The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
plenzmd1 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
a) I never agreed to anything on the fact checker page...are you saying Trump does not lie to the American people consistently? not sure what you mean by B&C ..but think i agree. CNN and Fox are going to carry live... -

I will take your figures at face value ..and i have never said I don't believe it is not an important issue. I said I believe Trump did not find it an issue rising to an Oval Office address until the gov shutdown...as he demonstrated when he signaled and Sanders tweeted, he would sign the spending resolution with the $1.8B until his girl Ingraham and her crew went nuts. -

you know this battle has nothing to do with a wall or open borders..it has to do with each side going to battle for their base. Trump to appease the right wing of the party, Pelosi to appease the never Trump folks..no difference really. -

then it should have been an emergency or of great national import before the shutdown, which it was not. And certainly was not important to him when he agreed to the spending resolution, then did a 180 cause the folks on Fox and Rush went nuts. Call a spade a spade a spade here..i don't think this became a demonstrably different "emergency" in the last two weeks. He wants free, unobstructed, non challenged airtime....for something that he himself did not see as an emergency two weeks ago. I do believe the man uses other forms of communication, one might even say he is an expert at it. And the problem with listening to his arguments(of which i do) is the need to deconstruct every sentence to understand that which was factually correct, that which is an exaggeration to help his argument, and that which is just flat out lies and misrepresentations. -

Here is where we agree/disagree. Trump says the immigration issue this is a national emergency...which apparently it was not before his base exploded two weeks ago... -

i agree partially...problem here is Trump cannot tell the truth, about anything. I am all for airing it live with live fact checkers on the scroll at the bottom..you okay with that? -

i did edit my post above..if Trump let reporters in and allowed questions.. I am sure no debate on who carries it. Lord, you know as well as I if Trump can have national airtime and not have to answer questions...it will never end. 2020 would be unbearable with the amount of Oval Office talks we would have. He loves twitter..do a periscope..a facetime live..it on CNN and Fox News.. -

umm..what if you don't buy the "success" narrative.. does that make you a lunatic? Then call me crazy!!! -
when i first moved to DC, I wont say I liked the Redskins, but if Bills were out of it I was okay if they won. Went to a ton of games at RFK, and that was a great place to see games and a lot of fun, and easy as all get out to in and out. Went to a lot of games at Fedex when it opened as well, as had a job where I did a ton of entertaining. the first couple of years was fun there too. Then Snyder took over...and now I really can't stand that team..and many of their long-term fans also can't stand the team due to Snyder.

I agree with that..I am also in the camp that wants immigration reform, distrusts Congress and the President, am perfectly fine with a wall but am angry at both parties over this stalemate. As I have stated here many a time, I would be behind Trump 100% on this issue if he went to the mattresses for full funding of the wall, then I would believe it was about the wall. But it's about appeasing his base, as it is for the other side And I do feel for these 800K people being used as pawns..no matter your opinion of the usefulness of government and its workers, these people rely on that job...and both parties could give a rats patootie about them.

Arghh, I do stand corrected. apologies @B-Man . That being said, my thought on that article is the same. No facts, not one, to support the claim of public sides with Trump on the shutdown.
-
Its his headline in the link descriptor/title...he makes them up
-
yea..i was being snarky as to this is just a photo op. I do wonder how this thing ends...i mean somehow there is going to a deal where both sides claim total victory to appease their base....
-
and, this means what exactly?
-
Dude, you losing me with some of these posts that are all opinion and you state them as fact. Where in the world in that article does it have any facts to back up that claim in your link title? That 60,000 people retweeted it is indicative of...what exactly??? That Trump's followers retweet his tweets? I am not even saying the premise is wrong, just that article has absoluely no evidense to support it. You did this as well with "Fact" guy as evidence why a wall would work...and there was not one explanation or proof based claim in that video. Now, while I love your memes and cartoons and such, I also want to keep clicking your links but will not if they do not support your claim in the title.

But for "them" to say any rally in Iowa lacks racial diversity is like saying the majority of spectators at a Bills game are Bills fans. No chit??? Whats I missing outside some right wing chucklhead crying in his beer again. BTW, like this piece fro the WAPO today..see if it resonates with any yall https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/01/07/alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-very-bad-defense-her-falsehoods/?utm_term=.d7715ae23f1f -

^^^^ I am with @BADOLBILZ ..100% the in-stadium experience is where I want to be..home and away. Home games are like Thanksgiving to me..get a whole day to spend with family and friends, and then the game experience...just can't be beat in my mind. I have gone to enough games i never miss anything in line for the bathroom or beer...just have to know when to go and how to watch a play or two from the vestibule . And i am telling ya right now, the food is awesome in a tailgate..both pre and post. I like it so much I drive 9 hours each way at least 5-6 every year to be in the stadium.
