  1. Nah, shes 20, all good! This is one of those series I am kinda over, but feel i have invested in it so want to see how it ends and will watch the final season...although I skip a ton and made it through this last episode in about 20 minutes
  2. while i still love the golf at the Masters, the sanctimony of the whole week starts to get to me. It's a golf tournament for crying out loud, not the second coming.
  3. Heard on GR the Sabres are trading a first rounder for this guy @4merper4mer
  4. I doubt that brewery would be happy to hear you compare the two LOL. And I am with you, I ain't waiting for a beer! Too many good ones out there. The 60 in the can is the perfect beer for me for an everyday beer. Not expensive, tastes just fine right out of the can, at 6% can drink more than a few. Is it the best IPA out there..no way, but for what I want out of it it is perfect!
  5. haha, so on the money! I am mostly watching the Bruins-Lightning tussle for 1st. Almost had a goalie fight! Damn, I miss goalie fights! I am watching on 770-1 for DTV folks...hate to admit but I love the over the top homerism of Jack Edwards
  6. I did see him twice in the WJC, but excited to see him with the big boys. Nice day today, gives me an excuse to sit on the porch and drink and the very least!
  7. I am watching live tonight..well, maybe on an hour delay.
  8. ya know, I was talking to about this to a buddy the other day. 10 years ago, college-aged girls I thought looked like adults. Now that my daughter is a freshman in college, college-aged girls look like they are 12. So no for me
  9. They are scared if they dont make changes, you are correct, there will not be a league. Say what you want about "the players know the risks" , there are several activities the government will not allow you to do even though you willing acknowledge the risk. That Polian league will allow the team that is behind to get one play, from thier 35, to gain 10 yards and maintain possession instead of the onside kick. They have already stated no kickoffs. I thnk they are out of the NFL in 3 years, and i have no issue with it.
  10. Hmm, torn between losing out, or seeing Casey and Jack go off last 6 games and give some hope for next year. Maybe not a ton, but 5-6% better chance in each of the first 3 positions worth last. @PromoTheRobotshould be happy Thursday at least got a little bump in resale
  11. you aint kidding. NJ, assume you looking down at Florida more than up at CBUS, but know that loss would have helped. See Florida has the Sabres 2nd to last day..you may need that game. Looks like the two with the Leafs is going to huge for yall.
  12. Is Gettleman getting his fans ready for the trade down? That's what i read out of this http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/27/dave-gettleman-seeking-generational-player-with-second-pick/
  13. Ty for looking at this, was just thinking about it! Amazing...and that was 10/18. What was the season, 2 weeks old? Man , a fast start is so important!
  14. Burning a year of his ELC, but McKenzie tweeted something about his late birthday not a true RFA or need to be protected in expected expansion draft in two years. I will live with it I guess. I expect more “ process” with both him and Borgen, and expect to see both start the season in Rochester next year.
  15. Lottery would be nice, but ain't a Sabre fan breathing air that thinks that will happen. I got my money on the Blackhawks or Islanders. I might watch the game tonight on DVR starting around 9. i do like watching them play the leafs
  16. I say Bills are the early Monday night game week 1..7PM start Bills are far from not popular, and captured a ton of new eyes last year with the playoffs, and equally as important the fanbase. Now they ain't the Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, or Giants, or Pats, but think they are solidly in that second group of "popular" teams. Think the Bills fit in with the likes of the Bears, Seahawks, Broncos, Washington, and Eagles. will be at both as well.
  17. Well, I have not seen Borgen play one second, but guys who know say he has been playing well, so first piece of good news for the Sabres in 6 months. God job GMJB
  18. I have become so disinterested, god bless for going. I had tickets a few weeks back in DC..sold them and actually made a few dollars.
  19. raise your hand if you have watched more than 2 periods of the Sabres live in the last month or so. I am really curious if anyone that is in this thread has watched any lately. Last i can remember watching live is the first Maple Leaf game. GR has a twitter poll up asking if this is the worst season ever..and I absolutely think it is.
  20. lest we forget, we put him in some exactas as well, cause the other horse was named Cherry Pie ..in honor of the Pie thread on OTW. And yes, obviously only an idiot bets on a horses name....but in football, I have a little more sense..( even though I did go broke last football season )
  21. Agree it is not essential, but it it tilts the playing field in your favor. Brady is an exception , as his $15m per season puts him behind every single stinking staring QB on their 2nd contract( I think, but maybe wrong). So New England gets value way above replacement, and gets value way above cap number. Which you just cannot expect a team friendly deal from every other QB. Eli was certainly first year under new rules, and I think as the rules come into affect, the thought process on how to build a team has as well. All of McBeanes moves point to this. Tre White over Gilmore Dawkins over Cordy zae/ rookie this year over Sammy rookie QB( fingers crossed) / cheap bridge guy in McCarron $46 million dead cap this year, all things point to him building the team this way.
  22. @The Poojer might be the only one who cares, but went to the new Hardywood in West Creek last night for their soft opening. Holy moly is that place huge, and beautiful. Going to great place for beers, foods, and music. They are making their "distribution" beers there, sours and small batch at the original place in Scotts Addition. @Mr Infoknows the big wigs there, we need to get him to line up a TBD special tour!
  23. Here is where i believe Brooks logic is flawed. As he says, he was taught scouting and drafting philosophy by " Mike Holmgren, Ted Thompson, John Schneider and Scot McCloughan -- all of whom were mentored by Ron Wolf during their time with the Green Bay . You know what they all had in common..not having a rookie wage scale. So when you drafted a QB high back then, not only was your draft cooked, but so was your cap. Teams that win now( outside NE) do so with exceptional value ( rookie contracts) at high-value positions like QB, CB, LT, and WR. That is why drafting Barkey high makes zero sense from a cap and team building perspective. His value over replacement is not as great as his value over his cap number. Barkley goes in the top 10, he will be paid like a top 5 RB in the league. Darnold, Rosen, Allen go in the top 10, they are paid like a bottom 6 QB in the league. And if they flame out, does not kill your cap number. He mentions Gabbert, Ponder, Locker in the article, every hear of any of these teams being handcuffed by the cap cause they paid the first round QB? Ever hear a Bills fan saying drafting EJ was a massive drain on our ability to sign guys?> Nope and that's why you need to take bigger swings and risks at QB, the reward those first 5 years if they hit is just too great to pass up. Its a different world, and analytics will drive these decisions, and cap and cheap rookie contracts at value positions absolutely drive decsions
  24. Well, I had them to win the North last year at 33-1...just a slight bit off! the win totals will be out after the draft, and you will NOT get a good deal on the Browns. Lots of folks jumping on them. Thye are now the hot "sneaky good" team, which obviously means they are not "sneaky" anymore. I predict the line at 6 1/2 win total, but a huge vig on the over..something like - 160 to win 100. Bookmakers know this huge groundswell of the "the Browns are going to surprise and be really good" is out there and will entice you like hell to bet the over...be very weary!!!!!
