How long after DB is gone will the debate rage on?

As the grand poo-bahh of the Dead Horse Beaters Club, you know my answer. I think IM actually getting sick of it now, when a dead horse beater is sick of beating the dead horse, the end is near. -

You mean "Must Taint Virtue" is now OFF their liberal soapbox and actually just showing us the damn music? It cant be so. Next thing ya know, Pat Buchanon will want to open our borders and let in the illegal aliens. -

Im not so good with matty-matics but I think jp - era = dead horse beaters club means that dead horse beaters club + era = JP Maybe hooked on phonics is more up my alley Id love nothing more than for the speculation to end. Afterall, wasnt it about a month ago when TD said we would find out what was happening with Drew? (rhetorical ?/on) If you havent noticed though I have been trying to get off the QB spot and get on the FA list and draft. Again, maybe too much QB for today, I can drop it. -

I could start a poll or something, but I think I already lead the stupid poll of the year award so why up the ante. Like I said in another post, I am sick with tonsilitis that suck my mothers giant fat a_s, I wouldnt wish this crap on my worst enemy. I have been home almost the entire week and have nothing better to do than watch ESPN, and NFL Network, I probably need to get a life, and hopefully, god willing, my illness will subside and I can get back to one. Sorry if this was going over the top in dumb posts, I hope you can extend some gentlemans quarters for a very sick individual. -
I hope my comment wasnt taken overboard. I love Moulds, I used to love his play more than attitude, now I love his attitude more than play. I root for the guy, I want him here permanently, trust me. I just am wondering if Moulds may be overpaid at this point. Im probably trying to fix something that aint broke. I have been home for 4 days sick with Tonsilitis that I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy, I have nothing better to do than think about the Bills. Yes I should get a life, hopefully soon I can get well and get back to one.

I apologize to you as well. Bad choice of words. Where do you stand on who you want us to get with the seemingly increasing cap cash? I bet its o-lineman, and Im with you brother. Out of the available LT's, who do you want the most? -

Take the attitude out of your reply, number one. The point is only that I dont like seeing the Bills used as other teams highlight reels. It is NOT meant to say that the Bills should can Drew or to try to make my point about liking Losman somehow. Thats YOUR crap injected into my post, not mine. What I meant by the 75% thingy and it "saying" something is that Drew does seem to make other teams D's look pretty damn good. Will another Bills QB do the same? who knows. Im jst getting sick of Drew making other teams look good. Would I like to see our QB scramble away from the likes of Abraham or Taylor or Seymour, yeah I would. Can Losman do it? Who knows. I bet, that although you found my post stupid, someone else out there relates and also gets sick of seeing Bills players used in other teams highlights. Again, tolerance is a virtue man. -
Your reply is a bit too much like an answer rather than an opinion for my taste, thanks. If you were willing to actually open your mind for a second, I think you might find that an arguement can be made for Evans being our best WR. Fastest WR, and has the best hands or all the WR's. I dont have the stats in front of me but I bet his average of catches vs. drops is better than Moulds. Correct me if Im wrong but is this a case where Moulds WAS our best WR and your merely a touch slow in changing your mind?

I agree that he didnt have the "kelly" type of leadership and that all reports say that Losman does. But, he did have a vet's leadership presence that, in some players, kept them in line. I would prefer a much more vocal leader who will grab the players bythe bootstraps sometimes and get in there faces when they are off their game. I feel like it could mean the difference in some of those games where we were on say the 35 yard line and marching and then gave up a holding penalty that killed our drive and put us out of field goal range. Its at those times that a vocal leadr may make a difference. That a guy like, hopefully, Losman will step up and tell the players in every huddle during that march, No holding...no mistakes. I hope that Losman turns out to be the on-the-field-general that we think his attitude may turn him into. Just have to see.

