  1. I just found this talking about what the Bills are going to do in this offseason and they discuss that we should think about 2006: The Bills' planning has 2006 in mind. That's when starters Clements, Adams, Campbell, London Fletcher, Chris Kelsay, Lawyer Milloy, Jeff Posey, Ross Tucker and kicker Rian Lindell become unrestricted free agents. Donahoe would like to tie up Clements, who made his first Pro Bowl, before he gets to free agency. How in the hell are we gonna keep all those guys? Clements and Adams need to stay but what about Milloy? Kelsay?
  2. Im not sure we disagree. I dont want to overpay anymore than you do. I guess Im looking to add a few studs who can put us over the top. I feel we are so damn close and a Kearse and Owens will put us squarely in the playoffs. I like us grabbing a big name guy or guys but for a reasonable contract. Do I want to pay Pace money for Jennings, NO. Do I want to pay Pace money for Pace, yeah I guess I do. Adding a stud at LT would do HUGEthings to help JP be successfull, not having to "sweat" your blindside will give him the ability to feel more comfortable which should equate to better decisions early. Im worried about what we do at LT. Many want Shelton there but questioned Jennings play at LT. How can people honestly state that Shelton is a sure fire upgrade to Jennings? Its too important a position for us to downgrade.
  3. Dont agree with you on this. CB is not that much of a need. If a top notch corner can be had for a decent price, yes its a better move to get a sure fire stud from day one than to risk McGee stepping up even more. Especially when Clements is a FA next year. But, I Like McGee and he puts a clown like Watson to shame right now. Is he Clements yet? No. Bit he has gotten better every year, why does that not continue? He has the speed and size,
  4. Fransk go tthe transition tag which means its the same situation as when we got Takeo, it means virtually nothing. If we want him we can get him.
  5. again, I think the drop off is from the D he is on and his earlier numbers are better than Edwards. You seem to want Edwards as our #2 DT, OK fine I have heard your opinion. Lets put it this way, I wont be unhappy if Edwards is our #2 DT next year, I guess Id like to see us upgrade to Pat, thats all.
  6. dont really know about his heart but he lit up the field in the village bowl. I see him going in the 2nd and if we lock up our LG and LT early in FA, and Nugent continues to drop (missed his long shots) then I say take him. Our TE spot should and I think will be handled in FA. Mathis, plus...say...Franks could make our vertical game SCARRY! He is an instant #3 and more likely a day one #2 who would be a dream for us as #3 and could replace Moulds in a few years.
  7. I cant and wont agree with your cap assessments, TD has always found a way to get the guys he wants and we always seem to feel pretty good about the contracts. That makes the notion that we cant get x,y, or z ludicrous to me. TD can get it done. That said, we need upgrades at both positions. Could we absorb a slight downgrade at DT, yes probably. But we simply cant at LT, IMO. This is the most important year to have a very good LT with ayoung QB starting.
  8. The guy is an overachiever who put up the following: YEAR TEAM G GS TOT SOLO AST PD SACK FF REC INT YDS TD 2000 MIN 16 13 48 44 4 1 2.0 0 0 0 0 0 2001 MIN 16 16 45 33 12 1 6.0 2 1 0 0 0 2002 MIN 16 16 52 41 11 4 5.5 0 2 0 0 0 2003 MIN 16 16 27 20 7 4 2.0 1 0 0 0 0 2004 MIN 13 9 20 11 9 2 1.5 0 2 0 0 0 CAREER 77 -- 192 149 43 12 17.0 3 -- 0 0 0 5.5 and 6.0 sacks plus forced fumbles isnt bad for a undersized DT. I like his approach to the game, he may not be the biggest, but he has a huge heart and in our scheme with our supporting cast on D he could excel. Edwards had a great game and 2 sacks, I wanted him to show that Pat could walk, I didnt really see sh_t from him after that game. Hovan brings a tough attitude that we need late in games at times. Hes a guy you could count on when Pat or Sam start to breathe heavy. Id love to add an overachiever next to big Sam and let him go.
  9. at WR he is average, but with his speed and height at TE he could be awesome!!!! He is better served to go the TE route where you can take advantage of his size and athleticisim rather than putting him up against track stars.
  10. They would spend 3 first rounders on Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren. Hovan is a first rounder, sounds like a fit. Dont try to repeat the Pats they are an enigma that will never be repeated. We are different from them in almost every single way.
  11. Todd Pinkston is a lanky rangy player. Jerome is built!
  12. Edwards had 2 sacks in one game. Hovan had 3 years of 4-6 sacks and then a recent drop off. I think he needs a change of scenery. What would Spikes do on the leagues worst D?
  13. This new method of adding to your original post isnt working, no one has any kind of a response to Gil saying Jerome is the fastest 40 in the HISTORY of the combine? GHEEZ!
  14. the only part I like about this is that he is similar in his tyle of play to Losman so the offense doesnt change if he goes in. That said, Id rather draft a guy that can move than bring in Garcia.
  15. I hope the clock has been ticking for a while now, considering the decision to not re-sign Jennings was probably made a month ago. I seriously feel like what we do at LT is the pivot point of our offseason and maybe even next season. With a young QB at the helm, the most important o-line position up in the air. Man, we better make a really solid move or I think we suffer hardcore.
  16. good call, hes been productive for the hawks. I like other guys better but he would be an upgrade.
  17. HE wont be a starter in the NFL at QB, but could be a stud at TE.
  18. David Baas and Maurice Clarett are 2 more.
  19. I like letting him walk but if we are taking risks Id rather get a guy with much more upside like Chris Hovan at the league minimum or say 1.5 mill per.
  20. This is Gil Brandts combine notes: Our fivesome believes that Hampton's Jerome Mathis, who ran somewhere between 4.25 and 4.29 in the 40, ran the fastest 40 in the history of the combine. We think Deion Sanders ran something like 4.28 when he was at the combine over 10 years ago, so Mathis is extremely close to being one of the fastest people at the combine. He made himself some money because he also did a good job in receiving drills.
  21. I think we are too close to take a risk on Edwards. Sam + Pat works, if anything add a proven upgrade to Pat, but dont take a risk and let teams start to run on us.
  22. Ohh, I have ZERO problem with that, I think Wahle is a stud and would instantly make our line LOTS better.
  23. I agree to disagree, I think Hovan is the right type of player for the Bills and would be great next to a monster like Sam.
  24. Im taking Bubba Franks. He is the premiere TE available and I think the Shelton deal lingers for another week until the Henry contract situation is hammered out. I truly believ TD has a player in mind and my guess is its Franks.
