A WR like Bolquin is terrific, but I think the OL and DL priorities are higher. This team does not have enough depth on defense to deal with injuries to significant starters. Not much of a pass rush to speak of, and an overrated, sub-standard OL. They also need a head coach with brass balls. It's like deja vu all over again. Make this a team that smacks people in the mouth and demands respect, and you'd have a swagger again.

Someone should tell Dick Jauron and Turn Schonert that you PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Why the hell are they punting on 4th and 3 at Pats 39 late in the first half? After the wasted timeout, it left them without enough timeouts to get the ball back. Sadly it wasn't the only time they had 4th down in Patriots territory and decided to play it safe (e.g., not going for it on 4th and 1 from the 46 when they needed a score to have a chance to cut into the Patriots' lead). You give your offense and your kicker the message that "We don't trust you to get the job done." I was ticked off at Edwards for making some horribly inaccurate passes. I was disgusted by the receivers not running the right routes. But the namby pamby, fraidy scared coaching was the cherry on the crap sandwich served up by NE once again.

Bingo. "I am not allowed to mention it..." Simmons has any negative references to ESPN personalities edited out of his columns by TPTB at ESPN.com. And he has a hair across his ass because of that and some other pieces and podcasts that ESPN nixed for various reasons. He has alluded to on this personal blog.

Both teams have defensive secondaries that have been hit hard by injuries. The difference will likely be the fact that New England has a decent pass rush that can cover up mistakes by the DBs. Besides, if the Bills stop the slant pass on Sunday, it will be the first time this year. I wish I could be more optimistic, but the three losses really exposed the defense for what it is.

Unless something changes, Cassel will have a field day throwing quick slants to Welker and Moss....screen passes to Faulk or the tight end.

And when a team self-immolates because of turnovers and poor execution, then the coaches didn't do a very good job of preparing the team.

Everyone is pissed, but I see today's biggest problem as a failure to execute -- not a lack of talent. If you think they should throw the baby out with the bath water, then that's your right.

I'm upset about this game, but the overreaction in this thread is ridiculous.
