Maybe now the story will be told on Gurley...

yowzer...didnt he get like $40 guaranteed? -
Hey @transplantbillsfan, quick question for you. Why do you not have any social media accounts? I would think any school would encourage teachers to be on these platforms if for no other reason than to understand how your students view the world, the information that is disemanated etc. i can see not being on gacebook as anyone under 25 never uses it except for what they want their nanas to see, but you really should get a Twitter and Insta account. And i I hope the silly racist this is over on both sides.

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
plenzmd1 replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
can't believe anything that whacko @Deranged Rhino says!!!! Agree on the President and clearances, although the interview with Haberman he indicates he did not know that to be the case( and neither did I, so, unfortunately, i am as dumb as Trump) If the memos come out, we will know what happened with certainty. Not sure how they would come out, but plenty of leakers in the administration. Funny, that just made me remember Mulvaney saying a couple of weeks ago the leaker of the schedule was about to be outed..did that ever happen? -

all good points and I agree that certainly the very definition of politician prolly contains language that lying is a requirement. That being said, i think the frequency and sheer number is what bothers so many folks, me included. There is hardly a day goes by that dude does not get fact-checked into a mistruth. It is the press's job to root those out..and for Trump it is a daily occurance -

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

not quite sure what you mean..but the media has always, and i mean always, leaned left. I don't think anyone can dispute that. I do think they have moved a little furthur left with Trump as POTUS, but man the dude just brings it on himself. Does it bother you nada that he continually lies? Do you think the press should not dog him every second of every day on every fact and statement he makes based on his record of mistruths? BTW, and OT..but @Foxx did you reply to my post? I have a notification saying you did, but i do not see anything..and 3rd time that has happened today. Just wanted to know if happening to others etc. THX -
Absolutely no argument there

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency

Not quite sure where to put this, so will put it here.If it were true that the MSM is so over the top agasint Trump( i admit they lean left) could it be it is because he continually tells outright lies and mistruths? I mean we just had Republicans saying Cohen can't be trusted because he is a known lier...why should the press believe anything Trump says? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/03/01/president-ivanka-trumps-egregious-deception-security-clearances/?utm_term=.55c84d38119a Now, it sure looks like that apple don't fall far from that tree ...doesn't it Ans granted this one semantics..but it matters https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-47408696 -
I was just bustin..but I read plenty..WSJ is the other national paper I read. I do tend to stay off the far right sights like The Federalist and Breitbart. I admit i am partial to the WAPO...man before the internet. I loved living right in DC and getting that City Edition at 5 AM with up to date sports scores, even from the West Coast..and a good chunk of the crime happening in my neighborhood from the previous night....

Unless they agree with the Trump positions..then they are fine and exemplary examples of journalistic integrity!!!!

Not to take this thread away from the economy, but I am not sure about some of the ideas in that article, and I do think it impacts economic success and opportunity. in a job where demonstrating and using hard skills is the barometer of success, then language and use of the language means very little. In other "knowledge jobs" , language and use of the language is hugely important. I immediately dismiss people who cannot use the language correctly, and plenty of them are white, so-called "educated" people. PLenty are people of color. My point is, it just does not matter to me, what matters to me if you are going to work with me or represent my product or company etc, I expect a certain proficiency with the English language. And to blindly say that should not matter is just wrong to me. It is a barrier to success, no matter whether you are white, black, Asian , Hispanic etc. I worked with an organization many moons ago created and still lead by immigrants, that identified language skills as the biggest barrier to economic success for immigrants, and does yeoman work on the topic. https://www.usenglish.org/history/ I long ago stopped saying" well spoken" "articulate" etc about anyone, as I believe it does denote bias. However, I will maintain that saying" screw it, this is how I talk and how I hack up the language, you need to adjust to me" as a society is wrong and holds people back. Just to be clear, I am not talking about accents and use of some slang terms..but more following the rules we all learned in grade school and high school.

Boos tonight? Just for the record, I am not a booer..but i would not think lesser of folks who do if the Sabres are not in this game either. Good thing is its Friday night, and I have zero intention of watching this game. It will auto record, and if it interesting maybe will watch 3rd on a recorded basis...but stress free night!

couple things here. 1) If that was truly the case, take my freaking eyes out. Before I was accurately diagnosed with clusters, I would have gladly given up an eye to get rid of that pain. Yes, I would have had another..i get it, but I think most rational folks without some form of mental distress..be that depression or any other illness, would glady go blind before offing themselves with two small children in tow. 2) Do please point out in that article where it talks about the pain of" hydrogen peroxide in her eye 24/7" This whIt i see in that article but did nothing apparently I see nothing in that article about life-altering, unbearable pain. Did i miss something? My whole point here was to counter the argument that Lasix was somehow responsible for her death. -
well, the only positive is this On December 16th, the Sabres had a 92% chance of MAKING the playoffs...so , maybe this is wrong too. I mean think about that, in a little over two months they have completed reversed this graph...that is really freaking hard to do! http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Buffalo_ChanceWillMakePlayoffs.html
