  1. OK-enough is enough. I don't want a group hug or anything. I will make an effort not to blog while partaking of my beloved tequila. It's all good. I grew up in Pittsford long before the Bills transferred to St. John Fisher's College. I grew up in Pittsford when Burdett's was the only grocery store. Thirsty's was NOT a dive and the pizza place was Norr's Arc. Hicks and McCarthy's was making burgers and shakes. Pittsford had two high schools. Don and Bob's only served real food in Brighton. The Coal Tower by the Barge Canal did not exist. I went to Fredonia State and got kicked out for too much partying. The Bills were still training there. Black Horse Ale was soooo bad it was sold for a nickel. I transferred to to the U of R.
  2. At least I can use the effects of a good bottle of tequila to justify my blog. At least I can use contractions and spell properly. What is your excuse? Look this has become almost personal and beyond comical. I made a post. It is football Sunday. I am under the impression that this is going to be a pleasant/fun thing to do. This ranks up there with a root canal , getting your fingernails pulled out at the roots, or getting a second vasectomy. Many of you are not taking the time to read the message. It is like killing the messenger before you read the message. I am wondering if and when the "Good Lord" was passing out common sense, some of you were in the nose line. Critique me all you want. The bottom line is this: 1.We need a rb with balls. 2. We need a te who can catch and block. Release the current te/tes on the roster. 3. We need a qb to manage the game and have a strong arm to deal with the weather in upstate N.Y. 4. We need a possession receiver wr to help evans. 5. Most important of all this is a serious BUZZ-KILL.
  3. Ew era ton yrev doog won. Figure that out. Basically that was the message I tried to send, but did it poorly-Tequila is a beautiful thing and is also kosher-it really is kosher. Jim Kelly would be an afterthought, if not for Thurman Thomas and Pete Metz. Andre Reed was awesome, but without Thurman Thomas and a te who could block and catch, the run of Super Bowls would not have happened. I have often pondered whether or not our o-line during the Super Bowl runs would be effective today in this era of football. Look, those of you who pine and whine about improper punctuation and grammar are probably the same individuals who spell "definitely" incorrectly. Those who have issues with the aforementioned statement need to go and get laid more often. No "Rosey Palm" is not a girlfriend. The term "rocket surgery" was from a commercial. It does not invoke an improper statement. It is a play on words. Mas tequila!!
  4. Do they play pro football in LA? I think not. Game. Set. Match.
  5. Perhaps this is better. If you read the post completely, you will see the arguments I made are valid. The bottom line is this: 1. A cold weather team needs an offensive line to open holes for a rb that will run over people instead of dancing his way to his next long term contract. Our te position is brutal. 2. We need a rb to play for the love of the game. Adrian Peterson is a prime pick. 3. Never judge a book by its cover. 4. This is supposed to be fun, not a judgement on whether or not a person is educated. By the way I am retired at the ripe old age of 43. I graduated from the University of Rochester. I am a retired Army Infantry Veteran of 20 years. What I post and how I post it are not important. At least I have been loyal enough through thick and thin to be a Bills fan since the 60's. Most of you were itching your parents' pants when I was eating wings and drinking Genny 12 Horse.
  6. what part of the post is incoherent? oh, i didn't use proper punctuation or caps when needed. was not aware that these were required to post and be a bills fan. the stroke was almost funny. is syracuse still playing football?
  7. i am a long time suffering bills fan. believe it or not we are not as far off the playoff path as some may think. we will not make it this year. i live in maine but grew up in rochester. i would kill for zweigles red hot dogs. last time i checked the bills are a cold weather team. we need a rb with balls enough to run somebody over-a la corey dillon- instead of dancing. i have said this from day one drafting willis was a bad move. travis henry has an iq between a beet and a cabbage, but when healthy he gives it his all. he has been the man for the titans over the past month. he is a tough warrior, who i feel got a raw deal. the thought of travis and shelton as fb would be sweet. i can see us drafting a 1st round rb like lynch or peterson, i like mcfaden out of arkansas but he is a sophomore. adrian peterson is a hell of a ball player. he injured a shoulder, his legs are good to go. ask his former teammate peters how good adrian is. if not injured and the sooners not getting jobbed in oregon he could be leading the race for the heisman and the sooners would be playing osu for the national title. the o-line needs tweaking. i think the o-line can be more productive. the kids we drafted will be ok. believe it or not we have one of the biggest o-lines in the game. they should be able to fall/collapse forward and the rb should be able to gain positive yardage. we need a fearless possession wr. the kid out of notre dame-samsopmething or other-would be nice. the bills offense has not been any good since te pete metz. retired. he was kelly's security blanket. damn he was close to 7 feet tall. our te position sucks. we need a te that can both catch and block. release all the current te on the roster now. te from kc gonzalez is free agent. i can dream!! the qb needs to NOT lose the game for us. jp may be the most athletic and strongest armed qb in the game-given the chance. he needs a o-line and a running game to be consistent. jp needs to learn to manage a game not win it. wr evans is a keeper but he is a burner like beebe or lofton. we need a someone other than josh reed to run the slant route like andre reed used to. jauron made da bears a power running team. i can't even remember who the qb was--i think it was cade mcnown. they went 13-3!! we will not be consistent until the entire offense realizes this. i would not mind trading for cedric benson of the bears. he is a moron with a big mouth, but a change of scenery may be just what he needs. i bet we could get him for a second round pick or later even. the defense and special teams are good. takeo needs to do some serious off season work to keep his job. i am resigned to the fact that fletcher and clements will be gone after the season. we are stuck with the cover-2, but i have always felt we played best as a 3-4 defense. remember wade phillips had our defense kicking ass. say what you want ted washington was THE MAN. pat williams was no slouch. hell sam adams rotating with these boys was a beautiful thing. in a nutshell jauron wants a power running game with a qb to manage the game and go deep when needed or check down to a te. we have a wr and qb combo. we need a rb, te, and consistent o-line play. the defense and special teams will pick up the slack. anyway, i am drinking corazon tequila and have a nice buzz. my son is coming home on leave for the holidays from the usaf-he called me today. i feel blessed today. i miss the wings and deli's in upstate ny. your thoughts?