You raise a very very good point and it may be the whole key to what TD and Co. had in mind. If you are seriously considering dumping Drew for your youngster, you will inevitably have a big loss of leadership. How long does it last, who knows. Your also looking at a very large cap hit on a aging Moulds. Then, Moulds comes out and supports whatever decision the Bills take on QB. He did NOT simply give a pat answer that it was Drews team. Next, Moulds offers to restructure. Now, TD and Co, are looking at a guy who is either on the decline or close to it but is still one of the best players on the team. They now have a proven youngster in Evans. So, TD and Co. want to keep leadership and cohesion and agree to restructure Moulds even if he is overpaid. Now, Moulds can teach JP, in gametime situations, where he will be, where to throw the ball, or maybe even come up with a little gadget of their own. Like Drew and Moulds did with the fly pattern where MOulds comes back slightly and the cathces the ball behind the defender. Moulds impact as a leader canbe huge and he did all the right things to prove to the Bills that he is capable and ready for that role which can only help Losman by releaving some of the leadership burden until he is ready for it on his own.

OK, your a bigtime Moulds fan, so am I. I understand why you feel the way you do, and I respect that. I just feel as if the guy with the best speed outof our WR corp is Evans. And that the guy with the best hands is Evans. In a really simple equation (to me) that leads me to think that Evans is our best WR. As far as production goes, it cant be argued, you win there. But did Moulds get those yards because of any of the following: 1) Moulds was Drews favorite target, his number one option, and Drew was hesitant to throw elsewhere. 2) Evans was an unknown through much of the season. If so, I would say that THIS year will be the litmus test on Moulds. Will he still get it done if Drew isnt our starting QB? if he gets less throws? The part your didnt address is a comparison to the other WR's in the league who make as much as he does.

You exagerrate for one. As far as why, this is a fun offseason with potentially a changing of the guard at (in my feable mind) the most important position on the field. If it doesnt happen, fine. But I like change soemtimes, I like new faces, and I love when we get (and keep) a truly great one. I have no idea whether thats JP or not, I can only hope. Im anxious to see though. There are people here, believe or not, who like to talk about the Bills. I happen to be one of them. I like "noodling" a topic to death. Call it a flaw if you will, it probably is. To me its fun. The part I dont get, is that all of us have the ability to simply NOT click on a post, NOT read a post. Why not just use that harmless avenue to filter what you dont want to read? Futhermore, I cant understand why you would come here and just watch. Or why come here and get ticked at the same topic over and over? who cares? why come at all if you know its gonna happen anyways? Who cares man? who cares? Let me have mine, I will let you have yours; be it off-topic, replies only, variety, whatever. For every poster, there is a captive audience. Im in it for the glory at this point. I want to be able to say that I was here and have been here all along when something great happens with this team. I still want the completion of what we set out to do when we went to 4 straight, I want redemption, not revenge. This is a blue collar team in a blue collar city that represents the best of what this country has to offer. I like being the underdog. I believe that we are OHH so very close to something great. Maybe its a one and out, I hope not. Maybe we have our own version of a trifecta in Evans/McGahee/Losman, Ii hope so. Maybe our D will be legendary and will earn themselves a title to go with there SB ring(s). What would it be? what OUR version of the "steel curtain"? Its fun times man, Losman represents a wildcard, could be good, could be bad. We dont know. I hope hes great, but Im anxious to find out. I believe that we have a very good idea of what we have in Drew. Maybe he still takes us to the promise land. For some stupid reason, it would be even better to win one behind our own, homegrown, young QB star. If it doesnt happen, so be it. Im jst anxious to see what the kids got. Fun times man, let us enjoy. -
Yes, agreed, I expected more of a bang for the buck. And I guess Im questioning the player ranking vs. cap hit when compared against the leagues top WR's. Where is Moulds as far as production vs. salary

