I'll add to this. I see Trump as a reaction to the failings of both major parties. I know a lot of Trump-supporting vets (which seems absurd to me in view of suckers and losers, but whatever) who I strongly suspect are with him based on the failings of George W. Bush. They went to war in Iraq based on a lie, left blood, sweat, tears, limbs, and friends there, and it was all a waste. So they seized on both Bernie and Trump. Now they're with Trump. Whether they stick with the Republican Party remains to be seen. (I suspect they'd flip back to a Bernie candidate who looks like them pretty easily.) But time will tell.

Ultimately I think it ends with Israeli incursion and limited boots on ground to take care of the mountain nuke site. My guess is that Iran is stalling. Israel has control of the skies. Iran wants to protect what it has, rebuild air defenses, and then restart nuke work. Only now, after this episode, they’re more desperate to finish it.

I didn't read the tweet, but I agree with your comment. MAGA "conservatives" and, how shall I say this, actual conservatives are generally two different things. When they're bundled into one, we get friction points such as this one. Traditional, conservative foreign policy would support Israel here. MAGA "conservatism" is isolationist and would leave this issue to the warring nations.

The context is a little different, but such subtleties are lost on people like you.

A great question. I have no idea what the distinction is. It's both or none, to me. And, last I checked, Ukraine is not starting preemptive wars. (Not that I don't understand the Israeli psychology, but the point remains that Ukraine was attacked, and Israel, now, is attacking.)
