and I don't mind him. He really helped bring Texas back after Mackovic, and I'm really freaking glad we didn't get Gary Barnett. Mack didn't do a great job at hiring coordinators. I was really, really glad when a few years ago our DC resigned. After that we picked up Greg Robinson who was a big upgrade, and now we have Gene Chizik running the show (who I think is just awesome). Greg Davis is still a holdover from those times. Mack likes him, but he doesn't do a good job with the offense. Unfortunately, I doubt Mack will fire GD so we're stuck with him. My impression is that Mack is pretty hands-off with both sides of the ball, and leaves it up to the coordinators. Especially on defense, you can tell that the defense picks up the coordinator's direction. Robinson and Chizik both had different effects on the defenses which were very visible. If you fire Mack though, who do you get? You're taking a chance. You know what you get with Mack - usually 10 win seasons with a shot at the Conference or National Championship every year. I'd much prefer that over a different coach. Larry Coker is a perfect example. I do agree that they've probably underachieved under Mack, but I could think of a lot worse people to be stuck with. If Greg Davis ever resigns or gets fired, I think Mack will show that he's very good at running a program, and hopefully that'll improve our offense as well.
  17. Did you forget who you were? You aren't the bungee jumper - you lick windows.
  18. Not really. One player out of the whole dang team was suspended indefinitely, sorry that I forgot about him. Every single other player in the whole brawl was suspended one game, against Duke mind you. The next 3 games after that were all against ranked teams. Nah, that had nothing to do with it. Lots of FIU players were suspended indefinitely and some were dismissed, just like what should have happened at Miami. But no, apparently a group of players stomping on an opponent's head doesn't deserve longer then a 1-game suspension. Oh goodie, Coker suspended some players. What coach hasn't done that? That FIU/Miami brawl was all I needed to know about Coker. So, because LSU didn't take appropriate actions makes it okay that Miami didn't as well?
  19. Gregg's worth that 2 mil a year that they're paying him eh?
  20. Its possible that his shoulder injury was a factor. There were some throws where I thought it was - he under threw a few receivers that he should have hit. Though everyone that I saw the game with, and even people who had disagreed with me about Colt, were disappointed in his decision making today. I think that there were a couple different reasons why this happened. First, the secondary has been banged up all season. It really showed in the Kansas State loss (not to mention that our best CB, Aaron Ross, got juked out of his socks half the game). The thing thats surprised me the most about this team though was the offense. The whole scheme is terrible. We throw lots of one-yard routes and bubble screens which really got nothing. I had an issue with Greg Davis, our OC, back before Vince. I thought he did a good job designing an offense for Vince, but I don't like what he's doing around Colt. He's obsessed with beating teams with speed. It worked with Vince, because if nothing was there he could take off up the middle. We also ran up the middle, with the *same* RBs we have this year, and kept the defenses honest. If you watch our games this year, we don't run up the middle. We just don't. We run to the outsides, and if we do try to run up the middle, always bounce it to the outside. The passing plays are mostly to the outside, and we hardly ever send anyone over the middle. They rely on beating WRs on outside routes, or throwing a 1-yard or LOS pass which hopes the WR can beat a CB and pick up a few yards. The other thing that really annoys me is when we roll Colt out. He doesn't set his feet at all and throws off his back foot, and they are hardly ever great passes. He's a pocket passer and we try running him / rolling him out. It doesn't work. Yes, I know Texas scored a lot of points this year overall. However, lets look at the Offenses' production against the better teams on the schedule: Ohio State - 7 Oklahoma - 28 Nebraska - 20 A&M - 7 Not great. In those four games, against teams with decent defenses, Texas averaged just over 15 points. For a team which usually wins by being balanced - that isn't gonna get it done.
  21. Would you like me to share?
  22. Told you that Detroit sucks.
  23. I don't know why you quoted a post about gay people, but a lot of the fans who aren't completely interested in football would rather hear goofy announcers and "entertainment" then football. Most of the hardcore fans won't turn it off because they want to see the game. The risk of people actually not tuning in because of idiotic announcers is pretty low I'd think.
  24. They are. The food is ok. Its a nice place to watch a game though because you can pick the audio that you want.
  25. Thats the first time I've heard someone claim that Coker is classy. Yeah, he was real classy, only suspending his players for a game against Duke after the FIU game earlier this year.
