Key to offer sheets and Sabres is Sabres do not have their 3rd round pick this year. So they could do the 4 first rounders, but any offer that requires a 3rd rounder is out of the wSabres.

spotrac has the bonus split into 2 at year 3 and 5, Capfriendly has it in year 2 and 4. Think spotrac more likely right as that lines up with the CBA expiration..at least i think it does. couple of things here... 1) we dont know about movement clauses yet...that can always hold up a deal 2) the structue of the signing bonuses is key to Skinner. He gets lockout protection with the first payout..not sure why he took the the next one in year 5 instead of now. 3) the lower numbers in year 7 and 8 has to have something to do with buyouts...i just dont know what or what side it benefits LOL..will dig into that as well

As I understand it, front office and coaching contracts have offset language..so lets say he was due to make $1M this year, and the Bills bring him back at $500K. My understanding is that in that case he would still make the $1M..with Bills paying $500K and Texans paying $500K. But i could be wrong on that...players fight to not have offset language included in rookie deals, maybe he did too!!!

My point was all the fretting over the trade is revisionist history. People who are killing JBotts for the trade now( everywhere, not just in this thread) were praising him in November for getting rid of the room killer. I believe the privacy laws are much , much more than a simple pop up..requirements for anonymized data etc. Also, the Patriot Act leaves so much open to the US Government..so much so that running any SaaS company really requires you to have an EU data center if you want any international customers..yes even Canadian firms. as the privacy laws are much stricter outside the US.