The beauty of your reply is that not only are you completely wrong in your assumptions about me, but its documented. I love it when people become their own undoing. Nothing better than clowns beating themselves. I am now a fan of starting JP over Drew. Thats true. But you underestimate me and it will drive you crazy when I support Drew if he plays well as our starter next year. To me thats fun, turning your pathetic hatred around on you is fun. I have my version of what is best for the Bills, you have yours. If Drew is our starter so be it. The truth is that you do not have a fraction of a pinky toes worth of the football knowledge held in one Mike Mularkey or Tom Donahoe for that matter. And neither do I. So as much as you and I THINK we know it all, we dont, and have absolutely NO control over what will happen. I am a person who is documented as being someone who comes here and admits that he is wrong when I am. That, my friend, is something im pretty sure your ego would never allow you to do. You see, thats the game (at least in your mind). To make the right guesses on what happens. If your right you will high five your computer screen and give yourself red marks on your upper back, yet you still wont quite feel "complete" will you. The difference between you and me is simple. I dont care if I am right or wrong. I come here to enjoy discussing football, your entire persona, ego, and reputation (at least in your mind) depends on winning the Im right your wrong game. And like I said your obvious distaste in your replies makes your motivation transparent and is the key to your own undoing. When you go down the road of "ego" and "distaste" for others, for every "win" there are twice as many "losses", which further feeds your hatred and eats you up inside. All I need to do is sit back and watch. Enjoy your "know it all" posts, enjoy your slams on me. I will be just fine, dont worry, for your attacks are like feathers in the wind blown against a concrete wall. -

Ahh yes, the blame game. You can lay blame anywhere you want. Facts are facts. Drew's lowlights show him getting sacked and in a few reels then show the other team running the fumbled ball back for a TD. Another thing that cant be denied is that JP has a mobility that Drew does not. Will he translate that to sack avoidance? maybe, maybe not. This may be the ONLY thing that we have seen him do so far between preseason games and mop up duty. If anything he was criticized for taking off with the ball to much. Regardless, I can think of 2 plays in 2 games that could have meant wins instead fo losses and maybe the playoffs rather than perpetual TV viewing. NE and Pitt. We will never know, but what we do know, and what is undeniable, is that JP has mobility that Drew does not. I choose to look at that as a plus, another option, another reason for success, and another reason to overcome other players weaknesses. On the Bills that ALWAYS a good thing. -

Bad choice of words, sorry, your correct; In what seems to be a perpetual Bills story at this point....It did not go as expected. I am just sick and tired of being used as the medias lowlight reel. -
We can only hope. And to analyze this for a second, consider this: JP looks to have better accuracy that Drew, at this point. I say at this point because the tape shows Drew under and overthrowing ALOT last year. I assume that JP will be a bit more accurate which should translate to more catches. However, Drew had a very bad habit of locking on to Moulds and only Moulds. If JP looks him off more, he may throw elsewhere which is good for the team but bad for Eric. So, it could be a mixed bag. The emergence of Evans may keep some double teams off Eric which may let him get the ball more, but that relies on JP to find him and hit him when open. Just my take, I say its up in the air as to whether JP over Drew means better production for Moulds. Evans, JP's accuracy and presence, all have an impact on that.

Dude, love him or hate him, you CANT be happy seeing him used as another teams highlights. Can you? -
NFL Network reported John Abraham got the franchise tag and guess who's "lowlights" they used to show Abraham? You got it, Drew Bleedslow. I seriously think that Drew is used on about 75% of other teams defensive highlight reels. To me, that really says something. I dont claim that whoever is our QB next year wont make some other teams D highlights. It just would be nice to see some OTHER face at this point.

in cap space. So doesnt that still give us a 6 mill hit for the guy? I love him for sure, I think he can be a stud at times. I also think some of Moulds problems with dropsies were due to poor throws by Drew. But 6 mill? Isnt that a bit much for a guy who arguably isnt our best player and may not even be our best WR? I know we couldnt cut him, I didnt want to anyway. I just feel like TD should have played this a bit differently when he went to restructure him the 1st time so we wouldnt be stuck paying 6 mill in cap space to Moulds. Am I way off the mark here?
-
Sorry that it didnt work out here. I thought it would and I was wrong. But, I am not one for endlessly sticking with the same ole thing and this situation is only going to get worse. Thank god that we drafted JP last year! Thank god for sensibility and for TD!

This si our chance to lock up at top flight LT. He is not at the level of Pace/Jones/Ogden but is well above Jennings. Thomas has a better pass protection technique but lack a bit in the run department.
