  1. Ooops, now it’s “politics”, not the current decision makers and pre-emptive-pardon-people. On the bright side, laughter is joy, and joy laughter!
  2. Amazing—during your time as a moderator he likely was one of the most difficult posters to keep in check. Now, we just wonder if he’s ok. Prayers up. And for Kemp, too, now that once closing doors appear to be quite open.
  3. Experience tells us you would be gearing up in your Putin Speedo and matching tank top if Moscow offered beaches sanitized of the locals and a nice opportunity to talk to “journalists” and “artists” made available to the average American liberal.
  4. Glad to see it—the likelihood of any of these (potential) wrongdoers seeing any meaningful punishment (if appropriate) is next to zero. It is a continuation of the bastardization of the rule of law and an acknowledgement of how the right people are above the law pretty consistently (see Joe B, classified document retention over a decade plus and the kindly elderly gentlemen exclusion among others). At the same time, perhaps it makes sense to explore constitutionality of preemptive pardons and the continued deep dive into wrongdoing. We’re only 2 years out from a potential change in political cycle and 4 years from a potential change in those in charge of executive branch. Trump will surely want to issue preemptive pardons to those in his circle should that come to pass.
  5. I just assumed that BillSy was busy with the move. You gotta box up the stuff, maybe run a garage sale over a couple weekends, rent the U-Haul, deal with traffic and let’s assume he tried to drive to Europe—he coulda lost a week or two just trying to find a bridge. I’m sure when he gets settled, he’ll write?
  6. She’s a very weak interviewer, Rubio called her on it and she wanted nothing to do with it. Did her research truly show that the numbers was $11,000,000 people? If so, why not call him out on that? Instead, as you say, “let’s move on”.
  7. The Russians brainwash people, obviously.
  8. I believe the most commonly articulated phrase by liberals the last 9 or so years has been “If they did nothing wrong, they have nothing to worry about.” I’d bet your Cuban overlords have used it, too.
  9. That’s beyond the scope of the President effective 1/20/25. It was the last guy’s fault effective 1/21/25. It’s the Russians, millionaires and billionaires too, pretty much always.
  10. The last several years of Biden’ career have been the political equivalent of the last few years of Bruce Willis making movies. Just a time for opportunists, grifters and hangers-on to grab some cash and seize more power as the object of the grift deteriorates.
  11. I’d think there are too many people in power that would be exposed if the lid were to come off this sort of grift to any great degree. I imagine there will some fussing, some declarations of indignation, some rebuttals and this will fade away before the next political cycle.
  12. Hey—ironically, JB said he played 2nd base for the Yankees when Joe D was there—-told Biden that JB was the better hitter—I’m not joking. Joe was king for about an hour After that, his sh*t got sour He took most of what they had No sign of guilt, No feeling bad They really loathe him Trust? They really loathe him La la la la la He blithered and blathered Over four long years They really loathe him
  13. Go with the second option, I'm sure you'll get lots of good stuff in the jar.
  14. Oh geez, the law firm of Frankish, Spankems, & Hard PC is gearing up for the class action lawsuit. Here's my answer as a man of the people: We already know in your example above, one of your tipsy law school buddies said something completely inappropriate to this server, you've been firing down the Johnny Walker Blue at an alarming rate, that you and your good time buddied split a couple of appetizers, that 80% of the 100% is for liquor and now you're trying to carve 20% of the 100% you were previously going to tip. Loosen up. Tip the lady like what she does matters. And lay off the sauce, boyo.

  16. I believe in voting for the candidate that represents the best option for my country and my family, understanding that a give and take is often part of the process. From my perspective, you seem pretty fixated on all the good stuff you (as a wealthy American) can get on the backs of the less fortunate in places like Cuba--cigars, beaches devoid of actual Cubans, and cheap rum at a reasonable price. With respect to Rubio, it was the Biden admin who pointed out how the Cuban government had paused support for international terrorism for a full six months. I can only point out that by default, the Biden admin is acknowledging that 6 mos and a day before that, the government was actively supporting people/groups that most certainly did not have the best interests of Americans in mind. I think that is the very definition of 'posing a threat'. I guess I would acknowledge that having a freebie cheap place to go to a beach is not worth partnering with a government that supports terrorism which most definitely is not in our best interest. From there, of course, it's on brand for the government to harass, censor and exile dissidents, which seems to be of no interest to you as long as the beaches are nice.
  17. Again-- I figured the harassment, censorship and exile, coupled with the support of international terrorism falls into the 'what not to like' category. But I can understand if I was a wealthy liberal, courted to support the existing regime and kept away from the poverty and harsh life of many Cuban people, I might feel the utopian version offered as 'real life' might be appealing.
  18. It's beyond the control of the President!
  19. Good point, though WTH does a squirrel have to do with my post? Don't confuse the confused!
  20. Fergie prefers Cuba and all that comes with it. They run the nicest HCE (Harassment, Censorship and Exile) program in the hemisphere, and haven't supported international terrorism since the late summer.
  21. I’ve been of the mind that California treats the insurance rate market as a political issue, artificially suppressing rates. This analysis by Bankrate reveals Cali runs about $800 below the national average. While it would be foolish to use the wildfires as evidence the average is too low, too high or just right, it seems pretty obvious when insurance cos are leaving the market (and were doing so before the fires), there are not scores of companies vying for the business and the government is mandating that companies remain in the market on a compulsory basis that there is something very wrong with the system. Cali $1400 Colorado $3000 Florida $5400 Louisiana $4000 https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/states/#home-insurance-rates-by-state
  22. I couldn’t tell you if Austin is a good man or not based on the standards you’re attempting to apply. I learned that a long time ago, and always feel it’s best not to hitch my credibility to someone else’s ethical wagon. It is a bit odd that you would last out at me for simply pointing out the obvious. I haven’t disappeared for days at a time, Tibs, and can tell you it’s really not a difficult standard to live by. Pick up the phone, Lloyd. Fire out a quick email, Lloyd. Send a text, Lloyd. Tell one of your dozen or so special assistants, Lloyd. Carrier pigeon, smoke signals….Morse code! He’s gotta know Morse code Tibsy!
  23. This back and forth is silly, and I certainly don’t want to trash talk Lloyd Austin. Still, his decision to forgo advising his superiors of his absence is indicative of very poor judgement. His indifference at putting civilians at risk is also indicative of very poor judgment.
