  1. We need to cut out the middleman here, 4thy. Someone needs to have a heart to heart with Denny about the history of “Dixie”. Then again, when someone tells you who they are, probably should believe ‘em.
  2. Later this morning, at Frank’s house…. ::ding *****:: ”Who’s is it?” ”trick or treat” “Halloween is over!” ”Candy gram” ”I’m all out of candy! Go away” “UNICEF…” ”Well, that’s different!!!” For the love of God Frank…deception is afoot—-don’t open the door!!
  3. A decision was made that violated rules and guidelines designed to avoid erosion of trust in institutions and the obvious appearance of impropriety. A complaint ensued, impropriety acknowledged and a resolution decided upon. At a time when trust in once favored institutions is flatlining, perhaps instead of blaming the arbiter of fairness and/or the victim of deception, you simply acknowledge that the rule is well-established and compliance amazingly simple.
  4. Australia’s Izzy Mandelbaum has spoken. No, obviously is the smart money says go with those freedom loving fundamentalists from over Middle East way.
  5. A friend’s daughter got caught up on a local school roof quite a few years ago with a group of other kids. No vandalism, no silliness beyond getting caught. The matter was addressed by having her appear in town court, assignment to do some community service work, soup kitchen downtown for 3 or 4 weekends. In addition, the dept of social services/police stopped by the parent’s house on a couple of occasions to check things out—walked around, checking for guns and whatever else they check for. Consequences are fine, overreach is not. Thankfully, I was never pinched for doing the same thing to retrieve tennis/baseballs after practice with the kids.
  6. Other than the multiple assassination attempts and things like the current president threatening to kick some ass, the current gov of NY suggesting you’re unAmerican if you don’t fall in line, and scores of other incidents, obviously the only thing liberals have ever done is that one stray beheading video back in the 1970s. Btw on the governor of NY…she replaced Andrew Cuomo. Sexual harasser to the point he got bounced out of office….cooker of COVID death books…placed critically ill patients in nursing homes….do you think she was completely unaware and blindsided by all that? Do you feel as AC’s closest confidant, she should be allowed a free pass?
  7. Raccoons generally operate under the cover of darkness and cloak of secrecy, and even politically connected raccoons shy away from social media. Admittedly, I’m uncertain about squirrels.
  8. I’m not a doctor but understand the process with respect to rabies. That really doesn’t change my initial thought on Mike’s post. This doesn’t help, either. I understand this may be blown out of proportion, or the squirrel was way vicious, or the raccoon guilty of sneaking around at night knocking over garbage cans. Still…: https://nypost.com/2024/11/02/us-news/caretaker-of-peanut-the-squirrelreeling-over-five-hour-raid-of-his-house/
  9. Mike, I’m betting you don’t know everyone in the county, and it’s in poor form to attempt to speak for everyone. I guess on some level, the statement “…the squirrel was killed because it bit the DEC guy when he paid a visit…” should make this all sound really legit, but to me, it sounds kinda weird. On the other hand, I can see a Geo Clooney blockbuster in the making.
  10. Thank you, Kay, for uh, clarifying there is no room for exemptions in your quest, that you are 100% resolute, absent relevant addendums and omissions per standard legal guidelines to be considered beyond the afore-mentioned gift exemption: 24. My best friend wants to ruin the planet, too, but is low on cash; 25. The store was closed when I went to unpollute. Ironically, it was Earth Day; 26. My grandma/grandpa/great auuuuhnt gifted it to me; 27. I was young once, but even after I wasn’t, I liked it so I kept it; 28. I can articulate my perspective on climate change, Zionism, the mean temperature of Uranus, and water filtration systems manufactured from sand, an eco-friendly brassiere from Victoria Secret and cactus fibers but someone mislead me on something called “Juicy Couture”; 29. I really like it; I reimagined Ovid’s Medusa, Kay, don’t be trying to hone in on it like you’re Kathy Bates in the new Matlock. Let the fella have this one. If you insist, feel free to play around with something else…Icarus, perhaps, or Pandora’s Box. I reject the notion of misogyny, Kay, that’s a true story and they were Housewives. I didn’t catch which city, so I used creative license while blotting the blood streaming from my ears. The remainder of my story is gender neutral. I didn’t really consider the party or venue, Kay. Though, if I had, I’d have gone with Halloween party for faculty, staff and TAs at a JuCo north of Omaha. You’re the adjunct, no doubt lovely and smart, but perhaps a bit top-heavy on serous dialogue considering you’re surrounded by a sexy nun, one ketchup guy, his mustard girlfriend and the short boomer Latin Studies professor dressed up as Frankenstein. Watch him, btw, Kay, his life is 73% over and he’s thinking about Sistrurus Miliarius of another stripe entirely. I read quickly, but I do love a good read. Hope your party was Μεγάλη διασκέδαση.
