  1. The picture? That's Deano on top. Who took the picture? Hmm.........
  2. The Bells stores were eventually sold out to Quality Markets. Over time many locations were closed (the one at Delaware & Sheridan has since been torn down and replaced with a strip plaza). Bells also had a secondary chain of stores for the "smaller" stores- there was one in Fredonia. Super Duper became Jubilee Markets. There are still stores scattered in the Erie/ Niagara County areas but not the market force that Tops/ Wegmans is. The Kenmore Avenue (Buffalo) location was closed and is now a Budweys market.
  3. The Dean has moved to Oneonta to be LSI's college roommate. Here is a picture of The Dean with LSI in their dorm room
  4. Super Duper, their prices haven't gone up in years.
  5. What's next? David Lynch working on a sequel to Eraserhead?
  6. This thread is teetering......
  7. I didn't need to see this video to confirm that Bill O'Reilly is a piece of sh--.
  8. per Chris Mathews. Mathews I'd have to agree.
  9. Just a reminder, it was reported that the Steelers had planned on drafting Hardy with their first pick until Mendenhall fell into their lap. Thus, the Steelers preferred Hardy over Sweed.
  10. How about the Eagles WR coach?
  11. Buffalo '66. Forever a cult classic. Layla: (sighs) You kidnapped me... you pulled my hair, you threatened me. I just went in there in and did you a favor and I thought I did a good job. And... Billy Brown: And what was that sh-- about the CIA? I asked you nice, I said nice: MAKE ME LOOK GOOD! Wha-CIA? You think my father believed that? Do you think he believed that for one second... 'You're son works for the CIA, all the girls love him'... he's nn-smart! He's smart!
  12. Doesn't seem like anyone is willing to step up to the plate and have a discussion with you. Maybe they are all over at this site.
  13. Be careful, I think he's the same guy that caused them to close down the I-90 in Buffalo last night.
  14. It's a "great" beach? Lurker, we will have to disagree on that one. As far as what Marv has actually told someone I know personally at PFW, we will have to disagree on that one also. We can agree that Marv is a class act and that he certainly wishes all the best for the Buffalo franchise while it's there.
  15. Lurker, have you spent any time at that beach? It's a beauty. It's right next to a sewage treatment plant. In recent years the beach has been closed up to 30% of the possible beach days due to...umm, you figure it out. Sounds like a nice place for the "Lurker" family to hang out.
  16. Yes, it actually is. Freezer Queen Site
  17. You make it sound, oh, so cozy! Let's not forget that the Freezer Queen site has been reported to be rat infested. That should add to the coziness.
  18. Hmm. Maybe Hardy is more like Marvin Harrison than we realized.
  19. Love your comment back FWIW it's not personal with me. I love what I love about Buffalo and could care less if people don't agree with me. Was anything I said untrue about what living on a pier on the Buffalo waterfront would be like ? Do you live in the city? Have you ever lived in the city? Have you truly spent time on a daily basis near the waterfront in Buffalo? Details please.
  20. Just a reminder for any folks that would consider buying one of those condos at the old Freezer Queen Site. They are being built in a pier surrounded on three sides by water. If you haven't been on the waterfront between December through March, you are going to have a new appreciation for what a Buffalo winter is really like. I'm not talking Amherst, Lancaster or Orchard Park "tough Buffalo winter"- I'm talking brutal, on the waterfront weather ,that most even true Buffalonians ,have never experienced on a daily basis. Enjoy the view.............
  21. I have lived in Buffalo, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago. As a Buffalo native, the thing that drives me the most nuts about Buffalonians is how thin skinned they are. The city's collective self esteem is so low it's embarassing. In recent years I was in Buffalo when the NCAA tournament was here, the pathetic reporters were following people around asking them "What do you think of Buffalo?" at every turn. Who the f*k cares!!!!!!!!!!!! The need for some sort of positive national validation is frightening. Buffalo has it's strengths and weaknesses like every other area in the country. If you like it there, who the hell cares what anyone else thinks?
  22. In honor of Irv Weinstein: James "Pistol Packing Punk" Hardy.
