  1. hmmm, with the playoffs on the line, he throws for 189 yards, 53%, no TD's, 1 INT, sacked 3 times, 2 fumbles..1 returned for a TD, and all of this agianst Pitts 3rd stringers!!! Your kidding me right? I thought we wanted to go to the playoffs? OK, fine, Drew starts. How much faith do you have in Drew beating NE even once next year? This year: 1) 247 yards, 1TD, 1INT, 60 percent, sacked 7 times, and 1 fumble returned for a TD that sealed the game. 2) 76 yards, 0 TD's, 3 INT's, 42 percent, sacked 2 times So, he cant win games with the playoffs on the line against 3rd stringers, he sure as hell cant play even decent or win against NE. That means we WONT win our division, and we cant trust him to win a game that puts us in as a wildcard. How much longer do you want to be out of the playoffs? Why has everyone forgotten about trying to win the division? Wouldnt it be nice to have home field advantage for even one game? how about throughout? how about a first round bye? I just dont see the logic. I respect your opinion, but I disagree! Drew has shown us everything we need to see at this point.
  2. Gheez, I wish that TD shared your certainty in Drew!
  3. If thats true, FORGET HIM!
  4. Hey, I didnt start it man. You could have made your point WITHOUT all the attitude! How about showing me the slightest amount of respect, Ill return the favor.
  5. I understand your point. But, if the LT spot is NOT viewed to be a very very critical one, why have STL and Sea franchised Jones and Pace year after year after year? I agree its a mess, and Im by no means saying the players arent part of the problem and that its all the teams fault. But, come on, no one could manage to set the damn market 3 years in a row? And in the meantime the players have to go through all this contract crap every damn off-season? And cant test the FA market? How long should this go on for? I think it ends this year with Walter Jones leaving, signing somewhere which instantly sets the market for Pace's negotiations.
  6. Hey, I agree with you about teams not parting with STUD LT's. My arguement is that Jennings is set to leave, so the Bills apparently dont feel they MUST hang on to their LT. AND Shelton is NOT worth Henry straight up! Its a DREAM to think any team will trade us a LT and a 3rd rounder for Henry, but crazy stuff does happen, ask Ditka about getting Ricky! Its more likely that it would be Henry for LJ plus a 5th or 6th. I just feel like with our cap situation, decent depth, and already solid team in most areas, we should spend some dough on a few studs. a serious upgrade on the o-line with a few studs would be, by far, the best move for this team. Especially if they plan to start Losman, it could mean the difference between a 8 and 8 or worse season and the playoffs at say 9 and 6. If Losman has lots of time and isnt rattled, I think he will do pretty damn good. It worked for Pitt! Lots of ifs, but why take a guy who is a sleeper type at THE MOST IMPORTANT o-line position? why not pay, your highest salary on the o-line, to the best player on the o-line in the most important position. Im not sure its wise to take a chance on Shelton at LT. We need a guy we can count on from day one.
  7. Im 100% with you dude!!! as far as FA, I didnt see a mention of TE yet Franks and Becht are set to be out there. I think we will have between 13-15 mill in cap space after all s said and done with Drew, Moulds, Travis. Thats a lot of cash to lock up 2 maybe 3 players!! That, to me, means a few bigtime studs! Walter Jones..Hell ya, Pace..hell ya, Franks..yes, Andruzzi..yes. as far as draft, you are on the money my man! If we nail down our strating LG from FA, we can draft Nuge with the 2nd rounder. Mathis, Lefors are both guys I like, Jacobs? dont know him, but JJ Arrington and Noah Herron or Darren Sproles are guys I like. How about another WR to compete with Mathis/Reed/Aiken for the 3rd WR spot? I LOVE Chauncey Stovall, FSU!!!! Keep it up! maybe TD lurks here in his spare time!