  11. Thank you, B, I really appreciate that but I have to say I’ve poked a few bears and pushed a few buttons along the way, perhaps on purpose occasionally.. I was just busting Tibsy’s chops, but sure, politically speaking what I said, I believe. On the other hand, I recall him saying he was an Air Force veteran, and to that I say props and due respect to him. As for 11/6…what will be will be. 11/7, onward. Oh my goodness, you don’t even know how to include the whole quote in your reply, Tibsy? At least delete the comma so passers by don’t wonder what else I wrote. This just appears sorta Harris/Biden plagarizey, and makes you look like a numbskull.
  12. I may well be an idiot, but it would take me years of work, study, suffering and prayer to move you up from dolt to idiot. I’m not a young man anymore Tibs, you’re dumb as a stump and I just don’t have it in me.
  13. I’m filled with love and appreciation for you, Tibsy, but honesty between people who disagree is paramount. Posing with a prop depicting the severed, bloody head of a friend, neighbor, soccer coach, mayor, senator or president is never ok, and that you applaud it shows you have issues that you can work on.
  14. No, it echoed the sentiments of a vast majority of Americans. If you’re a genteel soul and self-described Cheney Democrat I can see how it might bother you, but you’ll get over it.
  15. Of course. Tibsy’s gal Kathy Griffin posing with the severed head of a political undesirable, to rave reviews by her supporters, is an obvious example.
  16. Calls for violence against adversaries are never cool, Tibs. Be better.
  17. contrived /kən-trīvd′/ adjective Obviously planned or calculated; not spontaneous or natural; labored. "a novel with a contrived ending." Unnatural, forced. Showing effects of planning or manipulation. Most definitely not the one in your country, Monsieur, but thank you for inquiring.
  18. Jesus, you fold like a cheap suit when a patient questions your advice? Are you a doctor of horsecockery?
  19. Actually, that would be horrible advice given your diagnosis, devoid of reason and indicates quite a bit confusion on your part.
  20. Ah, the old power of “his words” argument. No one else…Clinton referring to tens of millions as deplorable and beyond redemption…Biden suggesting Republicans were going to put people in chains….Bush fabricating evidence to trick the nation into going to war leading to a million+ deaths….Harris sh*t talking vaccine development during a national crisis…ah, why bother. You seem to live in an alternate universe where regardless of what others may say, the insults and divisive language…you seem to only pick up on one side o it. You’re a poli-speak Rip Van Winkle. And Christie is sorta porky, and it wasn’t all that long ago all the beautiful liberal voters had pictures of him on a lawn chair circulating and laughing like Donald Trump. Anyway—sure, you’re walking in the shadow in the Lord when you declare someone has called for murdering citizens and then adjust slightly to….them not calling for murder at all a few hours later. That’s not “overly excited”, that’s hysterical hand wringing.
  21. In the span of a few hours, Andy, you went from “Trump wants to murder Americans” to a much less batsh8t crazy analysis because some random guy with the screen name of a 70s southern rock band asked you for clarity. That’s nuts. Of course he was following the war monger angle—-he actually said it— if you think that’s a problem I can appreciate and debate that all day. Yet, on the assassination, your analysis is much more measured in spite of a stunning, almost comical strong of events leading to a guy dying horrifically, another being injured and a Kennedy-style head explosion by sheer dumb luck. If Tom Clancy used what happened in book he would have been laughed out of existence. What an interesting perspective you have. With respect to pregnancy, the conventional wisdom shared by your people is that men can become pregnant and of course all that follows. I’m not sure why you’re hung up in the 1940s. Be that as it may, you’re a proponent of a woman’s right to choose until birth? The way I see it, a person’s right to vote is an important right of a citizen, and you wanting to eliminate the vote for certain people is also a thought out of the 1940s.
  22. You seem to be a huge fan of hers, carrying her water when as a senator, she had a tremendous platform to speak truth to power about an issue that seems otherwise important to you. As for holding her accountable for her father’s actions, you’re off on a tangent like you’re a host of The View. Trump said she’s a war hawk, and wondered whether or not she would be if she had to face combat. You went weird with that, of course, but if that’s your thing, that’s your thing. All I can tell you is the thoughts that Trump shared—how might she look at things if she was on the front line—and that’s an eternal question that’s been asked and debated for as long as there has been war.
  23. She was, and is, a strong proponent of her father. She has had many years to disavow her father's actions, to reveal her belief that the American public was duped. She had tremendous power to reach the masses as a US Senator, her word certainly would have mattered. How did that go? But seriously, still....'suto'?
  24. Liz Cheney was a strong proponent and supporter of her father in invading Iraq. You probably forgot. The rest of your post is weird....and seriously....'suto'?
  25. I think @L Ron Burgundy is 100% committed to telling you exactly how much he doesn’t care about what you have to say, regardless of how much time and energy it takes. You really have to applaud his commitment and dedication to the noble pursuit of apathy.
