  1. Funny Stuff! Makes me wonder why there is no Popeyes in the Buffalo area. I love their greasy/lard/buttery biscuits- way better than KFC.
  2. The Maybin Family:thumbsup: In the internet age we read so many tidbits, blurbs and crapola. The best newspaper writers have always been great storytellers, Tim thank you for continuing in the tradition.
  3. He's walking towards you!
  4. Anyone have a link for that one?
  5. FWIW: Chris Brown mentioned on draft day that the Bills had interest in Patrick Chung.
  6. Nice find Blame Canada. It's nice to hear such positive comments about Shawn Nelson from Mayock. It was even more encouraging to see Nelson take down Ray Maualuga. Also, Nic Harris was great.
  7. I'm not one for putting the band back together again usually- but Gaines IS a better blocker than any TE on our roster and was an asset on special teams. Last year, Gaines signed a four-year free-agent contract with the Lions, worth a reported $10 million ($3 million guaranteed) The Bills did try to sign him before he left for the Lions in free agency, so maybe there might be some interest again. His illusions of being a complete starting tight end might be over, and he could settle into a nice complementary role here with the Bills.
  8. The difference between Nawrocki and Gosselin is that Nawrocki actually watches tape, scouts and comes up with an independent opinion. Gosselin is no better than a "draft aggregator" and interviews people for THEIR opinions and forms them into lists. I don't get the constant kudos for Gosselin, though a good writer, he should not even be considered in the same realm as Nawrocki.
  9. Buftex has been a very reputable member here at TBD and his word is gold IMHO.
  10. Thanks for sharing the news Buftex. It's certainly very sad to hear, and prayers go out to the entire Wilson family. On a small sidenote: Too bad she wont be there to see Ralph get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
  11. Well, I was thinking of getting a Bills jersey of one of the new rookies for this season. My first choice was Levitre, but I'm worried that it would be too stiff to wear.
  12. If Levitre is caught "holding" will he face a "stiff" penalty?
  13. An excerpt from Peter Kings MMQB column this AM: • New England. I was told last night the Patriots loved Eric Wood, the Louisville center who projected to center or guard in the NFL.
  14. FYI Best I found- is my favorite Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly who predicted 14 players going to their respective teams in the first round. Nawrocki also correcty picked the Bills first round choice for the 4rth straight year. The National Football Post picked 10 correctly. Mike Mayock picked 9 correctly. Rick Gosselin picked 8 correctly.
  15. per CNNSI: BIOGRAPHY: Two-year starter who also saw limited action with the first team as a sophomore. Totals last season included 44/7.5/4 after 46/7/4.5 as a junior. POSITIVES: Hard-working, undersized defensive lineman with limited upside. Displays good first step quickness, works his hands throughout the action, and plays with good lean. Works hard until the whistle blows, and shows the ability to shoot the gaps upfield and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. NEGATIVES: Easily controlled at the point by a single blocker. Lacks bulk, and wears down over the course of the game. ANALYSIS: Lindquist is a slug-it-out defender with marginal size and athleticism. He offers potential as a one-gap lineman, yet he must significantly pick up his production this summer to have any chance of making a roster. PROJECTION: Free Agent
  16. An excerpt from the site: corner.bigblueinteractive.com Which aggregates various scouts comments. AARON MAYBIN Penn State 6-4 250 4.73 1 Just a third-year sophomore. Redshirted in 2006, backed up in '07 and wasn't starting in '08 until Maurice Evans was suspended after three games. "He plays hard but he's not experienced," Baltimore personnel director Eric DeCosta said. "He's raw with a lot of his techniques. He's not physically as mature strength-wise. He's undeveloped." Finished '08 with 12 sacks, giving him 16 in two seasons. "His first three steps are like Jevon Kearse," one scout said. "The closest I've seen to Kearse. He doesn't run as well as Derrick Thomas. But he's not real heavy in there and his weight gain in a short period of times scares me a little bit." Played the Rose Bowl at 226, then was 250 at the combine. Classy individual with 25 on the Wonderlic. "He's a player that will be reckoned with," Arizona scout Jerry Hardaway said. "You've got to get him stronger. Sometimes you see him all out, sometimes he isn't. Athletically, he'll fit a 3-4 or a 4-3. He could be as good as he wants to be." Vertical jump of 40 inches.
  17. I still can’t believe TE Shawn Nelson lasted all the way until the fourth round, but he may be the biggest value pick in the entire draft. Nelson is exactly what the Bills need in the passing game. He has an ability to make plays down the seam and create mismatches all over the field. I expect him to become an impact tight end at the next level.
  18. They are just f-ing with us now! lol
  19. Is ILB Dannell Ellerbe: Georgia.....still available? If so....he might be the guy.
  20. Gerald Cadogan sounds good to me.
  21. Second-round value picks Five players drafted in the second round who could prove to be excellent value selections: -CB Jairus Byrd (Bills, No. 42 overall): The son of an NFL coach, Byrd's lack of ideal timed speed pushed him into the second round, but he's an instinctive player who profiles as a future starter. Byrd is competitive, has tremendous ball skills, isn't afraid to tackle, and offers versatility as a possible return man or future safety. -DE Everette Brown (Panthers, #43 overall): Ultimately, Brown was dinged for his lack of ideal height and inability to hold up vs. the run, but the Panthers valued his explosiveness off the edge and traded up to grab him. Going to the Panthers, Brown won't have to worry about making a conversion to outside linebacker and will be able to do what he does best: attack the quarterback. He has potential to develop into a devastating pass rusher and could look like a steal three years from now. -C Max Unger (Seahawks, #49 overall): Coming into today, Unger's name was linked with California's Alex Mack and Louisville's Eric Wood, as the three have long been considered the best centers available. In the end, Unger was the only one left out of the first round, but the Seahawks made a move to procure his services. An experienced blocker, Unger's size, movement skills and versatility to play anywhere along the offensive line makes him a safe second-round choice. -OG Andy Levitre (Bills, #51 overall): Two picks after Unger was gobbled up by the Seahawks, the Bills also looked to the Pacific Northwest, tabbing Oregon State left tackle Andy Levitre. Not one of the sexiest first-day picks, but Levitre's intelligence, durability and hand use should play well inside for the Bills. -RB LeSean McCoy (Eagles, #53 overall): "Shady's" momentun trailed off a bit as the evaluation process ran its course, but he might've landed in a beneficial spot, as the Pitt Panther stays in the Keystone State. More importantly, he can fit initially as a complementary player whose shake-and-bake running style and natural receiving skills give Donovan McNabb another weapon. McCoy should be able to find creases running behind the Eagles' powerful offensive line.
  22. Per Pro Football Weekly: 10 (42) Buffalo — CB Jairus Byrd, Oregon If Byrd would have ran faster on stopwatches, he could have been a first-round pick. He is very instinctive, has terrific hands and ball skills and could bring additional value as a returner. He plays smart, is usually in the right position at the right time and compensates for his lack of timed speed with great instincts. He could give the Bills their third starter in this draft.
  23. Per Pro Football Weekly: 19 (51) Buffalo (from Dallas) — OG Andy Levitre, Oregon State The Bills may have lost Jason Peters and Derrick Dockery, but they have now landed two solid replacements in Eric Wood and Andy Levitre, a college left tackle, who will both bolster the middle of the line. Levtire is very smart, understands angles and can be very efficient in a short area.