  8. hold up, it MAY be true that he is lazy and is skipping the workouts, But I think its more likely that the elite LT's were sick and tired of anually being franchised and wanted to get at least ONE damn team to set the market value for a stud LT. Every year, the teams keep saying "its not MY job to set the market". I dont blame him for just wanting a damn extension. Pace, Jones keep getting tagged and never get a new contract, they are probably pretty sick and tired of not having their contract locked up and going through this every year. Id bet that they may have been very willing to take a little less before to get a deal done, but now are being pricks because their teams keep screwing with them.
  9. Not impressed with Gardner? He was there best WR when Ramsey started a few years back, I think that Brunell was why you havent heard squat from him, now Ramsey has been screwed up by his benching ordeal, Ramsey will rebound but it may take a few years. As far as Jones, Im not so sure TD doesnt have him in mind. TD Did in fact pay top dollar for Williams and he knows how important the LT spot is. I have this feeling that the Drew pay-cut and Moulds restructure is to get money for some specific player or maybe a short list of potential players. I have a feeling that TD knows he is going to be in good cap shape from now on and that this year with some specific cap moves he could end up 13-15 mill under. I think TD sees this team as VERY close to being SB caliper and that a FEW studs, yes properly paid, would put us into the elite-in-the-league status. Its just a hunch. I dont see him spending all 13-15 mill on second tier guys, I see him grabbing a few studs! and filling in depth from the draft.
  10. OK fine, but why would you even think about a guy who is a has-never-been wash up when Carter is young mobile, has won some games, and would come up here CHEAP!
  11. If slamming makes you feel good about yourself, hey slam on! Why am i picturing you as a pencil necked geek with no friends who was constantly picked on at school, lunch money constantly stolen, no girl-friends, whos got hand prints on the screen from all the computer high-fives? This is the last response Im making to any of your posts, if you can manage to stick to football talk without the slams you will get more friends trust me. Until then, theres lots to talk about with people who want to talk Bills! So basically thats a big fat....... :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:
  12. Yeah, thats the thing. We need a guy who could win as a starter, Mathews aint it! Drew... sure. Brad Johnson... sure, Warner... sure. The reason Im semi-fond of getting Carter out of that pack is that he is the most mobile/scrambling and he would probably be the cheapest. Those 2 things make me like the move. Its the off the field crap that makes him so cheap, even though I hate the off the field crap, in this case its saving us money and he isnt a starter or a guy who has to be a leader. And hes the youngest of the bunch.
  13. Interesting point of J Mac. I just feel like there are some guys out there that could be traded for that are in the upper eschelon of the league already. Why not go after one of them? even if they are older? Especially at THE most important spot on the o-line, LT. Its looking more and more likely that Walter Jones is headed for FA. Why would we not pay the money for the guy? What about Surtain? Ty Law may be cut, Hell even Rod Gardner. LJ Shelton is the LEAST desirable out of the guys on the block. Surtain, or Gardner are both above him in my mind.
  14. I know your just being cute. But, Jeff George and Quincy are NOT the same! Quincy has actually played well in the past, George NEVER has!
  15. absolutely agree on Drew, BUT he HAS to take that paycut!
  16. Your a waste of a posters account!
  17. He only signed a one year deal with the Jets and screwed himself with his off the field problems. But, he did play pretty decent for the Cowboys, and could be had for probably the league minimum. Would you take a guy who could start for us if he had to, with a checkered past, if you could get him for the league minimum? I might take that chance!
  18. Dude, I think your off base here. Shelton was a sleeper prospect taken early in the 1999 Draft. Green made him second string because he was disgusted with his line. 6-6 335 with 6 years experience and he's 28. Green demoted him for a reason and I dont think it was only coming into training camp too fat. Shelton stripped off the pounds and still sat the bench. Leonard Davis was moved to LT and did well. Some reporters have claimed that LJ Shelton was one of the best o-lineman on the Cards, top 2 or 3. So, it could be that Shelton is underrated by Green. But this is DEFINETELY something to be weary of. I absolutely would not trade Henry for Shelton straight up. Shelton is NOT worthy of a pro bowl RB like Henry in a trade. Shelton plus a pick, yes. But to me I would say it needs to be something like a 4th or maybe even a 3 AND Shelton for Henry. I still think Miami may be set to trade Surtain to us. Surtain or Shelton, you do the math.
