  1. Just saw it on IMAX. It was enjoyable, but I was disappointed. I was expecting to enjoy this one more than Batman Begins, but I didn't. There were some real cheese moments, such as the line, "The only morality in a cruel world is chance." The movie dragged at points, and I didn't really like the writing. I found myself much more interested in more minor characters in the film, like the Harvey Dent character, the Police Commissioner, and the mobsters. They did a good job with the overall personality of the Joker, but there wasn't anything to the Joker. Great, he's an anarchist. He wants other people to be anarchists, and he thinks the world is !@#$ed, I got that in the first part of the movie. Lack of really any depth made him seem more like a plot tool than a real character. It would have been much more interesting, imo, if they had explored harvey dent's emotional roller coaster more.
  2. I was worried that the Jets would be going after me. I realize I would be a superior football player, my fat would cause everyone else to slow to a crawl, but still, someone in the NFL should take precedence, no?
  3. My girlfriend and I just got our first house as well. The backyard is full of clover. Given the Texas weather, there really isn't a "winter season", as cincy suggests. Can we spray it now to kill it and try to grow grass?
  4. First, let me start with the things I really liked about the page: - The page looks easy to navigate. Everything is labeled well, and I know where to go to find what I want to find. - The page is certainly pleasing on the eyes, and not hard to look at. - It provides a pretty good amount of content. - It looks professional. I do have some suggestions though: - When I look at the page, my eye goes straight to the Youtube Buffalo Bills videos instead of the main news, and the right sidebar is taking up nearly 1/3rd of the available space. Perhaps it will change when it is centered in my browser, but I think the side bar is too big, taking away from the main focus of the page. Is there anyway to make that smaller? - The top banner is very plain. It looks pretty nice - its just missing something, perhaps a picture of Ralph Wilson Stadium in the background. - The news area kind of looks just like a wall of text - perhaps a background for the news post, changing the font of the headline a bit more and incorporating more white space between stories, or a divider between the posts would help (similar to the way Slashdot, Yahoo!, Google News, Blogs, etc. divide up their stories). - I've always found search boxes that offer to search the internet to be rather useless, especially with the advent of search boxes in browsers. I'd suggest making the default to be to search TBD, and let people know what search engine they're going to use when they search the "Internet" - I wouldn't touch that search box without knowing. - The big gray advertising box across the top reminds me of a typo-squatting page, but I understand the need to get money to reimburse the expenses, not sure theres much you can do about that, other than rework it (can it be made into banner advertising, or moved elsewhere on the page at all?) - The biggest thing, IMO, is that the space for news looks tiny and scrunched, while the other elements on the page jump out at you. I think the news content should jump out at you, while the other elements of the page are secondary, since they aren't the main content on the page. Making the news area larger and everything else smaller would go a long way toward that goal, IMO. Yahoo News, for example, has a much smaller video box on their page.
  5. But we don't take players who can't even make it at FSU? Tell your boy Chase not to think so highly of himself (and he's crazy saying Colts #2).
  6. Aint nothing wrong with playing a little pocket pool during a road trip.
  7. If he xferred from FSU, he sux.
  8. ur butt
  9. What poles do we get to choose from? Can we take Wayne Gretzky?
  10. Probably shouldn't reply to my post with "Right. They are dicks so DrD gets to steal. Even my My 1st grader recognizes that as a flawed argument," when I didn't argue that (the classic definition of a straw man argument). Might want to look up what it is before you go slinging insults.
  11. Hotel Indigo in Amherst
  12. I've never argued against the fact that pirating music is pirating music, hence why your response to my post was a straw man. And how many times do I have to say it? I DO NOT PIRATE MUSIC. Christ. The EFF wasn't talked about or linked to in his posts, although your first desire to jump all over them is amusing. We've already established that the law does distinguish between theft and infringement, something you even agreed to. Fez has also never stated, unlike what you keep claiming, that infringement is legal or ethical. They might actually see it drop if they released some reasonably priced, DRM-free, high quality songs in multiple formats. If nothing else, they'd see an increase in their profits, from people like me who would buy songs instead of listen to Sirius all the time. Technically, making copywrited material available (aka sharing) isn't against the law. Transferring it to someone who hasn't bought a license to use it is. A straw man argument, since the people invoking the little guy defense have been doing it to point out the shady behavior by the big guy, not to absolve shady behavior by the little guy.
  13. I decided to take a look at his history, since I didn't remember him saying its not a real crime, nor him saying that its ethical to pirate music. I did, however, remember a long thread from last year about music piracy, so I decided to take a look at that one. From this post, he flat out states "Yeah, I was never trying to imply that it wasn't illegal, just that it wasn't theft." In fact, no where in that debate does he argue that its not a real crime. I also looked further back through some discussions about DRM, piracy, and the like, and didn't see anything to suggest he didn't think it was a real crime.
  14. The only argument I've seen put forth by him in this thread is: "I'm been flamed for saying this before, but it's a very important point -- STEALING IS NOT THE SAME AS COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT."
  15. Technically, he's correct (the best kind of correct). Dowling v. United States
  16. Too many peaches.
  17. Only if you completely ignore the rest of his body language. lol, awesome
  18. He sure looks disinterested and lacking confidence in that photo.
  19. Apparently you dun know what the word "Cult" means.
  20. He had his hands in his pockets for !@#$s sake. What kind of body language is that?
  21. Nice straw man argument. Please point out where in this thread I advocated such a position. I was replying to your complaint that people make them seem like "the antichrist"
  22. Geez, thats a religion.
  23. I'm sure that walking around with their hands in their pockets will negatively impact their job performance.
  24. What the hell do you think a.) meant? (And yes, there are multiple reasons as to why piracy is so high). Because the RIAA is just so ethical, right?
  25. Godzilla isn't a song dumbo, its a monster.
