Nick Bosa Trade Rumor (Unnamed AFC Team)
BuffaloRebound replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every team would be in on Bosa. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was the Chiefs. Especially if Jones is gonna sit out. -
Benford - Was he being showcased? (Opinion, not a rumor)
BuffaloRebound replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott loves Benford. No way he gets traded. Elam is only CB I could see being dealt and chance of that is remote. -
Elam now CB4 and playing kickoff coverage in the preseason
BuffaloRebound replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t necessarily blame him for that. Focusing on process and demanding professionalism has served him and the organization well. But you gotta be able to coach the talented guys up too and to me that’s what’s holding us back from taking next step. -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3

Yes. I think the roster is improved and has closed gap with Cincy and KC. Kincaid, Sherfield, Harty, the RB’s, the Guards are all better than what we had last year. On defense, our secondary is improved and our D Line is top 5 with Miller. The only downgrade on the roster is Middle Linebacker and against the better QB’s Edmunds got picked apart anyway. -
Surprisingly, Houston only has $7m in cap space. Can’t see them cutting Keenum when they guaranteed his 2023 salary and $1m of his 2024 salary and paid him a $750k bonus. Worth it just to have him on roster to mentor Stroud instead of eating $4m.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3

I liked what I saw from Dodson in the 1st half yesterday. He’s doesn’t have Edmunds length and range, but he seems more instinctive and showed an edge. I was extremely impressed by Benford. Good coverage and sure tackler. Can’t stand Epenesa’s game. For a guy who rushes wide every play and gives up huge rushing lanes, he doesn’t get home nearly enough. Really like Sherfield. Davis and Knox aren’t sure handed enough. Can see Josh trusting Sherfield and Kincaid more than Davis and Knox. Harty is an upgrade over McKenzie. The O-Line/run game looks improved. I think we have a Super Bowl caliber roster. Think it will come down to health and more importantly coaching. Can McDermott get over the hump? -

Can easily see Sherfield taking more and more of Gabe’s reps. Not sure what Davis dies so much better than Sherfield that overcomes Gabe’s drive-killing drops. -

It’s a coaching failure if a guy who was probably your best DB at the end of year as a rookie is CB4 coming out of preseason. I guess we need to watch Dane get cooked by Rodgers and every other decent QB when the games actually mean something before McDermott is forced to turn back to Elam. McDermott loves those lunch pail guys, but they ain’t getting you over the hump. Gotta be able to coach up the talented guys. -
My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports
BuffaloRebound replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like there’s still a glaring hole at WR. Rest of roster except maybe OT is deep, talented, and championship caliber. Keeping my eye on Mike Evans. Tampa is going nowhere and he’s on last year of his deal. Could see him being dealt to a contender. Think he’s got an elite year or 2 left in him. -
C’mon. He’s an idiot for even getting on a jet ski during his playing years and is lucky he doesn’t play for an organization like the Bengals, who wouldn’t hesitate to go after his guaranteed money.
-
You can’t compare a guy who makes $3m a year playing football who injured himself a week before training camp riding a jet ski to a minimum wage worker who has cancer. It’s probably not worth the bad press pursuing his $3m guaranteed, but if I’m the Bills I’m extremely disappointed in Hines.
-
Agreed. Lawyers and insurance companies know what activities to prohibit in these contracts. Riding a jet ski might be a normal activity on vacation for the average joe but not for a football player whose playing career is on average 3-4 years. I also find it interesting the report was that he was ‘stationary’ on the jet ski. Clearly put out by his agent since ‘riding a jet ski’ is probably clearly prohibited by his contract.
-
Pretty sure most NFL contracts have clauses that negate guarantees if you engage in risky activities. I’d be surprised if jet ski isn’t one of those activities.

That $10.7m cap hit this year was a bit of an albatross for Beane. The extension allows him to finagle Oliver’s cap numbers going forward. We are lucky to have owners willing to spend the money to give Beane the flexibility to build a championship roster.

4 team divisions is bad enough. The 17th game means teams don’t even have same amount of home games anymore. Add in all the non-sunday games creating rest imbalances and NFL has by far the least equitable scheduling. Not even close. That’s why the 1 seed getting a bye is so dumb. 8 teams per conference should make playoffs.
-
good. Would rather be the hunter. The hype machine was outta control last year.

Are the Bills committed to Ed Oliver in 2023?
BuffaloRebound replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let’s hope he has a breakout year, but he’s definitely been underwhelming especially when you look at the top 20 picks that year. That was a pretty stacked draft. In hindsight there’s no way he should’ve went that high at that size without huge production. -
1,076 Yards, TE Rookie Record = 1961
BuffaloRebound replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s possible because he has better hands than Gabe and Knox. Especially if Josh develops trust in him early in the season. But if he did break that record, there’d probably be controversy over whether Kincaid is really a tight end. -
Definitely a theme this off-season. Our slot Receiver is going from 5’9” 180lbs to 6’4” 240lbs. Our RB additions are 20 and 30lbs bigger than Singletary. Torrence is bigger than whoever he’s gonna replace. Poona is a stout physical guy. Rapp is big and physical for a safety. Hopefully the days of being a soft non-physical team except for our QB are in the past.
