IF Allen Tried to Force His Way Out of Buffalo...
SectionC3 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think their personalities (McD is unapproachable, extremely disciplined, and a little cold, whereas Allen is a delightful but kind of reckless overgrown child) compliment each other well. They probably need each other more than they realize. -
McD and Daboll hate each other probably 🤣

Remember the article (I think by Ty Dunne) in which a former assistant is quoted as saying “I’d rather tell him to his face” in response to a question about what it was like working for McDermott. I’ve assumed it was Daboll, and the “handshake” doesn’t disabuse that notion. -

I suspect that it’s this. And maybe the fact that Daboll bailed from work early one day during the week of 13 seconds. And I suspect that McD thinks Daboll was the source of the Ben Volin (sp) article about friction in the Bills’ locker room (as do I). If the last point is true, it’s unforgivable from McD’s perspective. I think they made each other. Allen pulling an “Allen” frequently made Daboll look better than the scheme. But he could only pull the “Allen” bc Daboll helped him get there. -

I don't know about you, but I heard that the flight home from 13 seconds was bonkers. Guys screaming, crying, punching seats out. I suspect that Hughes was one of the emotional ones after that mess, but I didn't get confirmation of that point. I also observed, personally but from a little bit of a distance, that Daboll seemed to be not his jovial self during 2021. Normally he's an extremely nice, personable, outgoing guy. He just seemed unhappy during the latter half of 2021. -
The biggest blunder of the game IMO

I think the calculus on our side considered the additional point together with the field goal that we later missed. -

We’ve seen enough of Tyrod to know that all too well. -

The field likely was a little slick by that point, too. (There was a mist that might both have been perceptible on TV.). I would have punted, too. -
Best lot for heading toward Hamburg post game?
SectionC3 replied to Bills fan since 87's topic in The Stadium Wall
As I think about it, the bar (Wings) isn't a bad idea. Make the left out of the bar onto California, left onto Southwestern at the light, and you're in business. That might actually be a little easier than you think. -

Sheldon Road. Right across from the elementary school. (But not at the school.). Head west on Sheldon, left onto Brompton (may be a little tricky), and then right onto Southwestern and you're on your way. Or, try east on Sheldon, right onto Abbott, and easy right to Southwestern. -
Is Tyrod Taylor the Giants QB Sunday night ?
SectionC3 replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m going to guess a heavy dose of read option and gadgetry is headed our way on Sunday. -
Prepare to be stunned. They all know they have to get rid of him. No time like the present. They can beat Biden with someone else, and Trump’s hezbollah nonsense (taken out of context, to be fair) might give them cover.
-
No, it’s a chat about the firing of these people and Doc made the point that they didn’t realize that they are replaceable (hence the terminations). He’s right; everyone is replaceable. They gnawed on the forbidden fruit, and Terry is going to find a new Adam and Eve. That’s how it goes. Hopefully this time Terry finds people who aren’t into diddling subordinates/each other.
-
He’s cooked. It’s just a question of who brings the proceeding and where and when it happens. The bet here is that the Republicans avoid doing the wet work on this guy in the hopes that the voters do it for them early next year. If not, they’ll make the move on him because they know he can’t win the general and that a different candidate will have a good shot of taking that election.
-
Eff that. Let Trump go down. We have this decay of character in this country that he’s a big part of. He can go. And he can take (the still-innocent but guilty in the court of public opinion) Bob Menendez with him. If you’re not there to serve the people, rather than yourself, then it’s time to GTFO. Enough is enough. I’ll grant the cleverness. The context in which the amendment was prepared counts. It dealt with people who attempted to subvert the constitution. Gymnastics of diction, clever as kind of impressive as they may be, aren’t going to work here -

Sure it is. They apparently flouted the rules and their skills were such that the Bills made the judgment call to terminate. If this was Josh does he hit the street and look for work? Absolutely not. Employees who are more easily replaceable shouldn’t give the boss a reason to move on. They did, and it was lights out for their careers with the Bills. Frankly, any GC dumb enough to do what she allegedly did is not someone I’d want around, anyway. Can’t have a GC with poor judgment.
-
Yup. And when somebody walks into Fidelity with a few hundred million or a few billion dollars to put to work, I highly, HIGHLY doubt that anyone but the all-star touches the account. This guy probably has made Terry a LOT of money over the years. I thought the same thing, short of the resume point. How the eff hard is it to find people who will grind, follow the rules, and protect the bottom line? It’s one bonehead after another over there. I don’t get it. The really troubling thing is that the people who are supposed to set the standard, and to say “no,” are the ones causing the problems.

I’m thinking of it more from a cultural perspective. My sense here is that there isn’t a great deal of concern about the optics of two employees dating. There is, however, a great deal of touchiness about the power dynamic and the power imbalance. Maybe one could characterize that as an optical thing, I suppose. No matter, over here, at least in the circles in which I travel, intraoffice relationships are a large and shining “no-no” because of the risk involved to employee, employer, and bottom line.
-
Not in the least. I have no idea from where you have conjured the judgmental point. The “me too” movement originated here, and there’s significant sensitivity—maybe oversensitivity, depending on one’s perspective—to a workplace superior engaging in an an intimate relationship with a subordinate. Maybe it would have worked, or been ignored, or been accepted years ago. But the culture at a lot of larger businesses now is one of zero tolerance for such things.
-
We have perhaps a more difficult dynamic with such things here than in GB. That aside, I’m going to take a whack at it and guess that, following the Russ Brandon mess, what the two people in question here allegedly were doing is contrary to company policy. Assuming it is, if the COO and the GC don’t follow the rules, then it’s pretty difficult to expect others to follow the same standards. They had to go. Everyone is replaceable. Some people are easier to replace than others. Finding someone with the former GC’s level of experience is going to be a snap. Easy pickings. Can be done within the hour. If she didn’t realize that, then shame on her.
-
Right on with this. A former low-level ADA who lucked into being GC about of an NFL team about 10 years after graduation can't be shagging the boss when she's responsible for such things as, you know, sexual harassment issues at their place of employment. How stupid they both were.
-
Especially after they just went through that scenario in the past few years. And especially after the problems in the Sabres organization with a similar issue.
-
I don’t disagree with any of that, except for maybe Morse. I’d like to keep both AJE and Rousseau. Not sure if there’s sufficient cap room for all of those guys at that position. (Cutting White might be a hard thing, too, based on his standing in the locker room and his injury misfortune.).

Settle is a totally unimpressive physical specimen. Phillips is a 3T. No anchor.
