  1. I’m skeptical of Skeptical, but he could be right. Or wrong. I guess I’m skeptical and ambivalent at the same time.
  2. The countries adjacent to Ukraine have to be dreading another Dem administration. Israel as well. Bad sh:t just coincidentally happens when the Dems are up.
  3. You probably did. Lots of people develop instantaneous Debate Parkinson’s. Scientists think it comes from toilet seats, or perhaps pre-debate candy snacking on green Skittles.
  4. Yes, thanks for the opportunity to clarify. Non-hostile, friendly interviews with talking heads who share the agenda of the guest would typically not be contentious or hostile. Harris sitting down with BB would likely not fall into that category. Yet, she seemed ill-prepared to answer basic questions about her administration’s struggles.
  5. Trump has done two debates with the Democrat candidates. The first was with the Original Chosen, who turned out to be a confused and befuddled old man although you were assured (and convinced) he was fine n feisty. When the democrats told base they were blindsided by Joe’s decline, that they made a mistake and pulled the old swictheroo, he debated the next candidate. If they pull the old switcheroo again, he’d have to weigh that out as well. As it stands, I think the analysis by the Trump team is he gains nothing from a third debate (the second for Harris for those keeping track), and potentially loses if things go sideways. Smart play imo.
  6. But that’s always the case. The interviewer sets the tone, interrupts and fact checks (sometimes fairly, sometimes not) with a behind-the-scenes team offering the assist. If it’s a contentious interview it goes that way. If it’s a friendly interview it goes the other. To me, she seemed unprepared for simple softball questions about her performance over the past 4 years, questions that should/would come up every time in an honest discussion. Add to that, it appears she was unprofessional, unable to meet the time obligation and her team of handlers were quite disruptive and unprofessional as well.
  7. I’m focused, calm and in search of understanding. Your challenge is you follow a script that is chaotic and inconsistent. It’s ok, I’m just here to observe and opine.
  8. You should take that up with Gampy Frank, it was his characterization. Though..what does the network have to do with her performance?
  9. I couldn’t do desperate if I tried. What will be, will be. I just thought after you were fussin like a toddler about traditions, fear and your beloved 60 Minutes you might stumble into some form of consistency. But, on the bright side, you’re amazingly consistent on your inconsistency.
  10. Why is she afraid to do what amounts to an open mic night and free rein to say whatever? You’re the staunch traditionalist with a thing for Leslie Stahl, yet here, you’re suddenly not? This is your Tibaylor Swift Hypocrisy era.
  11. This sounds like what a grandpa might say to his granddaughter after a 11-0 drubbing to a much better field hockey team in middle school. “You gals were feisty, and did fine!”. I do agree though that there really was nothing she could do or say to change the mind(s) of her base. Politics is like that.
  12. Did you catch the news about Harris dodging the Alfred Smith dinner? First democrat candidate to skip in 60 years. What is she afraid of??!
  13. tion-of-lebanon-ceasefire-plan-shatters-ties-with-biden-tv-report/amp/ Yikes--sounds like Team Biden really missed the mark on this, stating the Israelis were in agreement when they pretty obviously were not. Did they lie, do you think, or make a statement in an attempt to create outrage and to force Israel to capitulate? Or, did Netanyahu set them up, attempting to embarrass the Harris/Biden admin? I think it seems clear they probably would prefer a Trump presidency given the treatment received from the current Washington crowd. Seems to me the most reasonable resolution would be for Hamas and the Palestinians to agree to release all hostages, living or dead, and turn over any people responsible for murder, torture or barbaric treatment while in their custody. Once safely returned, Hamas stands down, then the Israeli's follow suit. Sensible, yes?
  14. Looks like peace is near. You obviously support an immediate return of the hostages, and an end to hostilities? Netanyahu, too. https://nypost.com/2024/10/17/world-news/israeli-drone-captures-yahya-sinwars-last-moments-alive/ “To the people of Gaza, I have a simple message,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. “This war can end tomorrow. “It can end if Hamas lays down its arms and returns our hostages. Israel will guarantee the safety of all those who return our hostages,” Netanyahu added.
