  1. Answer to original question is not enough. Only thing Bills have that they’d trade Young for is Allen and that ain’t happening in a million years. The 25th pick and late 1st rounders for the foreseeable future ain’t gonna help Washington land a franchise QB.
  2. Goodell gonna be making $100m a year pretty soon as the human shield for these billionaires.
  3. ‘Protect’ also means cutting the designed QB runs in half. Josh had 2nd highest rushing attempts for QB behind Hurts. That can’t continue to happen. We are playing with fire and Beane knows it. I’m fine with more designed QB runs in playoffs, but we are taking years off his career if this continues. Our non-QB designed run game needs to improve going on 4 years now. A good blocking Tight End (Gronk) and a better RB1 and a commitment from the OC would go a long way.
  4. True, but I can’t see McBeane spending more on their 2 starting LB’s than their entire D Line. The D-Line was arguably the worst unit on the team by the end of the year. And they can’t keep using all their high picks on DL every year. Money has to be spent on the DL to make it better. And now Buffalo is a ring chasing destination.
  5. That’s almost $40m in cap off the books with Butler, Star, Addison, Hughes gone. I think McBeane takes a rare swing for the fences this off-season and brings in a Chandler Jones or Von Miller plus a vet DT like Calais Campbell or Suh. We have 4 high draft picks on the DL who are cost contained for the next 2 years. Everything is lined up to go big the next 1-2 years on the D Line in free agency before you gotta pay Oliver or one of our young Defensive Ends steps up their game and gets paid. Looking at your off-season primers for the defense, based on the cap numbers and age everything screams DL in free agency and a high draft pick in the secondary and possibly a high draft pick at LB
  6. Gronk’s cap hit was $3m last year. Suh’s was $3.2m. That’s basically a post June 1 Star release. I think people are being blinded by how the season ended. Running it back doesn’t mean we’re gonna hold on to a lead in last 13 seconds at KC and then go on to win the Super Bowl. We lose the game at Foxboro and we very easily could’ve missed the playoffs altogether. We need to get better. 1 year deals with ring chasing vets aren’t gonna put you in cap hell. And it won’t even cost you draft picks. We need a couple vets on both sides of ball who are ring focused to get us over the finish line.
  7. Agreed. We are young enough on the DL with Oliver, Groot, Basham, Epenesa still all on their rookie deals. Campbell on a 1 year deal is a no brainer. Then, I’d go after Von Miller. A line of Groot, Oliver, Campbell and Miller with the young guys as backups is Super Bowl quality. And you won’t have to commit long term money to Campbell or Miller. They will actually help the young guys develop.
  8. It’s time for Bills to grab some Super Bowl or bust vets to put us over the top. Campbell, Miller, Suh, Gronk, Fournette, Patterson. These guys will not cost draft picks and you will not have to commit long term contracts to them. Beane could easily sign 3-4 of the above by pushing some of their cap hit to year 2 and letting go from a pool of Star, Feliciano, Beasley or Edmunds.
  9. No. This might’ve been the best NFL season i can remember.
  10. Yep. Groot, Oliver, Calais Campbell, and Chandler Jones. With Basham, Epenesa, Zimmer, and 4th round 1 Tech as backups.
  11. Stop paying JAG’s. Josh, Diggs, Dawkins on offense. Poyer, Hyde, and White on D. Every other player not on their rookie deal is probably making too much and replaceable. Not saying you get rid of everyone else, but an elite edge rusher is a must.
  12. Another weapon for Josh, an upper echelon edge rusher, more speed in secondary
  13. Bills might’ve had the least threatening edge rushers in the league. Certainly in the playoffs.
  14. Their defensive line is way better than ours. Hubbard and hendrickson are good. Reader the run stuffer we wish Star was. And Logan Wilson is better than our MLB. And they seem to have more speed in their secondary.
  15. Donald gonna retire if they win today? McVay saying same thing. Gotta believe this is some kind of jedi motivation tactic.
  16. I’m not giving up a 1st for a guy who’s played 7 games the last 2 years due to injuries. Diggs was a couple years younger and had no injury history.
  17. It’s more the eye test than anything for me. Oliver was our only D-Linemen who looked like he could chase down Mahomes. Even if our other D-Linemen technically got a pressure on Mahomes, Mahomes easily juked them and never looked uncomfortable. i guess that’s what it comes down to for me. Can our defense make a Mahomes uncomfortable when it counts? We might have a better D on paper than Cincy, but they had multiple guys upfront who could chase Mahomes down and make him uncomfortable. And Apple was able to run with Hill and make a couple plays.
  18. Dodson still only 23. Might still be some upside there.
  19. There are at least 20 teams who’d be more than happy to give Murray a long term deal at $35+m per year. The baseball thing is stupid and not even worth talking about. The more relevant thing to talk about is how Lamar Jackson representing himself is hurting multiple QB’s. I bet Mayfield would’ve got a long term deal last offseason if Jackson did. I think Murray is in same boat this off-season. There’s an order to these things and teams typically wait to see what the bigger fish signs for.
  20. Gronk knows exactly what he’s doing. KC already has Kelce and Green Bay is at the mercy of Rodgers’ whims. Buffalo and Cincy make the most sense for a guy looking for 1 more ring.
  21. McBeane know more than all of us why Star missed the games he did. This is one of those situations where you gotta trust the guys in charge. His contract is a bit of an albatross, but he’s still useful when available. Doubt you can replace him for $1.5m you’d save cutting him or even $4m if he was a post June 1 cut.
  22. Interesting that Martindale is about the polar opposite to Frazier/McDermott when it comes to blitzing and being aggressive.
  23. Because he probably won’t be that expensive and upgrades 3 positions (returner, gadget WR, and RB)
  24. Oakland signed him for $5m in 2018. Based on the fact that he’s almost 4 years older and hasn’t played baseball since 2018, that number would be lower now. Maybe that gets offset by a Tebow effect now that he’s well known, but it’s not like the Mets made much money off people paying $20 to see Tebow in spring training or the minors. From a numbers standpoint it’s stupid to even talk about. He’d have to turn into a Mike Trout level player to approach what he’s almost guaranteed to make as a top NFL QB. And even then, Trout was a superstar by age 22. Murray wouldn’t even reach the Majors before he’s 27-28. The baseball ship has sailed.
  25. So Murray is gonna turn down $30m per year playing football to play baseball when he hasn’t played competitive baseball in 3 years? Baseball ain’t the type of sport you can just go back to unless you’re a pitcher that throws 100mph. It would take him 2-3 years minimum in the minors to get his swing back. Even then, there’s no guarantees he could even hit Big League pitchers.
