  1. a fan is a fan..how much money ya spend, how many games you go to..none of that matters. When my kids were little, I was lucky to make a game a year. Now they are older, I got pissed I only made a total of 5 home games and 7 total games this year with this god awful schedule. No bigger fan now than I was 12 years ago. For that matter when I was in college, there were a couple years I did not even see a game, let alone attend one..traveling every week for games or meets..no satellite dish or sports bars in es the early 80's..raced to the library early Monday to read the recap in the USA today!
  2. think you have your rows backwards..i am noo expert bit i believe 1-8 not under cover
  3. if it was me..i would sell the clubs and buy some upper decks seats where real men sit... In the clubs, you will sit with the swells like @mead107and @BringBackFergy...you really want to ruin your day like that? Pretty damn sure they will have on tweed sport coats with elbow patches.
  4. facebook live is facebook live...can't see how they could hide it or make it hard to find! Fellas, enjoyed the day..off to bed as I contemplate going to the Bill game on Sunday. Feel like I owe the drive to Kyle..decide in the AM! Would love to meet you all at the tailgate..anyone going to the game on Sunday?
  5. Maybe a good point...I am not sure.. I confess to not knowing the whole story.. but do you really think if trump wanted to do a "fireside chat" type thing facebook would somehow intervene and edit?
  6. all i am saying is you all cry to the heavens every day the media , the media, the media. You call the other side "snowflakes" cause they, in your words, constantly whine. As you do on the media
  7. man, yall cry much?
  8. North Korea is playing Trump..the economy was juiced for a bit by idiotic tax cuts..GDP increases are now lower than under Obama..and deficits raising dramatically. Wage growth keeping pace with inflation..claim as a win for Trump I guess. I will concede that non-skilled workers have seen a decrease in their unemployment levels, and black and minority unemployment numbers have decreased as a direct result of the short-term boost from the tax cuts. But in the long term, those are still unskilled jobs...and we need to get those folks skills that material matter to the economy , and to them, and foster long-term prosperity for the lower middle class..not tempory bump based on the sugar rush of tax cuts.
  9. the chaos is reflected in the market swings..no one, not our allies, not our enemies, nor anyone knows which way this dude will move AKA chaos...and it is hitting me right where it hurts. dude has not improved my life in any manner...and has increased the risk in the world...
  10. we bought our second house cause it was right next to the Capital Cresent Trail in DC. we definitely paid more for the house as it was on the trail. People still pay up to be close to it http://bikewashington.org/trails/cct/cct.htm
  11. yes you got me!!!!!! you are so on top of things!!!! 10 lies a day brother...
  12. it is not a vague stat...they explain each and evry one. How about we do this..yall take the last 100 posted and tell me which ones are "factually " wrong.
  13. of course i was throwing out a number..so here is this a little over 10 lies or mistruths for EVERY SINGLE Day of his presidency. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/?utm_term=.1cf843ea82db
  14. lots to reply to here..but just a few points 1) being a reality TV star and the POTUS demands different standards of behaviour, decorum, and truth ..do you not agree to that? Would you not judge the POTUS on a different level than a Jenner? And Mort Downey used to make me laugh, and the nedia laughed at him..i would be aghast if he acted that way as POTUS 2) if you think he wanted to play nice but the rhetoric kept up and so he changed, i strongly disagree..its because h,e, and Spicer and Conway set the stage with e alternative facts narrative on Inauguration Day. When the president and his team can freely admit to "alternative facts" instead of just the truth, you have set the stage for the entire world, including the media to be skeptical of everything you say from there on out. Yall see it as negative, I see lots of it as "is this really the truth?" 3)Everything he says is an outrage cause so much of it is untruthful( prolly greater than 80%), hurtful, unfounded boastfulness and only plays to his base, not the population as a whole. 4) in terms of vile, racist things? Yes, he has spouted those things. Is it all the time? Nope, is it ofetn no.. But when is the last time the media said something Trump said was racist? Was it when he said racist things? Prolly 5) You and I think different on " the establishment" . You say you hate it due to all the lies..but then dismiss Trump and his lies. Its just non sequitur to me. I think there are extremes in the media on both sides..
  15. When you tell 95% untruths and throw the country into a state of continual chaos , I would say the press is being kind. Absolutely he would be treated better if he acted like the POTUS and not some crazy person who has to tell untruths throughout every stinking day. Who had some sort of decorum. Thinking the oress should not continually call him out on lies and lies and half truths is just thinking we should have state media..
  16. we do a tenderloin for Christmas( i like a standing rib roast much better) , and I did it last year sous vide, this year reverse sear method from Serious Eats. Salted for 24 hrs, 200 degree oven till 127( about 2 20):, rest for 15 minutes, then under a broiler with shallot, thyme, butter mixture. It was freaking perfect! Perfectly red from edge to edge, but a better crust post sear. As serious eats even says, the dry roasting of the oven just lets a better crust develop.
  17. i dunno, think that is tough to know. Rex sucks on TV, Witten sucks..both were thought to be sure fire greats on TV
  18. I also wanted to put the skeptical emoji, but we limited to one.
  19. I am saying Trump gets an awful lot of what he deserves in the media. You can not constantly tell mistruths, treat people like scum, abandon all sense of the decorum the office of POTUS demands..and expect to get praised. He reaps what he sows..words matter!
  20. this may make me go..
  21. The thread is about Trump's portrayal in the media..yall cry about it all the time like Brady calling for flag..dare i say like snowflakes? In terms of the content of your post..i dont see any successes there. Trade Policy is a mess- just cause Trump states something does not make it so...prolly means the opposite with his constant stream of lies. Do you think there is a reason we needed emergency bailout funds for farmers? The Economy-Temporary bump from ill-advised tax cuts..GDP growth right back at levels of Obama era, or lower, --but huge increase to deficit... market showing what it thinks the economy will be in 12-18 months Foreign Affairs--Worse off with our allies North Korea playing Trump like a fiddle, China no different, Russia no different... I will give him credit for pulling the troops out of Syria Immigration- ??? Explain how things have changed dramatically Scotus- he appointed a conservative judge(s)..as any Republican President would have done. Wow..such an achievement!!! Is he the first Republican president to get a conservative appointed to the Supreme court? And I just have no clue how yall just excuse his constant, never-ending lying. You tell me when i should believe him and trust him? @Deranged Rhino rails on here how the government has been lying to us for years, and yet when Trump does it somehow we should just tsk tsk him and move on
  22. well, as it relates to this thread and the media portrayal of Trump...dont you think his constant untruths and twisting of facts and flat out lies inspire the press to paint him in a negative light?
  23. Haha! Sorry! As opposed to @Corp000085, I thought good, but not great. Part of that I am sure is my hearing is not great and it was tough for me to understand the audio portion sometimes. Having said that, some of the visuals are quite graphic, and as Corp said , grab the audience by the cahones. I tend to watch quite a bit of documentary films, and was quite familiar with life in the trenches as shown in other documentaries. But this film does bring that to life in a way I had not experienced or seen before , so that was great. At the conclusion of the movie, there was a 30 minute piece discussing how the movie was made and film restored, but I did not watch that so cannot comment if interesting or not. Also, I bought a wrong ticket and ended up at 3D. I can readily admit I have a bias against 3D, so that be entering into my judgement. I think I may have enjoyed better in standard, but that is my bias, wonder how Corp felt about the 3D. Overall, I recommend the movie if it goes into wider release. My only word of caution is the movie is not a history of WW1, but truly a focus on how British soldiers experienced the war. For a more complete history of the war from the US perspective I recommend American Experience The Great War, from PBS. I am !certain that is on Amazon.