  8. if we blow this thing up and start over again could our offense look like this? center-merz guards-preston and butler tackles-peters and pennington tight ends-royal and everett wide receiver-evans and reed quarterback-nall running back-willis fullback-we have nobody who should be starting. make royal the h-back the ny giants started all new guys when eli was just starting out. we will need to cut the guys who aren't working out for us. your thoughts?
  9. i am going with the assumption that we will not be able to draft brady quinn. he will be the first or second pick in the draft.
  10. would love to see us draft rb darius walker out of notre dame. reminds me of thurman. he has speed to get to the corner, can run between the tackles, and can catch the ball. i also like the wr smad-something. your thoughts
  11. can't believe we blew that game. the schedule for the rest of the season does not look appealing for us. if we are lucky we will beat green bay, houston, miami, and the titans. when do we blow this thing up and start over again?
  12. I don't normally like to say I told you so...
  13. The Bears remind me alot of the Pats. They play just well enough to win, no matter who the opponent may be. That's all that counts. The only piece that was missing was a competent qb with a rocket for an arm. He will only get better with experience. The RB gets the tough yards and can protect the qb from getting killed. The WR do not scare anyone. Both lines are tough. The DL are the studs. Same as the Pats. This is what happens when you spend a night drinking.
  14. the pats have allowed him to seek a trade. he would look good in a bills uniform opposite evans. what would you give up for him?
  15. was reading that the falcons have 2 players that i think would make the bills respectable going into next season. qb matt schaub and rb tj duckett contracts are up at the end of the year. both would look good in bills uniforms. schaub is very good. duckett would make our rb spot with willis maybe the most feared in the league. duckett will be expendable with the emergence of the rookie norwood. your thoughts
  16. The Falcons like the rookie Norwood to replace TJ Duckett. He would be an awesome duo with WM. Let's trade Price to the Falcons for Duckett--lol. Kidding aside, I would not mind Duckett in a Bills uniform.
  17. Had an evil thought--Tom Donohoe as GM of the Texans. Eric Moulds would drop a load.
  18. I have been reading all the posts on Willis. Willis is 24. He has been a pampered athlete. The sh-- is about to hit the fan either this season or next. This season he must learn a new system. Even sleep walking he should get at least 1000 yards. I think next year his contract is up. He will be a second year in the system. The o-line and qb situation should be squared away. The offense will be hand the ball to Willis and run right, hand the ball to Willis to run left, or hand the ball to Willis to run up the gut. Either he will become the best back in the league or not. It will not be due to a lack of carries. I think we should have drafted a rb to push and motivate Willis. Lendale White in the second round would have been nice. The new Bills regime will not give Willis the big bucks if he can't produce on the field. Remember Bruce Smith was not a model citizen, but come game day, he was a force to be reckoned with.
  19. if huff were available, we could have taken him and then traded up for donte whitmer instead of mccargo
  20. the birds may have had the best offseason in the league. they de abraham from the jets. they pair cb williams with db deangelo hall
  21. mark it down--we will get qb brady quinn of notre dame in 2007 draft. all the other qbs will be filing for disability by the end of this season.
  22. take lendale white late in the first round to motivate wm
  23. The only way our team will ever be any good is to have open competition at every position. Every player on the team should have the opportunity to replace the starter at any time. Every coach that has won a super bowl has done this. That being said, we draft the best available athlete in the draft at #8. It should not matter who is on the team now. We need to draft the best player available-period. During our Super Bowl runs we had the best players at each position on the field. Our NT then was Jeff Wright. Can anyone honestly remember what round and from where he was drafted? Frank Reich led us the greatest comeback in history. Franchises like the Steelers and the Pats come to mind. Bill Parcell's NY Giant teams also. That being said I think If Vernon Davis falls to us we draft him. All the blocking in the world won't help if the wr's aren't consistently open. Besides our o-line is going to take more than this off season to fix. Hope Reed steps up. A double TE set of Davis and Royal and Willis in the backfield could be sweet. At least the QB will have options throwing short. Even by drafting Davis at #8 if available, we will not be much better going into next year's draft. I don't see winning more than 6 games. Marv will draft Brady Quinn of Notre Dame to be the franchise's new face. He will be Marv's Jim Kelly. That's my rant.
  24. Eli showed improvement from one season to the next. JP has not. I never said get rid of him this season. No matter where JP goes he will need to take his lumps in order to gain experience. Marv will draft Brady Quinn in 2007.