  15. What do you mean by 'done'?
  16. Can you imagine what life must have been like for Sinwar the last year or so? He was no doubt counting on support from Harris/Biden after the savagery of 10/7, assuming they would look the other way during a measured response then seek to curtail any additional Israeli action once the hubbub died down. Soon though, it became apparent he was in a new game. Couldn’t hit the local TMobile because his soldiers were getting their d#cks 💥. Couldn’t pop out of try tunnel to get a new cordless drill from the Harbor Freight because of the threat from the ground. Had to be careful where he stayed as the Israelis were likely to have placed explosive devices at the Residence Inn-Gaza waiting for the next light time to 💥. Couldn’t go out for some delicious French fries and a burger at Johnny Rockets because he had to literally worry about Johnny’s Rockets. 💥
  17. In fairness some of these geezers are only “middle aged” if they live to 135+. I don’t count because I’m emotionally young. Interesting modern take on boot licking though, very 2020s.
  18. “Your hope for me is indeed the hope I hold out for you, friend.” -Me, circa today
  19. It’s truly Tiberian to mention China 2x in a story about a presidential elections after the ascension of China Joe B and his family business to status of King. As they say in Hong Kong, “You crazy man!”.
  20. Ten, not trying to be argumentative but that doesn’t matter. JB was laughed out of his first couple attempts at presidential runs by the parents/grandparents of the generation of dem voters who felt Joe was the man to save the country. They bounced him because while JB had a tough guy charisma, he made declarations that were easily disproven, and blustered while doing so. He wasn’t a serious candidate and the blue collar voter of old knew that. That didn’t change, the voter changed. The days of hard-working blue collar democrats looking for good schools, common sense laws to protect citizens, and protection of American jobs has been replaced with a generation of voters who think they got screwed by….someone…when they made their choice to receive an education. I think the Dems of old would have said “Wait, you drove past 5 community colleges, three SUNY schools, 4 reasonably priced private colleges on your way to paying for a $250/hour college to get a $35/hour job, and someone else was responsible?”. I will say that if you can convince someone that they are the victims of their own decisions, you can convince them that a previously unelectable candidate is The One to save democracy. See Biden, Joe.
  21. This is accurate imo. There are clips of Biden uttering gibberish pre-2020, explanations that he was just stuttering, and he was immensely popular with democrats. Harris was so unlikable/unelectable she was a nonfactor in the race. 4 years later, had Biden stayed in the race after coming apart at the seams in the debate, his supporters would be following the same script. Nothing mattered to them—his relationship with China, lies about being involved with his sons family business, partnering with the intelligence community on the laptop, pilfering/holding/sharing classified documents over a couple decades, and everything else. When directed to like/approve of the previously unelectable KH, they complied. That’s not going to change regardless of the obvious disconnect between what she says the country needs v what she actually delivered as a critical part of the current admin. BB did the heavy lifting of an interviewer and she didn’t handle it well. You can see the reaction from her supporters here, in the memes shared, targeting BB v KH reaction. If the GOP can present Harris as dangerous to the well-being to the typical independent voter, Trump wins. If they can’t, Harris wins. There seems to be a strong feeling nationally that many Americans think Trump is better suited to run the economy, so that’s the point they should be hammering home.
  22. Why is this important? This stuff happens all the time, and he’s a Kennedy for Pete’s sake. I think there’s something in the family credo that mandates this sort of action, and I think keeping it all virtual is probably a net gain for the environment?
  23. Roundy’s manifesto for government excellence is pro-food m-f 8am-2:20pm, save vacation days, days of religious observance, carve outs for teacher meetings/district events, snow days and those days that would have been snow days had it snowed on certain days when it didn’t snow. It’s sort of a long campaign slogan but you’ll get some votes.
  24. Why not just give every child cash and cut the middleman out entirely? That’s got to be way easier and cheaper still.
