1. I am glad TD is our GM not you.You do not cut a player with a low cap #  who can help the team just because he is unhappy. If he makes waves in the locker room JP will say, just shut the F up and play Big Cat.

Good point. JP is already the established leader of the Bills both on the field and in the locker room!

There is NO WAY TD will make a draft pick next season without consulting JP, and if any player acts up MM will seek the guidance of the leader and guru of the Buffalo Bills Football Team.......Big Cat!!!!!

  2. I wouldn't say he was going to be on the team. I have no idea. I believe that TD will keep him until he gets what TD considers a good offer, the same as he has always said. I don't know, and TD doesn't know, and Travis doesn't know, if that offer will materialize or not. If one doesn't, he will be on the team IMO.

He released Edwards outright; a smart move because he just flat out sucked.

It is ironic that some of the same people who are in a tizzy today when anybody says anything negative about TD were beside themselves, shouting that we should have got something for him.

I am saying that if TD does not like any trade offers, he will cut him. It makes sense. If TH was cut, a GM who made an "insulting or insufficient" offer might then have to compete with other teams/salary offers to obtain his services.

Am I being clear at all?

  3. I'm with you.  I don't want TH being a disruptive presence throughout the season, which he will be whether he's holding out or sitting on the bench pouting.

There seem to be 3 views on TH.

1.People who act like we are giving up hope of a playoff berth if TH is not on the bench ready to save the day.

2.People who are out for a vendetta and insist that the Bills should let TH rot on the bench and honor his contract unless TD can get a 2nd round pick for him.

3.People who want TH traded or cut before opening day.  It's time to move on.  This team is being built around WM, JP, LE and EM.....not TH.

Count me in as part of view #3.

    319674

I fully agree, and #1 is hilarious!!!!!:lol:

  4. because???????????????

    319638

    1) He is a virtual idiot and his agent at least appears to be a rank amateur. He probably thinks that he can force the hand of TD to cut him.

    2) Every season, players get hurt in camp. Even proven, great players such as JP. It is likely that the Bills could use that 1 million dollars or so to pay someone who wants to play football for the Buffalo Bills. Who knows, they might even sign a player with a brain.

    3) If Travis stays, records indicate that the Bills will simply lose games in which he is the starting RB.

    4) He is a sup par player. He is bad at every phase of football, except he can run well in some settings.

    5) He is of less value to the Bills than are less costly players. Give me Aiken or Stamer and their unselfish ST contributions over this selfish, stupid dog, a flea bitten do to boot.

    6) Ralph will want to puke at the thought of this miscreant and will NOT be paying him this kind of money.

    Was that OK?

  5. dave, you're a complete buffoon for making this post. For all you know, the Titans offered a 7th round pick. Which yes, is tantamount to being offerered NOTHING for travis.

I can't believe how many people around here react like 8th grade ninnies to the slightest news that doesn't fit the draft and roster imaginings in their syphilitic minds.

    319554

If dave thinks that TD is virtually worthless, does this talent evaluation qualify him as a "complete buffoon?"

  6. So, TD does what you want and trades TH for a 7th round pick.  Then, Travis goes out and runs for 1,500 yds and 12 TDs, and everyone is ready to shoot TD because he gave up a probowl back for a 7.  It just doesn't work that way.

Travis should not be traded for anything less than a 3.

    319322

Travis is not worth a 3 nor will any team ever give one up for him.

  7. Read the last sentance in the d&C quote. If someone offered a sixth rounder right now for Willis, would that constitute a reason to have a converstaion. TD was upfront all the way that the Bills would only take a trade if they thought they were getting"fair" value. If Fisher called TD and said we would consider TH for our fifth, is that something TD should have reponded to?

    319258

    Probably so.

  8. 2003 was an incredible draft that I give Donahoe much credit for. Usually teams are happy with 2 starters per draft and Donahoe got 3 McGahee, Kelsay and Mcgee. If by some odd chance Aiken becomes a #3 receiver (unlikely with Roscoe) and Crowell who apparently has been great on special teams becomes a starter say by beating out Posey it will just be a bonus.

    318911

Aiken also makes many plays on ST coverage.

Yes, that was an amazing draft.

  9. To be honest with you, I don't believe a single word that POS web site publishes. The guy is rarely right, and is obviously a site designed by a ignorant rookie. It's there to generate ad revenue, and is clearly low budget.

    318906

The thing is, in a way, GMs are competing for each other's jobs. They have to play hardball.

TD is a tough guy, as are most GMs. Ego-maniac? He is probably modest when compared to Parcells and some others.

I agree, the article is nonsense.

  10. You're confusing me with someone who spends all day defending TD. Let me repeat: I am not defending TD as a whole but rather his handling of the TH situation. And for what it's worth, outside of the fact that they each have a year left on their contracts, there is virtually NO similiarities between Nate and Travis. None.

    - Nate didn't say he felt we slapped him the face when we drafted Eric King.