  19. Sure, he was better. Turns out cat sh_t is better than dog sh_t. Sorry to be crass but your point is only that he is better, not that he is good enough. I feel strongly as do many others, that HE IS NOT!!! I hope your not implying that he is good enough. Are you? This team needs better performance from our QB. I want a guy that can actually beat the Pats, remember them? They are the team keeping us from winning the division. A division win would mean potentially a bye and home field advantage. That is HUGE! Besides, I hope you arent trying to lead us to embracing this clown as our starter again. Did you mark your calendar and highlight a date that you would come here and say that he was just fine after he couldnt beat the damn Steelers 3rd stringers? Fans dont forget. I wont forget. I know that HE cost us the playoffs this year. That HE lost the NE game and the Steelers game. Say what you will, but a guy who can scramble might have avoided those sacks for fumbles and TD's. Drew CANT AND NEVER WILL. I simply wont hear the offseason ridiculousness where everything blue becomes green and the sky is actually brown. The only thing thats brown is the sh_t that many try to convince us is the truth. Drew is mediocre and stands a very good chance of getting even worse. Even if he is the same player, we should expect the same results. I dont want to watch other teams in the playoffs any more! Drew cant get it done, game over, move on! Hell using your mentality, Harrington should be our guy, he did have a better passers rating than Drew after all! We both know better.
  20. I like it. I think though that the Fins wont trade us straight up. A 3 time pro bowl CB at 28 years old for a 1 time pro bowl alternate at RB doesnt seem to be a fair trade stright up. Furthermore, Surtain has is in his final year of a contract that pays him $6.15 million in 2005 and has a cap number of $8.383 million. So, a trade would make the fins eat the bonus money but we would still take on 6.15 mil for Surtain and then need to re-sign him next year. If it were to be done, TD would most likely immediatley re-sign him which would drastically lower his cap figure. I like the move, but I feel McGee is an impressive player who could work out to be a very very good shutdown cover corner at a bargain price. I think if McGee were to remainour starter for next year, we would see a huge improvement and feel very good about him by years end. Remember that he wasnt the starter and didnt get starting snaps until Vincent was injured. Adding a pro-bowler like Surtain would be huge because a) we would have the best secondary in the league bar none, and b) Clements is set to be a FA in 2006. Who knows what happens with Clements, if he leaves for some reason we can again start Surtain and McGee or other. I like the position we are in by adding Surtain. The only place this hurts us is inthe draft. We would only end up with 1 2nd rounder. Many here like us getting Nugent and a O-lineman with our 2- 2nd's assuming a TH trade for a pick. But, I cant justify adding another unknown and giving up a shot at a pro-bowl CB like Surtain. A brief synopsis: 1) Surtain for Henry straight up wont happen, we probably have to kick in something else, maybe even a 3rd rounder. I still think its a smart move 2) Surtain or a 2nd and 3rd round pick, you choose. Thats an easy one for me, Surtain! 3) Surtain or a developing McGee as our starter opposite Clements. Again, easy, Surtain 4) 2006, Clements can leave and we still have Surtain and McGee. Although Id Like to still keep Clements. Overall, I lovet his move and I think Henry plus our 3rd rounder for Surtain is well worth it.
  21. Ding, Dong the witch is........ (cheezy Wizard of Oz analogy/OFF)
  22. listen, fool, and be schooled. Ted Nugent is a big time hunter, he had his own compound bow, the name, "The Ted Nugent Whackmaster". Thats where it came from.
  23. OK, so here we are at a crossroads. I think we should sign high priced studs and you are wanting to save money but for what? What are you saving this money for if not FA's?
  24. UHHH, 24 yard TD, thats a selling point!
