  1. he plays both I hope you knew that.
  2. Id see either of these guys. Id love to land Wiley back on our soil but I know he hasnt played up to snuff since leaving, Id grab him at the league minimum though. Holliday I like alot and I think he would be an upgrade to Big Pat although Id still rather have Pat back. Again the question is price.
  3. That has to be the plan here. I dont see anyway that TD brought in Shelton who is a downgrade at LT to Jennings to play LT. That doesnt make sense when you make a comment like "we werent good enough on offense". I doesnt make sense to then dowgrade at LT, the most important T position. Many think Shelton is a dowgrade including ESPN who ranked Jennings WAY above Shelton as far as grading. Yes, the guy is a project at this point but with JMac I think he can be very very good. I still would rather follow the pay train here and stick Williams at LT and Shelton at RT. One thing I like about Shelton is his size 6' 6" 335, and his contract, the TRavis trade works out to only eat into our cap by around 2 mill (3 mill for Shelton - TRavis 1 mill = 2 mill). That very cheap for a guy with upside and a T. Next is our LG spot and I think this is where we spend most of our cash. If Mike Wahle is released, I think they grab him, if not it could be a younger guy like Coleman o rmaybe the draft in David Baas. Dont rule out Bubba Franks being a Bill, the transition tag only mean the Pack has the right to match, and they get NO compensation. This is how we got Takeo Spikes remember, he was transition tagged by the Bengals. It really doesnt keep us from getting Franks at all.
  4. Doesnt mean much, that how we got Spikes too.
  5. or we could merge this effort with ours on say AOL's message boards, Im sure the teeny boppers can really layout some slams.
  6. nice try, ive been pretty specific about who i want.
  7. You can believe whoever you want. I hope this isnt a veiled attempt to try to convince people that we cant afford such and so player. Posters who operate like that are wrong time and time again. I think I will remember CP's cap number and at the end of FA lets see who was more accurate! We will sign big name players like it or not and with TD onboard it happens almost every year!
  8. I read it and it doesnt answer the question I posed, this guy is more like 7 mill away from BillsDaily's assessment of how much cap we have. ESPN also has posted a similar figure to BillsDaily.
  9. I will check it out.
  10. He certainly has been productive for the Titans. Thoughts?
  11. Furthermore, BillsDaily has Mike Williams cap figure at around 6 mill you have it at 9. Can you explain this?
  12. How do you resolve the difference between your cap figures and BillsDaily? You seem to be about 5 million short from what they report.
  13. I do, he seems to be about 5 million under what BillsDaily is reporting as our cap space. I theorize that this is propaganda meant to undermine the notion that we can purchase top talent in FA. I dont believe his numbers.
  14. Not a link but Ijust watched Mularkey on NFL Total Access and he mentioned, "there will be more position changes" when refering to what other things they may do on offense. I think, obviously dont know, that he is refering to this move and maybe the TE spot. Maybe Shelton was to be brought in as a RT not LT with Williams to move to LT. I think I like this move the best, Williams can definetly move on his feet sometimes to a flaw. He certainly has the size, knows the DE's he will be going against in our divsion, and as such may be the best guy to protect the QB's blindside. If you had to chose which T spot to add aguy who is unfamiliar with the DE's in the divsion, you would like it to be the RT spot with a right handed QB. JP should see guys coming on the right side and may be able to scramble away. I like the move, if it happens. I just dont see anyone out there being better at LT than Williams may be. And like I said I think there is several RT's who would play pretty well for us. Shelton is one of them.
  15. I think thi smay be in the works. Consider this: Williams is set to make a huge contract next year 9 mill or something. Jennings is set to walk. Jennings was considered by many to be the best LT set to be available in FA. However, there are a few decent RT available. So, logic follows that we could move big Mike to LT and sign one of the RT out there. We then would be playing Mike at LT and he certainly is being paid like an LT. He probably was our best T last year and has upside including nimble feet to play the spot. And the Bills may feel that with Jennings leaving their best LT option may be Mike. As far as RT goes I think we can grab a guy from FA and save money over a LT. I like Stockar McDougle or Kareem McKenzie. The other interesting point here is that the Bills havent forced a restructure of Mikes contract. Is it because they have already planned to move him to LT? Do they feel that your best o-lineman out to be at LT? Do they also feel that their highest paid o-lineman should be an LT? I still think its obscene to pay Mike 9 mill next year even at LT. I guess I am just wondering what the Bills are doing as far as LT goes. They are gonna let Jennings bolt, are starting Losman who will need protection, and havent shown us anything so far to say that they are going to upgrade the position. I just hope that TD doesnt try to go the cheap route and get some guy who turns out to be worse than Jennings. I hope he has a trick up his sleeve. Maybe its a trade for a stud (not Shelton). Maybe its moving Mike. Lets keep our fingers crossed on this one, it could have a huge impact on our season!
  16. Wait let me take this one.... Large market team in NYC the Rangers, small market team in Buffalo the Sabres, and MSG is in NYC......Hmmmmmmmmmmmm sorry fo rthe sarcasm, Im ticked because we all know how this will go.
  17. clearly you didnt read the original post from the CBA, the player must receive the pay for the postion that he played the most games in from the prior year. That statement alone prevents what you are referring to. The teams would nto be able to start a guy at LT the majority of the year and then switch him to C and franchise him to save money. Like I said its a stupid rule because C or G should never make even close to 7.3 mill per even if they are all world. I was wrong about what I said, but only because it is the dumbest rule I think I have heard of and so illogical that it only made sense to be untrue.
  18. If thats what it says thats what it says and Im wrong. Thats a very stupid rule. The best G or C in the whole damn league isnt worth 7.3 mill per!
  19. Sorry, but I FAR from by the red zone over the official CBA!
  20. I wasnt drooling so it isnt that big of a deal to me.
  21. gotcha, i dont think thats always the case but you certainly would have to have rules around that and yes fold some teams if necessary
  22. I lost you on the last part, why does revenue sharing not equal parity? It lets small market teams reach the cap, they then can spend money on big name players which may put more fannys in the seats.
  23. Its an excellent point and revenue sharing fixes this. Facts are facts, the Sabres will put more fannys in the seat if Detroit comes to town.
  24. agree with you. The benefits of trading for Shelton, moving him to LG, and then re-signing or tagging Jennings would be: 1) Keeping Jennings who looks to be the best available LT out in FA 2)Getting a former T who can be a stud at G at a 3mill per rate which may be less than some of the stud LG's available in FA. If TD feels that Shelton is paid the same or more than he could sign a stud LG for, theres no point. If Shelton is traded for and TD wants him at LT, he would have to believe that he is better than JJ at that spot. I sure as hell hope he isnt trying to get a cheap deal at LT by getting a 3mill per LT from Shelton where it will cost more to re-sign JJ. That could be a HUGE mistake when we need to count on our LT to save our young QB's backside. This is the most important position on the o-line. I just dont want to take a chance here, theres too much at stake. Lets remember one thing though, it was SHELTON who setup the visit, NOT the Bills. Re-read the story. Thats a big deal and may mean that Shelton likes the Bills more than the Bills like Shelton!
  25. How did you read that some other way? So a C or G gets the same franchise pay that a LT gets. I dont believe that for a second.