    - Nate didn't say he will absolutely NOT being playing for the Bills this year.

    - Nate does not trip over his own shadow or have a terrible time picking up a blitz.

    - Nate doesn't have the mental capacity of a mop.

Look...you don't like TH and you don't like TD. I get it. But your argument here is a terrible, terrible stretch. If and when the time comes to deal with Nate Clements, should TD get nothing for him, then I would think he should be schittcanned. But he has yet to get nothing for anyone of value so I'm not quite sure where you're getting this creativity.

    318685

Just one correction.....if you read my posts, I like and respect TD.

  11. Maybe I am splitting hairs, but can you define what you mean buy getting zero in return?  Depending how you look at value or ROI, I could make an argument that we have gotten exceptional value/ROI from NC and his current contract.  Same with TH.  While it definitely would be nice to get something in return (ie draft picks, players), I realize that's not always possible.  Maybe I am being too pragmatic at the moment...

    318673

No, your question is quite valid.

I agree that NC has given us more than our moneys worth. Wrt to Travis, I feel that he has been a liability and a loser.

That said, they are still under contract. In essence, we own their rights. I would have liked to have seen the Bills salvage anything for Travis.

Nate is a different story. He is worth a great deal. Imo, it comes down to whether or not Mr. Wilson will give him 55 million or so with a 20 million dollar bonus. Do you think that RW will cough up this kind of cash for a corner?

I do not, and I would rather get something in return for him than lose him to free agency and get nothing whatsoever. That, or sign him now, if in fact he would be willing.

  12. Correct, Doc. Kenny Davis had a couple of nice gains off center-screens that day, too, and the D absolutely throttled Miami's offense. 26-3 early in the fourth quarter, and the Fishies ended up with all of 33 yards rushing and 5 turnovers.

The '96 game - December 30 1995, actually - was the one that put Steve Tasker on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Couldn't stop him, or TT, or Darick Holmes, or Timmy Tindale... heck, Ralph could've scored against them that day. 27-0 at the end of the third quarter. What a perfect way to end Don Shula's coaching career. <_<

Lori, it is literally GREAT to hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys are killing me here! :):D

It looks like the jests this year. We wanted the falcs on 9/25 but Rory cant make it.

    C'mon, stick around, OK? :w00t:;)

  13. Pretty annoying habit of yours, I must say. Please show me where I even implied that Losman had a very strong arm? All I said was it is strong enough to throw bombs and to throw 40 yard outs, which is the measuring stick. Why do you insist on implying things that the other posters didn't say nor come close to implying. No one here in this thread, no one here in any thread as far as I recall has compared Losman's arm strength to all-time greats or stronger than anyone in the game.

    318654

Let me try one last time. I AM SAYING that JP has a strong arm!

I just think that the 'every single throw" thing is a reach and a half. That is all I mean. Nothing else.

Billy Kilmer had perhaps the weakest arm I ever saw, but he had more touch on short passes than does Drew.

Elway threw accurate 50 yard ropes accross the field while scrambling out of the pocket.

Montana threaded the needle between 3 defenders for a gain of 18 on 3rd and 17 in a superbowl. There are many different types of passes and they all matter.

I am not ready to say that JP can throw all of them, especially the freak out patterns of 40 yards. I saw Marino throw one at the Ralph and was literally stunned. The ball was never 20 ft in the air, or so it seemed.

The way JP can move and do other things, if he could make those throws he would have went before Manning.

    Feel free to disagree.

  14. Look, I am not trying to be a prick, I was being sincere in my question.  Sorry if it came across the wrong way.

    318642

I am sorry. My entire (however weak) point was that only a small handful of qbs can make the true deep throws (without a ton of air). If this was the end-all, Drew would still be here.

I merely took exception when a poster used the phrase "every throw."

JP is comparatively small. He seems to have enough arm strength, maybe even more than Montana, who didn't have a cannon. I dont dispute that.

I shouldn't have nit-picked, but again, from what little I saw, I dont view him as having a Marino type arm. No big deal. Neither did Steve Young, and how good was he?

    See what I mean?

  15. What kind of throw cannot he not make in the hours of game film and practice time you have seen him play in? The bomb? The 40 yard out? The swing pass? The short slant? The lob over LBs and in front of safeties? There are throws where you have seen him miss time and time again, or not have the arm strength that JP Losman cannot make? What kinds of throws are these?

    318630

I give up. You are right again. JP has a much stronger arm than Drew, Marino and Dan Pastorini combined.

I guess it is "homer" time again, which must be fun, but please play without me this time.

  16. Out of curiousity where/when did you see that he could not may every throw?  Was it last year in the regular season? Training camp?  If so, let's hope he's had time to work on it and improve.

    Thanks for the info.

    318632

OK, I take it back. JP has, can, and will continue to throw 50 yard ropes accross the field (while on the run) just like Elway.

JP can do anything and make any throw. He is the greatest of all time.
